Great for public relations and marketing communications

  • November 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Working with the team is great. It takes some time to understand the platform and the team is always available to assist us and to talk out what we are trying to uncover.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much - but perhaps the visualizations could be simpler for client presentations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time savings and validation. We can go to a client meeting backing up our recommendations with actual data. That is huge for high-level discussions.

It's about the team and the tool!

  • October 29, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
It’s about the team and the tool! Relative Insight has been a fantastic resource for us. The tool itself allows us to sift through tons of data and arrive at insights within minutes.

Proactive support from their team has ensured that we are getting the most out of the resource. They have worked with us in an efficient, thorough, and comprehensive way, which has allowed us to get actionable insights in a matter of minutes rather than hours.

They have gone above customer support to customer elevation, providing strategic guidance and thought leadership which has allowed us to maximize the sources available to us and create meaningful insights to create results.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve and as with most tools, it takes a while to get into the swing of things. Projects take longer than they should at the beginning. The good news is that their team truly is there to help you at every step.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using the tool to develop brand strategies and help support business growth. A few benefits —
- Faster insight gathering
- A fresh perspective on data
- Unique insights
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The more command you have of data sources — for example, knowing where different audiences go online to discuss topics, the more you will get out of this tool.

A great boost to our understanding of social conversation and open-ended survey responses

  • September 09, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The platform gives us a much more detailed understanding of social conversation than we previously had, and is much more advanced than traditional sentiment analysis. It's also allowed us to properly analyse open-ended questions from surveys that previously we did not have enough resource to look at.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much. The only issue we have is that you need a certain volume of conversation around a topic to analyse it properly, so occasionally we've been unable to look at certain subjects, or have had to try to stimulate conversation using fan communities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A variety of things, but we tend to look at specific events or issues rather than generic perceptions around our sport. For example, we have looked at things like how fans our feeling about potentially going to events in the future, so that we can prepare in the way they expect, and also tailor our communication to be in line with those expectations.

Adding analytic depth & linguistic nuance to social media listening - a linguist's dream tool!

  • September 08, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a linguist working in the digital/social media space, I love that this tool is backed by linguistic science and helps me synthesize the openendedness of online language with the precision of linguistic analysis. Relative Insight is a truly invaluable tool to my team as we strive to take digital language research & analysis to the next level. The platform is easy to use, has an attractive interface, and the ability to quickly create downloadable insight cards is unique and super convenient! The entire RI team is exceptional - from user support to brainstorming project ideas with clients - we love working with Relative Insight.
What do you dislike about the product?
The automatic semantic tagger does have limitations, and we often find that words are categorized under topics that do not necessarily fit. I appreciate that this is a difficult and ongoing process on the backend, and with ongoing updates I definitely notice improvements. The ability to flag a term as not fitting within a topic is particularly promising! I think the most helpful future/possible change would be a user's ability to remove/add single words from within a topic (instead of just creating an insight card as the workaround). That being said, the RI team is SO VERY receptive to any questions and feedback we give about such issues and, again, we understand that automatic taggers and systems will always need a human analyst to ultimately make the final call - language is human, complicated, and changing, after all! :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pulling out surprising nuances of any given language dataset that we cannot find through traditional analytic platforms alone. Since using Relative Insight, we are always thinking what we can compare and what interesting research questions we can create because we have this great resource to make really interesting projects that take our language analysis capabilities to a deeper level.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a linguistics-backed tool that provides depth to your analysis, is user-friendly, and has an amazing team behind it- Relative Insight is your new best friend!

Big data linguisic analysis, but make it fast

  • September 08, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a market research linguist who is an expert at evaluating and then using language-related software, I can confirm that Relative Insight is the fastest and most flexible way on the market right now to accurately handle massive amounts of language data. They've figured out how to democratize a method of analysis that has until now been confined to Linguist Academia and opens this capability to completely new markets. My favorite key features:

-Accurate and consistent semantic language categorization based on the best in academic research (due to their partnership w/ Lancaster University). I can't tell you how any bad/untrustworthy AI language categories vendors try to talk me into. No murky black box here, all the language choices are clear and explainable.
-Easy to use. It's easy to upload data, split it out into a variety of ways, and then immediately start visually grouping key insights for clients.
-Flexible. If a specific language categorization doesn't work for the assigned semantic topic, you can easily relabel it.
-Robust. Language analysis isn't just words. It's also topics, phrases, grammar, etc. Relative handles it all.
-Power of comparison. Quickly understanding how people talk in one setting compared to another is a game changer for market researchers who need to segment and target their messaging. Relative is the only tool currently out there that offers this capability and it's 100% the tool I'm most excited about in 2020!
-Customer service. Our rep, Liv, is a rockstar! She's always reaching out to see how we're doing, how she can support, and providing amazing brainstorm support. Relative is truly commited to making sure their clients succeed.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to see their capabilities of handling medical/healthcare language become even more robust. My background in healthcare means I often work with highly specialized patients and doctors, and the language nuances can become quite sophisticated. More semantic categories are needed in this space.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have massive amounts of language data as a company, and our clients do as well. Relative helps us to constantly leverage that data in new and unexpected ways, both internally and for our clients.

Incredibly useful insight and great client care

  • August 06, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Relative Insight provides depths and angles of insight that are hard to pick up via other routes - providing information that is immediately useful to apply to business challenges.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing yet - the format is unique to RI, so needs some onboarding. But the team are very supportive and make it easy to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have so far used RI data to look at the detail sitting behind our NPS - by gathering verbatim social sentiment and feedback clustered around the blunter feedback we normally get from NPS (which often doesn’t have much detail).

Insight in a diiferent way

  • July 17, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The level of detail and insight you unearth in the use of language really opened our eyes to how powerful language can be. The quality of Account Management received was also great
What do you dislike about the product?
you need to find or have the data before you start for it to work, we didn't have this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It enabled us to consider what language we were using both internally and externally and the potential negative and positive impact that could have.
