Meltwater makes my life a lot easier!

What do you like best about the product?
I like using Meltwater news the most. I like that the contacts automatically update when there has been turnover in a position. I also like how easy it is to send press releases out through the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the press releases hit spam, but I always follow up anyway with reporters to make sure they see the press releases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm a one man show, so Meltwater helps me save time by keeping up with my contact list and reporting. The reporting system saves me HOURS of work.

What do you like best about the product?
Usability, nice platform, easier to navigate than Cision. Love the daily digest and newsletter function. I like the descriptions of the reporters and the feature that shows what they have recently written and links to their twitter pages
What do you dislike about the product?
Don'y like that you can't search by beat within a certain news outlet. Don't think the metrics are great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PR function, media monitoring, press outreach

What do you like best about the product?
the easy-to-navigate database of reporters and the media monitoring service. These are the two functions we use the most.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like the new platform to make it easier to generate excel spreadsheets of reporters. The previous version was more user-friendly in my opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our main challenge is to get our research in front of the appropriate reporters and outlets and keeping up with the ever-shifting media landscape.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy-to-use, searchable database of media representatives and outlets, as well as the real-time media monitoring service.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater helps us do two fundamental things:
1) It allows us to keep a pulse on our market. What are people saying, what are our competitors doing, and how far is our reach? I love getting my daily report email that shows all of the news mentions of my company.
2) It allows me to quickly and easily build target lists to make sure my press releases are getting in front of the right publications.

I also have thoroughly enjoyed my experience working with our account rep and the team at Meltwater. They have a great attention to customer service and I appreciate that. They are great about following up with me.
What do you dislike about the product?
The product portfolio is pretty large and my team currently uses one product. Understanding how their products fit and work together is something that I think could be better portrayed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Press releases, media monitoring, social listening, competitive intel
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ask them to share with you the whole picture of what they can do with their products and how they integrate and work with each other.

What do you like best about the product?
Great customer support. Easy to search for keywords for media articles and what I like most when it comes to media monitoring is easy to setup filters for media outlets.
What do you dislike about the product?
Good for filtering out unwanted media outlets but when it comes to exploring all media doesn't necessarily capture the most comprehensive news compared to Google. A bit slow on computer, doesn't have the most updated influencer information. Media filtering is somewhat clunky to use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All in one place for media targeting and media monitoring. Because of media outlet filters, saves time as you don't need to individually search those sites.

What do you like best about the product?
The customer service is outstanding. Anytime I need a refresher or have a question my rep, Lauren, always responds to me ASAP. She seems genuinely concerned about the success of my media relations programs and always makes me feel valued.
What do you dislike about the product?
The system can be a little complicated at times but, when I am having problems, my rep is always there to help me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater is helping me prove value for my office by giving me ad rate equivalencies for my earned media programs.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the profiles of the journalists/influencers that are registered in their system.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think the emails are as user friendly and easy to digest as the actually platform is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to search where our company is mentioned in the media, and collect all the mentions in one platform.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the customer service the best. I always get a fast response when I have an issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes not all media hits show up and that can be frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Often we see media hits that we didn't know existed for our books, so that's always a good thing.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Meltwater is able to show me members of the media that would be interesting in writing about my brand, Schlitterbahn Waterparks, vs. me trying to get in contact with someone who isn't necessarily a fan of waterparks.
It's also very helpful to have TV Eyes integrated so I don't have to switch between programs when I'm monitoring coverage.
The inbox is also great because it shows us all the news stories that were written about us and the impact they make on our brand.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a way to see stories from magazines (even if it was the online story) and other outlets that sometimes don't feed into the dashboards we currently have set up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We now have a wider variety of reporters and freelance writers to choose from. This has definitely helped us when pitching new stories about the different things we have going on at Schlitterbahn.
The beats filter under "Influencers" is also a huge plus for us!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you feel like you're struggling to get in contact with a writer who is interested in your product, I would recommend using Meltwater. Their influencer database is perfect for finding thousands of different writers with different interests!
Their costumer support also does a superb job of walking you through training on how to use their product and make you a pro in a few short days!

Great Product for Trade Associations

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is very easy. It provides a quick, easy to read snapshot of all of our activities and campaigns. In addition we can measure overall success of our communication efforts as well as specific initiatives and easy determine what is resonating and other areas where more focus needs to be given (or de-prioritized).
What do you dislike about the product?
Log in to multiple platforms and sometimes the it is hard to find specific instructions for different items.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is easy to identify new reporters and key influencers without much work. Also, it is very easy to show the value of communications to the senior leadership team and the board. As a result, they have responded with a better understanding of the role of communications within the organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Figure out what your needs are first and your strategy. Then talk to a Meltwater representative and they can typically walk you through how exactly the system will meet your needs. For small and mid-size associations, Meltwater staff is a great resource for reports and/or research that goes beyond the online system and will save you a great deal of time and be able to make better reports to your executives and board.
