Versatile for Teams of mid to big size, but setup can be tricky

  • March 29, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like creating various dashboards and different views for different teams in Jira, which helps in prioritizing tasks easily and knowing who is assigned what. The overall integrations in Jira are impressive, especially with platforms like Claude Code and other data integrations. These integrations operate in tandem and in parallel, making Jira a vital tool for both engineering and product teams. I think that's what makes Jira amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think one thing is that it's great that it offers a lot of customizability, but I think that complicates things as well. Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot of consistency across the two or three boards that we have. It's not particularly great how we create filter views or the dashboards and, you know, insert things over there. For example, when creating a dashboard, I can include the different filter views that I have, but I can't create a filter view from the dashboard I'm working on. The initial setup for Jira is another area where they could do a better job. We faced permission issues and setting up certain dashboards is a bit more complicated than it seems. If you want to customize a little bit, then it gets very complicated. Sometimes, you don't even know whether or not you have the permission to do certain things. I think that is one place where it's slightly lacking. I think it's too much that's going around.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Jira to track engineering and product milestones and manage feedback with live tickets. It organizes tasks with customizable views, aiding both high-level and detailed planning. Despite some dashboard limitations, its integration abilities streamline our workflows across teams.

Boosts Visibility and Coordination, Needs Better Text Editor

  • March 29, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Jira improves visibility and ownership of ticket details, providing a single place to track bugs, stories, and other tasks. It enhances coordination within teams and reduces miscommunication. I appreciate the ease of tracking features, changing ticket levels, and linking related tickets. The clear visibility into development stages helps me coordinate with different teams efficiently. I get all the required information in one place, reducing last-minute work. I can collaborate easily on specific tickets, get updates by adding myself as a watcher, and prioritize documentation tasks by checking feature statuses. Traceability is valuable as it helps me include relevant criteria and details while creating content. The prioritization feature helps me focus on high-impact tasks. Overall, Jira enhances my work clarity and efficiency across the development cycle.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a technical writer, Jira's text editor is not ideal for structured documentation-style content. Formatting long descriptions and maintaining readability or updating content can feel restrictive compared to modern documentation tools. Long issue descriptions often become dense, so features like collapsible sections and visual separators would be helpful for keeping information clean. An auto-generated table of contents would help users quickly navigate complex tickets. Built-in callouts, such as notes, important, or warning panels, would be beneficial. A feature to see inline differences would help tech writers find changes easily. Also, a reader-friendly mode for long descriptions would reduce visual clutter.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Jira to improve visibility and organization, track feature bugs, and enhance communication within teams, reducing miscommunication. It provides a single place for details, allows easy task prioritization, and supports collaboration, making the development cycle more efficient.

End-to-End Project Tracking with Easy Integrations and a Simple Workflow Blueprint

  • March 29, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
End-to-end project management and tracking. We’re able to identify dependent stories and tasks and build a cross-product matrix. Developers can track their time, which makes it easier for finance to measure capex and opex.

Integration is straightforward, and we receive alerts on Google Chat and via email. The UI/UX is easy to use. Once you create a blueprint (a workflow), all your tickets can follow the same process.
What do you dislike about the product?
If there’s a cross-team project with Jira tickets spread across two different boards, we should have a multi-board view available somewhere. This would make it easier for the scrum master and the product team to see and manage all dependencies in one place, instead of switching between boards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves end-to-end project tracking, developer productivity tracking, reporting for monthly reviews, and client ticket generation.

The integration with development tools streamlines our entire workflow, making project management and team collaboration seamless. Jira is indispensable for managing complex software projects.

Jira Makes Agile Management Straightforward With a Clean UI and Helpful AI Features

  • March 26, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Jira is purpose-built for Agile project management, and it makes managing an Agile project feel straightforward. I also appreciate the new AI features they’ve integrated into the app, which make it easier to add more detail to tickets when needed. On top of that, I love how clean the UI is—it’s easy to move through projects and navigate between different tickets without getting lost.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Jira is that I have to integrate a separate application for team communication, like Slack. I’d really love it if everything could be kept in one application, because it would make it easier to address issues and blockers, and to share documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira helps me manage complex eCommerce projects and products in a clean, intuitive application. This benefits me because I don’t have to rely on clunky tools that feel intimidating or are hard for my development team to use.
