Engineering projects, simplified our experience with jira
What do you like best about the product?
I like Jira for its ability to bring complete structure and clarity to complex workflows, especially in engineering and mechanical design. It's highly customizable, allowing each stage from concept design validation to approval to be mapped precisely, ensuring nothing skips a step. This level of control makes the process more disciplined and reduces errors. I also find Jira's dashboard and reporting features beneficial, as they provide a real-time view of project status, pending tasks, and bottlenecks, making it easier to stay on top of deadlines and quickly address issues before they escalate. I appreciate how well Jira supports collaboration, allowing team members to commit, tag others, attach design files, and maintain all communication within the task, which avoids scattered conversations. Additionally, its issue tracking capability is extremely effective for logging, prioritizing, and tracking resolutions for design flaws, change requests, or manufacturing concerns, improving accountability and overall quality.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira can be complex for new users, especially those not from a software background. The interface and configuration options can initially feel overwhelming and often require training to fully utilize its capabilities. Performance can be an issue when dealing with large projects and multiple attachments, as it can feel slow and impact productivity. Handling large design files isn't ideal since Jira isn't naturally optimized for CAD drawings, necessitating integration with external tools. Customization, while powerful, can be a drawback as setting up workflows, permissions, and dashboards requires admin expertise, making quick adjustments less flexible. Lastly, reporting can feel limited without additional configuration or plugins and generating detailed reports can require extra effort.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira is our central hub for project management, helping organize workflows, manage tasks, and track changes. It ensures transparency, reduces confusion around version control, and enhances cross-functional collaboration. We identify critical issues in real-time, improving decision-making and meeting tight deadlines.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Centralized QA Management with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I use Jira for tracking and managing my QA work end to end, which is really helpful for logging and triaging bugs, and collaborating with developers and product teams on priorities. I like that it solves the problem of scattered communication by bringing the team together to contribute ideas in one place. It's great for planning and monitoring various stories and bugs. I also appreciate that it's one source of truth for the team; it's our starting point every day and we return to it during every discussion to record our development process. The initial setup was really easy, which I found very convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
When logging QA bugs, it takes time because there are a lot of fields that are populated but not really necessary for the bug. Also, it would be nice if we could understand duplicates at the time of logging itself, and not wait for it to be reviewed and then found out. A better way of duplicate detection while logging the bug or story would be great. Often, there are multiple QAs working, and during testing, there could be duplicate bugs logged, which ends up with different points of reference.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Jira to track and manage QA work, log and triage bugs, and ensure smooth team communication. It centralizes ideas and supports planning and monitoring of stories and bugs.
Centralized Ticketing That Makes Tracking Ad-Hoc Work Easy
What do you like best about the product?
It helps me keep the ticketing system centralized for my company. It helps to materialize the time spent in ad-hoc requests usually send individually to each team member
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is quite complex to use or edit, because things are created in such a big environment that it takes a long time to find a way to customize ticket systems for each team
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralizing the tickets from different departments and saving time in ad-hoc requests in external communication channels.
Easy Test Management from Plan to Summary Reports
What do you like best about the product?
East test management tool right from test plan till summary report.
What do you dislike about the product?
Restriction on report generation when more than 2500 items are present.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reducing time by gathering all the execution details in one place
Streamlines Agile Projects Seamlessly, Needs Better Search Functionality
What do you like best about the product?
I like Jira for its ease of use and its ability to standardize a lot of project management best practices. It handles the end-to-end project life cycle effectively and supports agile development, which I find useful. I am able to define the type of agile methodology, manage sprints, and customize workflows based on my team's needs. Its integration with Confluence pages and the ability to involve and tag the right team members streamline our processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It sometimes becomes difficult to search exactly what I had been talking about in one of the old tickets and one of the comments. So search is something that could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Jira to handle the end-to-end project lifecycle, manage workflows, customize tasks, and connect Confluence pages. It supports agile development, allowing me to define agile methodologies and involve the right people in projects.
Jira Brings Structure and Transparency to Project Tracking
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Jira is how it brings structure and transparency to project tracking. It helps break down complex work into manageable tasks, prioritize clearly, and track progress in real time. I also appreciate the strong support and growing AI features, which make workflows smoother, reduce manual effort, and help teams stay aligned and deliver more efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
One downside of Jira is that it can feel complex and overwhelming, especially for new users. Setting up and maintaining workflows can take time, and performance may slow down with large projects. Sometimes the interface isn’t very intuitive, and too many features can make simple tasks feel more complicated than they need to be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira solves the challenge of keeping projects organized and visible across teams. It centralizes tasks, priorities, and progress, which reduces miscommunication and helps everyone stay aligned. This benefits us by improving planning, speeding up delivery, and making it easier to track issues, collaborate efficiently, and respond quickly to changes.
