Meltwater for media and news monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
Very simple layout and easy to use, while still serving its purpose.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would be great to be able to better customize the newsletter.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Media and news monitoring and management (list building) on a limited budget.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Meltwater is a good budget-friendly option for media monitoring
O.K. but not great

I like that Meltwater has historical data.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that they have send limits and charge for overages and that their platform is a little to basic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I haven't benefited much from the service.
Meltwater media relations review
What do you like best about the product?
The social media tracking was very helpful and it seemed that it was curating the right news, on time, with no duplicated which was a major plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard was entirely too difficult to navigate and to use. I would consider going back if these issues were resolved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pitching and media monitoring is out main goal.
Good for basic social listening, but lacking on in-depth analysis
What do you like best about the product?
Quick setup. No issues with creating topics. You can learn all the tool features within a day or two at most.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of in-depth analysis - for socual listening, it is vital to have at least two layers of info to dig into. Sysomos lacks the capability on that end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly used for my LOB for Socual Listening. Very useful for doing quick scans. Also seems like the standard interface for social listening as most of our clients understand it to be.
Sysomos for Security intel
What do you like best about the product?
Sysomos aggregates social media posts based on content so our team can stay on top of happenings at our workplace,
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems to be difficult to add tags and separate different tags into different groupings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's all about quick reactions, and reacting more quickly when it's necessary to do so. Sysomos helps us do just that.
Buggy and slow to fix
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, even a novice can jump in and use with little training

Breaks often and is rarely fixed quickly. Sometimes weeks at a time

What do you like best about the product?
I like it that I get daily emails with my top hits based off the keywords I have selected to crawl (branded keywords, industry keywords, competitors, etc.) I get all my press in one location and don't need to jump between dashboard to see how many hits I received.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing that I currently dislike about this dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By using Meltwater, we are able to analyze our PR efforts and know what publications are talking about us on a daily basis.
Helpful resource for a busy marketer
What do you like best about the product?
Once set up, the tracking software is great. I like getting twice daily comprehensive reporting on my keywords. We just added the influencer database which i think is greatly going to enhance our media outreach for both pitching stories and evaluating marketing opportunities.
I am also excited about the CRM element of the influencer database. Will make tracking conversations much more smooth.
I am very happy with the segmented influencer lists - great for creating an outreach list that is easy to keep track of.

What do you dislike about the product?
Still a few clunky elements on the interface. The new monitor dashboard is taking me awhile to adjust to, i think in time i will really like it.
I would like to be able to more easily sort news stories.
I don't like that once i select an influencer for one type of list i cannot add them to another more segmented list without "unfollowing" them and then readding them to multiple lists at once.

We just set up the influencer / media database elements. I think this is going to greatly enhance our outreach and marketing efforts.

My brief experience with Meltwater has been very positive, both with the product and the support.
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater has been very helpful with researching media contacts and for pitching stories to members of the media.
What do you dislike about the product?
Most of my dislikes were taken care of when I went through the training session with a member of Meltwater.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefits are easy. Meltwater provides quick access to local, state, regional and national media with quick searches and allows us to pitch stories on whatever the topic pertains to.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Would highly recommend to anyone who engages with media or works in the public relations industry. But, make sure you do the training. It's a big help.
Great PR Tracking Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Although Meltwater has an excellent web-based platform, what I like best are the e-mail notifications that come into my inbox twice a day. It gives me a quick glance view at publicity that we are getting and also shows me activity on our competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with any tracking software, Meltwater sometimes aggregates notifications that don't pertain to us. Our account manager is responsive to our requests to correct those issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Meltwater's Media Monitoring Service as our primary source of press release pick-ups and news stories. Meltwater reports are frequently our first notification that publicity has appeared. We also benefit from the reporting tool and incorporate the coverage in our monthly reports to senior leadership.
