  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA has tons of flexibility within its approach
What do you dislike about the product?
Because of its flexibility, it can be difficult to use in larger organizations unless teams follow some standards. And that's sometimes the issue within my organization
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our group uses JIRA to manage our product backlog, complete with various stories and bugs representing work for our mainframe team.

Best tool for Bug tracing and Project Management

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I find Jira impressive due to its versatile project management capabilities. Its centralized platform effectively tracks tasks, issues, and projects, fostering collaboration among teams. The ability to customize workflows, utilize reporting features, and integrate with various tools makes it a popular choice for agile development and project tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Jira challenging initially due to its complexity and learning curve. Although customization options are powerful, setting them up requires careful management to avoid a complex configuration. The pricing model, particularly for larger teams, could be seen as a drawback for some organizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira addresses challenges in project management by providing a centralized platform for task and issue tracking. Its versatility benefits me by enhancing collaboration within teams, streamlining project workflows, and offering reporting features for better insights. The customizable nature of Jira allows for tailored solutions, contributing to efficient agile development and project tracking.

Jira is a highly effective tool for managing and tracking software development projects

What do you like best about the product?
Jira's user interface is intuitive and user-friendly, which is beneficial for QA teams who often deal with numerous test cases and bug reports. Jira seamlessly integrates with various test management systems which enables QA teams to create, manage, and track test cases directly within Jira, providing a centralized platform for all testing activities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Out of the box, Jira does not focus extensively on test case management. Teams frequently need to integrate with third-party test management tools to handle detailed QA processes effectively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira fosters collaboration through features like comments, @mentions, and shared dashboards. This enhances communication within the QA team and between QA, development, and other stakeholders, making it easier to clarify requirements, discuss issues, and track decisions. Jira’s reporting features are quite extensive, offering various reports like burn-down charts, sprint reports, and velocity charts. These are valuable for QA teams to track progress, identify bottlenecks, and assess the overall efficiency of testing efforts within the project lifecycle.

Jira has greatly improved our business management with applications

What do you like best about the product?
I consider that Jira is very agile, this makes it an ideal tool for groups that use scrum or other agile methods in the creation and management of software. - Another element that I like is the great customization offered by the platform, it offers a high customization capacity that allows me to change the distribution of my time according to the specifics of my work. - Jira's integration environment is truly varied and one of its most important features is variety. With continuous integration tools such as Jenkins and Communication Platforms such as Slack, Jira becomes the hub of all activities related to the work.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have noticed that although it is generally feature rich, its user screen can give the impression that it is cluttered and unclear at certain times. I constantly have to double click on various screens and menus to find particular features or settings that have the ability to slow down my ability to be productive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira is an exceptional lifecycle management and app development aid that has become a standard in computing today. Its speedy assistance, particularity, breadth of integration, ecosystem, ability to generate narratives, collaborative functions and good difficulty administration make it a totality for software development groups. Jira has made a huge improvement in the productivity and efficiency of the teams I have used and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve software development procedures and provide quality products.

What do you dislike about the product?
Expensive, Resource Intensive and Customization Overhead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a project manager leading a dynamic team in the software development industry, Jira Core has been a game-changer for us. One of the most significant challenges we faced before implementing Jira Core was the lack of a centralized system to manage our projects efficiently. Here's how Jira Core addressed our pain points and brought about tangible benefits

Capable of adjusting to different project management methodologies, especially Agile ones. Changes to the workflow, dynamic boards, and simple transitions between Scrum, Kanban, etc. are made easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Those looking for a more straightforward solution may find the platform's extensive capability to be a drawback.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Jira helps the team navigate the many tasks and deadlines of project management.

2. The platform functions as a hub for epics, storylines, and subtasks, as well as a collaborative workspace.

What do you like best about the product?
Jira offers you the possibility to develop jobs with a specific pattern that match your group's specific procedure. This elasticity gives groups the ability to change Jira according to their particularities. Jira supports agile delivery methods, including Scrum and Kanban. It offers agile workbenches, a work-in-progress manager and milestone planning tools to support groups in managing their work in an effervescent way. Jira is notable for its difficulty tracking capability, this enables groupings to create, distribute, prioritize and track issues and labors over the course of their existence cycle. Each issue can have additional information, files and comments. Jira provides customizable dashboards that allow you to view project progress, track key performance metrics, and generate various documents and graphs.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Jira is a great product, here are some parts that I didn't like: Complexity: Jira may be overwhelming for novices due to the variety of features and configurations. Steep knowledge curve: Learning to use Jira in a neat way can take time, particularly for staff members who are new to the app. Customization overload: Although Jira is known primarily for its customization, it can also lead to complexity and inconsistency if not managed properly. Performance issues: Some users have reported problems with performance, specifically with respect to large amounts of difficulty or users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

User of JIRA since 2019 in agile methodology within IT software industry

  • January 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a user, it becomes easy to keep a track of work done with help of JIRA. Features like setting up a completion date of a task, reporter and assignee helps in reminding about assigned tasks and remaining days.
Keeping a record of actionss taken in a particular JIRA story/test etc, helps in maintaining a record.
Logging work hours helps in keeping track and record for team efforts.
What do you dislike about the product?
User experience with JIRA is fine, however I can not say the same about user interface of JIRA as did not find the same user friendly.
Seems like due to points calculation system (points logged during a sprint) causes inorrect reports sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a lead, it becomes tough to track the efforts and organizing the tasks within the team.
With JIRA, it is very easy to create and assign a task to dedicated team member, set up a completion/due date that causes delivery on time.
From QA perspective, it is convinient to log a defect/bug and assign it to respective developer/team member for tracking purpose.
JIRA creates a sense of responsibilty for each member in team to complete their assigned tasks on time, keep a track of tasks along with finding velocity of the team as well.
