Good tool and platform, needs to improve database

What do you like best about the product?
I like the platform is easy to use, very intuitive. The support is also excellent, it has been for a few years. We used to have a chat support that would answer in minutes, which was amazing and so needed when you work in a global company, with different time zones. But team support is quite great, and they are very knowledgeable. I use the platform for PR distribution, media lists, social listening, and influencer outreach. They are good platforms, but for media, they are very US/Canada focused. They have journalists from other countries, but when compared to the competition, they are a bit behind on this. Overall quite a good platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lately, they pushed a few minutes to a few hours, and if you want answers in minutes, you have to pay extra. Not cool. Also, it seems they are ALWAYS trying to upsell you, and get you to commit to accessing more tools. It gets tiring after a while. The lack of consistency on the global list of contacts for journalists in other countries is also not great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The influencer platform was very nice, I am still learning to use but it made easier to find the right influencers for each business, which would have taken forever to be done manually. It also helps with media monitoring, so we can know right away where and when our company was mentioned. It helps us follow topics of interests as well and competitors. Doing it manually would take forever.

What do you like best about the product?
I have access to reporting, scheduling, outreach, and daily updates all in one place
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been occasional glitches but generally they update software and catchup quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Daily emails with collated news and customised reporting. Social media scheduling. Press releases, journalist outreach.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is an effective solution for our media monitoring needs. The platform's user-friendly interface and analytics tools have improved our ability to stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities.

Having more extensive integration capabilities would make it more seamlessly integrated into our existing ecosystem.

What do you like best about the product?
Comprehensive media monitoring capabilities across traditional news outlets (i.e., TV, radio, newspaper), non-traditional outlets (i.e., blogs) and social media. The real-time alerts and daily digests are also exceptionally helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not the most intuitive platform in terms of setting up various searches, benchmarking, and monitoring.

Brand reputation management and monitoring.

Fantastic tool for PR and External Comms professionals

What do you like best about the product?
I was introduced to Meltwater when I began my most recent role on a corporate comms team, and it's hard to believe there was a time I didn't use it. Its Newswire tool is incredibly helpful and makes drafting and sending press releases to the media a breeze. I also like that you can search up journalists and contact them directly through the app. Its analytics function is also excellent, and we use it regularly to help track our metrics (the fact that the analytics can be turned into a presentation in a few clicks is also pretty amazing). Definitely an essential platform for professionals in external comms or PR roles.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do feel that Meltwater can be complicated; it takes quite a bit of learning and the navigation isn't always intuitive. Even after using it for a year I know there's a lot I don't understand and I'm not using it to its full capacity. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though -- it's a powerful tool. The customer support team has been very helpful with setting things up, like the automated newsletters, but they can be slow to respond, even in a crisis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Probably the most valuable thing to me and my team is its ability to send automated daily newsletters that notify us of all media mentions and industry news. I used to have to monitor channels daily and manually write up a news report for our senior leaders, but since implementing that function, we can each receive the email and look through it ourselves.

The new press release AI tool is also very helpful and works much better than other AI tools at drafting and editing press releases.

What do you like best about the product?
Very much appreciate the negative sentiment alerts - ensuring I'm in-the-know on what's being said about my organization.
The support team has been phenomenal.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inabiltiy to track comments from individuals on FB.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater's ability to monitor media constantly takes the weight and responsibility off of our staff.

The advance search. Is the function I most use for my work, it's very easy to understand and helps me to understand market targets.

The high cost of API access. That must be include with the normal subscription.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is a multifaceted monitoring tool - social, online, and traditional media. It's organized and very user-friendly, and the support team within the app is 10/10. It's used almost daily by most members of our team, and is essential for the work that we do.

The Meltwater Academy portal has been invaluable to our team in learning to effectively use the platform, and they enjoy earning badges to post on their LinkedIn. This has been great to use for training new team members and those new to the platform, without taking time away from our team

There are constant upgrades and updates to the platform to bring the newest technology and capabilities to their users while keeping it easy to use in their clean interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the Canadian market, there are some media publications Meltwater can't access due to content agreements with competitors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us find everything we need to report to clients on coverage - from a Facebook post, to a podcast mention, to a new journalist we should be targeting.

Great value for money!

What do you like best about the product?
The platform is quite intuitive once you get used to it, and I like the layout. It accomodates everything from media monitoring and reporting to distributing releases, which is fantastic. The Meltwater Academy is a nice addition from what I've seen, and I'd like to use it more. The support team is fantastic - very responsive, and proactive when new feature are added. I use it every day, and have added a few colleagues to the platform with no problem - we're all able to use it and collaborate very easily. Price is excellent, especially compared to other platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
We've used the newswire distribution a few times, and we don't get the same pick up we do with CNW. Reporting features are a bit limited, and you can't share broadcast clips, but it's sufficient for now. The annual contracts should NOT have an automatic renewal clause.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater is meeting our media monitoring and media outreach needs. It also helps us analyze the results of our outreach, which informs our future campaigns.

Essential daily

What do you like best about the product?
I have become totally reliant on Meltwater's tag function with my reporting, and I was part of the team in my organisation charged with integrating it into our daily work practices. This has allowed us to replace our usual reporting tools with one comprehensive way of measuring and storing coverage received by our clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Meltwater occasionally misses items of coverage and so although it is an excellent resource for documenting, tagging and measuring the coverage my accounts receive, Google searches are often required to supplement Meltwater's search function to make sure I have a comprehensive record. I am however pleased that the support function on meltwater allows you to report any items of coverage which haven't yet been picked up by the search function.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater has saved me the trouble of trawling through google searches to find coverage that matches the media my client would like to monitor. This gives me more time to give my clients accurate reports, with integrated Similarweb that gives us the best possible data.

It is also excellent that we were able to integrate Meltwater with a separate print monitoring service used by our organisation, and so all of our media monitoring was consolidated into one place.
