Effective Journalist Tracking with Accessible Support
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Meltwater turns up the contact information for people I'm trying to find or turns up new possibilities of journalists. I think some of the Meltwater tracking is good, even though at times it's incomplete. It's important for me to know who may have picked up story pitches that I sent out to journalists, and Meltwater helps with that. I found Meltwater to be more effective than what I used before and their team, led by Matthew Taylor, is much more accessible and easy to work with. The initial setup was easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that at times the Meltwater tracking is incomplete. When I get my daily email on where we might have been published or reported on, it leaves me looking for solutions to better send out emails.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Meltwater to track down elusive journalist contacts and conduct targeted searches, often discovering new contacts I wasn't aware of.
Exceptionally Detailed Insights and Effortless Press Distribution
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is very detailed and captures more than we ever thought that it could. We also appreciate the fact that we can send things out on the press wire. It has been very easy to use so far and to implement into our routine.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. We have enjoyed using it so far
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social media listening, and competition analysis are the main reasons we are using it currently.
Comprehensive Monitoring with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can research journalists and the topics they write about. It also makes it easy to monitor the placements your clients receive in the media.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating lists with specific journalists that I want to target. I have a very niche client, and the journalists that we want to target aren't necessarily on Meltwater, and don't have the beats that Meltwater use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Meltwater for sending press releases, monitoring media alerts, and doing mass emails. I can research journalists and monitor the media placements my clients receive.
Powerful Media Tracking, Steep Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
I like the newsletter feature with its easy plug-in template that basically does it for you. The new analytics tab is cool too, though it's new to me, not sure if it's a new feature overall. Meltwater helps us see where our name is in the news and other media outlets. There's an abundance of tools Meltwater has to help us understand our company mentions and voice in the media. Data analytics is something we use to continue to progress. The initial setup of Meltwater was very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel that we are not utilizing Meltwater to its full potential. There are so many amazing features and tools, which can be overwhelming, and I don't know where to start. If I don't use Meltwater consistently, I feel that I need a refresher, which is fine, but I wish there was a guide or a list of all Meltwater's capabilities, like a cheat sheet. It would help me use it to its full potential because sometimes I forget how to do something after meeting with a Meltwater contact.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Meltwater to track media mentions for our company, providing insights into where our name appears. It helps us generate reports for executives using newsletters that compile our media visibility with ease.
Good and Substantial
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater gives me a clear view of brand perception at scale. The platform’s topic clustering, sentiment breakdown, and source-level filtering let me translate a chaotic volume of mentions into usable insights for strategy. The dashboards update fast and the exporting options make it easy to pull data into internal reports. It also handles global coverage well, which is critical for multinational clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UX still feels heavier than it should be. Some workflows take too many clicks, especially when refining searches or cleaning noise. The AI tools are useful but inconsistent, so I still verify most outputs manually. The charts have limited customization, which slows down reporting. Integration with other analytics platforms also feels basic and could be smoother.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me understand how a brand is talked about in real time and what themes actually shape perception. This supports strategic recommendations for employer branding, campaign direction, and competitive benchmarking. Without Meltwater I would be guessing. With it I can back insights with evidence, spot risks early, and map the ecosystem around a brand with far more clarity.

Easy to use and the Meltwater team are very attentive

The platform itself is still a bit clunky and some are intimated by it. There are still a few things I wish it could do

Intuitive Platform with Great Support and Continuous Improvements
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is very intuitive and the support team is incredibly quick with their responses. I've actively used Meltwater for roughly 2 years, and the service and tools have enhanced almost quarterly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Meltwater can come off as daunting and at times, give too much information about irrelevant metrics to what I need.

Meltwater makes it quick and easy to pull metrics for campaigns and media events.
Effortless Media Monitoring with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to see all content in one place, which makes it very convenient. Also, pulling reports is easy, and drilling down results is straightforward with Meltwater.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the story posting and customizing reporting in Meltwater. Story scheduling would be great, and it would be nice to change titles and have longer text boxes in reports. I also wish Meltwater had a preview grid feature.

Meltwater helps me with content scheduling and media monitoring, and it manages multiple accounts efficiently. I like seeing all content in one place, and pulling reports is easy.
User-Friendly PR Tool with Outstanding Support
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Meltwater is one of the most user-friendly PR tools out there. The media relations engage tool and explore tab are where I spend a lot of my time because the Boolean search is so easy to curate and narrow down to what exactly I'm looking for. The initial setup was super easy, and Meltwater has excellent customer support if needed. Additionally, the Mira companion is also helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd love to build a coverage report or campaign report not from a saved search. That would be amazing in the explore tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Meltwater to combine social media and PR on one platform, making it user-friendly for media outreach and report building. The boolean search feature helps curate precise information.
Efficient for Social Management, But Limited Video & Story Features
What do you like best about the product?
I really like Meltwater’s feature of being able to post to multiple profiles. This feature helps us a lot, especially since we’re a small team with many roles—it makes posting to our multiple brands much easier and saves us time. Also, adding additional profiles was easy, and our account support team is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm disappointed that the Story feature is not as robust as it should be. You can only post to an Instagram story, whereas for free, you could post to Facebook and Instagram from Meta Business Planner. It feels like you don't get your money's worth in this area. Also, posting videos is a bit of a hassle because I believe there is still a 5MB size limit, which means we end up using Meta Business Planner and logging into each platform to post our videos.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Meltwater for social media management. It helps our small team manage multiple roles by making posting easier, saving time by allowing us to post the same message to various brands quickly.
