What do you like best about the product?
Visualization is the best option provided for large data sets. The help function for all the code which we required is really nice. The packages are easy to understand. The interface is quite simple and straightforward. It is easy to install. There are proper documentation available to understand each and every thins. The scrips i made for my project were easy to use by everyone. It is open source, easy not only for employees but also for students who are in their learning phase can easily use R for their academic purpose. For R users, there is active group which can help an user to understand things very easily. This group helped me in providing me a lot in understanding the errors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much. It is quite easy to access but one need to know about the right libraries to be installed. I didn't dislike anything about this product as particular. Some memory management issue i have faced sometimes. It can quickly absorb all the memory and space available. Other than that i never faced any issue with R.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Large data sets for providing analysis to senior leadership. The visualization helped me in providing good result to leadership. The data cleaning scrips reduce the man hours for data scientists and for me as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's an amazing tool for data analysis. The data cleaning part done on R helped me a lot in reducing my daily hours of cleaning the data. The scripts made on R studio is really easy and helpful. One is able to understand the concept and functions easily with help feature.

RStudio is the best IDE for R, hands down

  • March 29, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
RStudio makes using R a pleasure, giving you all the tools you need to do data science well and easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
It still lacks a few features, namely a good way to explore available packages and an integrated way to clearly view complex list objects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use RStudio every day--R is my go-to language for both data science and data management. I fire up RStudio any time I have a data related problem or question. It makes jumping between script writing and interactive console work a pleasure and being able to see what objects exist in my environment plus a view of the working directory removes a ton of the cognitive load.

The autocomplete tools are spectacular, as is the ability to write your own autocomplete snippets--I begin every script with a quick snipped that loads the libraries I use every day.

In short, RStudio makes using R easy and simple. Combined with dplyr, it provides almost everything I need to get my job done quickly and efficiently.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Using RStudio (rather than vanilla R) is worth a go: the price is right (free!) and the features are amazing. It turns a relatively painful experience into something you'll want do every day.

What do you like best about the product?
The layout is beautiful - easy to navigate. The help bar in the lower corner is infinitely useful
What do you dislike about the product?
The data viewer could be improved, it's pretty basic as it is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This program/language gives me so much flexibility in reshaping, coding, and working with data. If I can figure out how to write it, I can do it.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, flexibility to adjust the screen layout, and ability to easily interact with the base R server. It provides an easy to use interface to access most of the features available in R.
What do you dislike about the product?
The syntax highlighting could use some improvement to bring it up to par with other editors such as Atom or Notepad++, for example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The vast collection of statistical packages in R is easily available through RStudio. I have been using RStudio to analyze large financial datasets for many years. Some of the more tedious housekeeping tasks in R are nicely handle by RStudio.
