Review of Jira platform

  • March 07, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira helps in creating tickets and allocating work. It's one of the best tools for resources and management and for project management purposes. It is also easily integrable with other software.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that while creating the tickets fields are not customizable. Almost always we need to specify everything in every field which is cumbersome. Also, sometimes hard to navigate between tickets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira has solved the biggest problem of bug tracking. While QCing is one of the homegrown annotation platforms JIRA has helped a lot in tracking bugs and staying on the same page.

Industry standard when it comes to ticket management

  • March 07, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that when I start working at a new company, I already know their ticketing tool. Most companies use this, just like how popular Microsoft Office or Google Docs are. I also like that many tasks can easily be automated.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can be complicated to set up things that should be easy. They support rich workflows while sometimes all you need is something simple, so it does complexify things unnecessarily in somes cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to track the work that needs to be done, prioritize it, and measure progress around what's left to be done. It also allows us to remain compliant as per our different processes that are in place within our organization.

A classic tool for software projects that has improved the usability in recent years

  • March 05, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira has been known as a go to tool for managing software development projects. In the last few years, Atlassian simplified some of the things with team managed projects and different project templates that opened the door for the rest of the org. teams to use Jira. When everyone in the org. uses Jira, all the work can be visible, searchable, linkable. That's what I like about Jira the most.

Jira also comes with very powerful native automations that beats everything I've seen in the project managment tools to this day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Configuring Jira projects and workflows can be intimidating at first. You can easily cause problems for many teams if you are not sure what you are doing. For example, if you go into the workflow editing and try to rename one of the status from "in progress" to something else, chances are that you just modified the workflows for all the teams. But if you know what you are doing, there is quite a lot of flexibility in terms of what you can do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past years I've used Jira for many different purposes. Most often it is a central place for all development teams backlogs and incident tracking. I've also used it for roadmaps, product design process tracking, data conversion run books, and even full fledged CRM.

An easy to use task manager

  • March 05, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is an excellent tool to organize all the tasks in a project and assign them to a specific person who is working on it and keep track of it. Compared to its competitors JIRA is a one-stop solution for managing and tracking your program.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first, JIRA can be hard for new users to understand. They can understand the basics and start using it. But for using it really efficiently you need a little practice and training.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JIRA helps in tracking the project's progress. Communicating with the team in the comment section so that no conversation is lost ever. Getting sprint insights to plan a better sprint.

I love Jira. Easy to use, lots of options and customizations.

What do you like best about the product?
Easily track my teams work. Lots of reports to help gain insights on how the development teams are doing. It can auto connect to a number of other platforms. It's flexible by team and board. Overall, easy to use and implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
We just moved to Company managed boards and I dislike two things: I want to make it so only Bugs have a priority. The fact that I can't set a no priority for things that are non bugs is incredibly annoying. There is a hacky way to hide it but it should just be built into the platform.

Also, I would love the epics to work in the reports to be visible in the reports too. When we have epics and need to do time tracking, I used to be able to copy this information and not I need to click into everything to get the epic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a central place for bug tracking (on top of Zendesk which we use as well) and also using it for all work tracking for our Development teams. It helps collaborate on a team in this new hybrid/remote world as well as allow for easier updates up and down using other Atlassian products.

What do you like best about the product?
One single place where incidents, bugs, work items can be tracked.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing that I dislike about JIRA as it's very user friendly and can be easily customised.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JIRA is where we write Epics, Stories and track their progress. We also file and maintain Bugs in JIRA. Prepare scrum boards and follow it.

JIRA for ticketing gets my vote

  • February 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA allows support and engineering to view, create tickets, and assign priority to tickets. The ease with which to follow the progress of the ticket is wonderful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Within JIRA, there is an option to follow the progress of tickets; however, the notifications sometimes do not seem to work or may not populate. This does cause some lag in SLA for support teams that use these notifications to provide updates to customers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira is allowing support tickets to be created that can be worked on by the engineering team seamlessly. This allows both teams to work in conjunction without having to go back and forth, allowing customers to be assisted expeditiously.

Jira -The best management tool

  • February 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Extremely user-friendly and with no complications at all.
What do you dislike about the product?
To set up Jira for your company, one must pay the amount.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Through Jira, you can create list of items and backlogs. You can start and track the sprint with all items, including bugs and features. Jira also provides you with various user roles and access to give rights to the manager or scrum master to add/drop items. Jira also provides a graphical representation of failed/passed test-cases and a well-maintained representation of active sprint board.
