One of the good vector database
Pinecone is one easy-to-use vector database right now and currently using it on production. just create a project and it will create the vector database. my only suggestion is VPC peering or a private link and more locations on AWS since right now you can only deploy it on us-east-1.

All the needed features
We've been using Pinecone as your vector DB solution for several months now. It has served us well. The setup was smooth and we were able to implement their API is a very short time. As our AI usage has grown, Pinecone has scaled well for us and continue to benefit our use-case greatly. Highly recommend.
Blazing Fast
I like PInecone because it's relatively easy to use compared to its competitors and its a fully-managed vector database solution, so you can use it in production without worry. The API is not difficult. It returns similarity scores extremely fast, which has relieved us of the need to do it in our code (which is much slower).
Fast VectorDB and Easy to Use
We are using pinecone since a couple of months, we found its fast, easy to use, it has great client library. Ingestion and retrieval speed is great. Collections are great way to backup vector dbs .
Easy, powerful and so far unique
We've been using Pinecone as primary store for sparse / dense vectors in several business cases since some months.
We also did a direct comparison with other solutions but so far Pinecone stands as our selection of choice.
PROs
- Cloud-base managed "as a service" solution: zero installation/maintenance effort
- Easy to implement thanks to outstanding documentation
- Best in class performances
- So far "unique" hybrid search proposition (dense=semantic and sparse=keyword vectors support)
CONs
- Management tools still not mature/complete and evolving
- Basic access control / profiling mechanisms
- Basic logging tools
- Base price for smallest index still a little high for small business cases
Generally speaking you cannot expect to find in a vector DB (which is a quite recent class of tools) the same maturity of a RDBMS, in terms of completeness of the solutions and availability of tools.
Said that, Pinecone sticks to its core job and does it smoothly, no complains so far from our side.
A pleasant plus is the huge and very comprehensive documentation available, which covers a lot of background theory as well.
We are not giving the 5th star since the product is still young, but the direction it the correct one!
Hands down the best managed Vector DB solution.
Beautiful and easy to use interface. Easy provisioning. An awesome python SDK that makes integration a breeze. Pinecone is hands down the easiest way to leverage Vector DBs in your application. We are using it as a knowledge base to power an LLM integration, but it truly is a more powerful and NLQ-based search index, and I'd use it as a replacement for OpenSearch or ElasticSearch too, not just for LLM apps.
Nice and easy to use
I am using Pinecone for my LLM-based app and switching to the Pay As You Go worked seamlessly. It's actually cheaper than hosting the solution.
Vector DB startup done right.
Pinecone is not the cheapest vector DB, but it is the easiest and they work with conviction towards improving developer experience and in the last 8 months I've used them strides has been made. Their python SDK has in many ways been plug and play for us when building out our MVP. Pinecone has been vital in adding features to our site fast and will be integral for us in our continuous development of future features.

Speed and Ease of Use
I’ve tried a few different vector database services and they were all much much more difficult to get started on and didn’t provide the speed that Pinecone has. Docs are extremely easy to follow and api is well designed.
