What do you like best about the product?
Ease of deployment! It takes just a few minutes to get an index set up and deployed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The web-based API console could be improved, for example for experiments with metric (cosine vs dotproduct vs euclidean).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing embeddings for RAG.

It's very reliable, easy to set up and has both SOC 2 and HIPAA compliance.
What do you dislike about the product?
No way to see the list of all the IDs in your collection.

What do you like best about the product?
I have a Pinecone index that I've had to double in size three times now to handle the nearly 10 million vectors I have stored. Despite the increase in size, the search speed has remained constant, and upsert speed has actually increased.
What do you dislike about the product?
This may not be unique to Pinecone, but you need to make sure you figure out your data schema up front because it requires some work to change records at scale if you want to add or modify metadata.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fast speed and fully managed. I don't have to worry about anything other than paying the bill.

Easy to Get Up and Running & Performant

We are happy with our decision to build on top of Pinecone's marketplace solution. It was super easy to get up and running, and so far we have been really happy with query performance and data management features both in the Pinecone console and via the API. The developer docs are great. Would definitely be on the top of my list for the next project.

Awaiting for an expansion in the number of AWS cloud regions they are available, as of this writing us-east-1 was the only option.

Been on Pinecone since a while and I'm quite liking it. I did try a few other competitors but the unique namespace concept and various other features makes life easier and at the moment doing great.

Great and simple solution

At one point we tried using OpenSearch since our application is solely hosted in AWS, but we found it to be too expensive and troublesome to setup and maintain. Pinecone was a great help for us since everything is quite easy, the latency is good (less than one second to do vector comparisons, our dataset has millions of observations), and is less expensive than Opensearch (also the pricing is more straight-forward).

There are some extra functionalities we would like to have in pinecone, like getting all results from a query that are above a certain threshold (and not just top_k) but that is minor. I think it is a pretty solid option for vector search applications.

I would highly recommend Pinecone to those who want to have a vtdb solution for your application. Very straight forward
1) easy to setup and maintain
2) Low Latency Experience (gRPC)
3) hybird search is good to improve performance
4) good documentation and youtube tutorials for those who are knew
