What do you like best about the product?
It handle workloads very comfortably with optimum utilization of hardware. It provides low latency operations, both read and write. Team is very much confident with the level of support this DB provides us for both usability and reliability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though it does provide a lot of benefits to us, the pricing could be bit on the lower side. Also the documentation needs some improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to leverage the benefits of this DB for our internal tool that is helpful in scaling and managing multiple servers with it's low latency. APIs are easy to integrate with other NoSQL databases.

Great database for financial application

  • July 12, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
ScyllaDB helped us in processing of credit card data and extract out some insightful information for the business purpose. We migrated our data from DynamoDb to scyllaDB due to its time-series feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although there is no such major disadvantage of using ScyllaDB but I noticed later that there are only fewer third party tool integration is supported. Rest performace wise it's good database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We operate in financial domain where we used to process data of the credit card usage of a user and generate insights out of it for the business. We used to store data in MySQL as well DynamoDB, but as our user base grew, the processing started taking lot of time which impacted the overall business. We started figuring out new DB for faster processing & came across with ScyllaDB. It's time based series, scaling and fine tuning feature is what attracted us to use it. We scaled rapidly with data and reduced our processing time by 35%.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have been utilizing ScyllaDB for a long time now. It is a reliable and highly available NoSQL DB as a result of it's replication. Ensuring that the data remains there even after multiple nodes failure.

Our in-house team got a great help from ScyllaDB support while implementing the DB due to it's supportability with CQL. Best example of data consistency, reliability and performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it comes with many benefits, there is still room for advance features that comes with other mature NoSQL databases. Though it is fastly filling up those gaps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scylladb utilizes resources very optimally, resulting in lower cost of resources and cloud cost. Automated monitoring and manaegement functionalites provides us with great help to reduce database maintenence so we can focus on application development.

ScyllaDB: Our latest Tech crush!

  • July 08, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the speed and performance of this NoSQL database.
It handled our heaviest queries with lightning-fast response times.
The database handles high-frequency queries very easily, and performs consistently under heavy loads.
Kudos to the ScyllaDB team and community, they’re quite helpful and resourceful

For the speed and performance this database provides, the cost efficiency is very good.
So if a fast, scalable, reliable, and budget-friendly database is your question, ScyllaDB is your ANSWER !
Cheers !
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike as such but a point to note is that the database is Resource Intensive
It’s very powerful, but the power comes at the cost resource.
Make sure your hardware is able handle it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ScyllaDB provides seamless scalability , so for an application with varying user load, ScyllaDB's horizontal scaling helps to keep performance consistent with the demand.

My Go-to NoSQL Database

  • July 07, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of the best things about ScyllaDB is its simplicity to use. We can split the DB into multiple shards to have the resiliency in place. We shifted from another NoSQL solution to ScyllaDB due to it's self-healing and advance caching technology which is very much superior.

Compatibilty with other DBs like cassandra helped us to move easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the free version is good enough, the enterprise version might feel a bit expensive.

Another improvement could be a better customer support team and comprehensive documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our product is a Powerpoint add-on where we fetch the embeddings from ScyllaDB due to it's superfast response behaviour and consistency across shards.

Compared to our previous NoSQL DB, it offers higher read and writes per second and optimizes load distribution.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
SyllaDB is love, and I can vouch for it as it comes with plethora of benefits to my organization.

Super low latency - So that my end users get faster responses,
Database sharding - So that we can extract the best of our hardware (CPU and Memory)
Lesser cost as compared to similar tools
and Lastly Cassandra Compatibility
What do you dislike about the product?
Some places where we might need help -

Support - SyllaDB is growing and so is its community and support, so join along the community and add your experiences
Learning - Switching from the Relational DB world to the NoSQL / Distributed world might be overwhelming
Not many extra plugins/tools - I would suggest keep patience
Setting it up initially is bit hard - Again for those, who are new to the NoSQL / Distributed world
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are Payment Gateway providers and in my opinion, SyllaDB can help us in many ways -

Transaction processing - With ultra Low Latency, We can achieve higher Transaction processing rates, especially during peak hours when we are getting millions of transactions per second

Scalability - In the payments world, as we all know transactions peak during festivals/holiday season, and SyllaDB can scale up/down the nodes while ensuring load balancing and maximum resource utilization

Forex Rates - ScyllaDB can fetch latest exchange rates, enabling us for real-time conversion & processing of forex

Dynamic Pricing and Discounts - It can calculate real-time discounts, dynamic pricing, and promotional offers even during the peak seasons/hours, enhancing our shopper experience by benefiting him with the best rates

Understanding ScyllaDB's Architecture - How It Predicts Single-Digit Millisecond Latencies

  • June 26, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The product set of ScyllaDB really stands out with its high throughput and low latency oriented, which is perfect for use cases where real-time interaction is important.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is evident that ScyllaDB is fast but can be complicated depending on the configuration as well as being slightly non-ACID compliant. It offers an excellent service for long-time users but could be confusing to newcomers, and projects with very high standards of consistency will be better off with a different tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With ScyllaDB, there is a solution to the problem of working with Big Data in terms of throughput and latency requirements necessary for real-time applications. Being a DBaaS it comes with simplicity, flexibility, and minimal overheads to users so that they can devote their time and energies to the application development part.

ScyllaDB ; Scalable and high performance database for your needs

  • June 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing is real time and scaling + Also it is very much compitibl with AWS DynamoDB.
This is very good when you have a usecase to perform the larger number of data operations like logging and monitoring matrics.
The good thing and trust for ScyllaDB is it is one the Graduated projects from CNCF where pepople and contribute and help building the stainable softwares for cloud.
Other features are it low latency and supports time based data.
Onboarding and integrating this ScyllaDB is very easy with your system specially if you are woking with kubernetes based deployments.
We use this db as primary for storing the logs and generating the complex dashboards to identify the vulnerablity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much to dislike as every product has pros and cons, as this db simplifies the complxity of managing and using the cassendra db , at the same time there can be some tasks which are complex in ScyllaDB.
Also you have to deal and manage the compute resources for this db for a better performance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Needed a logging and monitoring solution for the packet observality and the VPN request flows to identify the issues and vulnerability. Used for internal services as private SIEM.
