Jira’s Flexible Workflows and Integrations Streamline Engineering Projects

  • February 18, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira's flexibility and depth make it the go-to project management tool for engineering teams. The ability to create custom workflows, issue types, and boards tailored to our team's processes is invaluable. Sprint planning and backlog management are intuitive, and the deep integrations with tools like Confluence, Bitbucket, and Slack streamline our entire development cycle. The reporting features — velocity charts, burndown charts, and cumulative flow diagrams — give real visibility into team progress and help us improve sprint by sprint.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira's main drawback is its complexity — the configuration options are vast and can overwhelm new users, leading to a steep onboarding curve. Performance tends to slow down in large instances with many projects and tickets, particularly on the cloud version. The UI, while functional, feels cluttered, and simple tasks like searching across projects or creating recurring tickets require more steps than they should. Pricing also scales quickly as team size grows, making it harder to justify for smaller teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira serves as our central hub for software development project management. Before adopting it, our team struggled with fragmented task tracking across spreadsheets and emails, which made sprint coordination and cross-team visibility nearly impossible. With Jira, we now run structured agile sprints with clear ownership, priorities, and acceptance criteria for every ticket. This has reduced our average time-to-delivery by enabling us to catch blockers early and keep all stakeholders aligned in real time, all within a single platform.

I really like the Kanban board of Jira; it's very good. It's great that you can communicate with more than 10 teams at a single meeting or at a single point in time. Also, Jira is very intuitive, with the user interface being more intuitive in many senses, which reduces manual effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that Jira might not be suitable for small projects and small tasks. It is mostly built for big enterprise clients.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira helps me manage project tasks and their deadlines across my team effectively.

From Backlog to Deployment — Jira Keeps Everything Aligned

  • February 17, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I work closely with Developers, QA teams and project managers, I like best about Jira is how structured and organized it keeps our work. every deployment , bug, infrastructure change or incident tasks is tracked properly through tickets, it gives full visibility of spring progress, backlog items and release planning , i especially appreciate the ability to create customer workflows that match our DevOps lifecycle from development to staging to production, the kanban and scrum boards are very helpful for tracking tasks in real time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira is powerful but sometimes it feels slightly complex especially for new users , the numbers of configuration options can be overwhelming at first, also performance can be slow down if there are too many custom fields or heavy workflows. proper setup and maintenance are important to keep it efficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In DevOps tracking changes and incident is very important, before structured tools like Jira , tasks were sometimes, tracked in emails or chats messages which caused confusions, Jira solves this by centralizing all task and bugs, deployment changes and incident reports in one place, during production incident, we log everything properly root cause , resolution steps and follow up tasks, this improves accountability and makes post mortem reviews easier. it also helps in release management we can clearly see which tickets are part of which release version, this improves deployment planning and reduces mistakes.

  • February 17, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the ease of use with Jira, making it simple to track back to previous sprints, stories, and EPICs for reporting. It's easy to track my work and report or mark blockers for necessary help. I also like its integration with Confluence and Teams, which notifies me immediately of any assigned stories so I can quickly check them and plan my work. Linking reference materials for new stories on Confluence is really convenient. Setting up teams or groups is also very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the lack of integration with Outlook a bit of a hassle. If Outlook was integrated, I could easily send notifications to the concerned people about blocked stories. Right now, this process requires manual effort and is quite time-consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira provides real-time tracking for project management, allowing complete visibility of work breakdown and progress. It integrates well with tools like Confluence and Teams, facilitating easy updates and planning. I appreciate how it helps me track my stories and manage blockers efficiently.
