Using Jira to direct highly successful initiatives

  • January 20, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira offers an easy-to-use user interface with features familiar to users of Microsoft or Google office suite products. Simultaneously, it provides enough capability and options for a professional software engineer or development team manager, so there is no need to switch from one solution to another, depending on your audience. With Jira, you can customize how much detail you want in each project: Use the simple 'track board' function as needed; attach git accounts, demo results, and videos; link up with other productivity applications like Slack for automated alerts. Whether your needs are - beginners level organization tasks through complex custom integrations needing experienced specialists – Jira meets them head-on!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn't say I like the lack of flexibility in Jira when it comes to keeping track of and reporting events. Its UX often needs to be revised by project managers who resort to Google Sheets instead. Additionally, because its user fees are based on the number of users, teams rarely have enough extra members to monitor various areas, making it challenging for everyone involved to stay updated with current progress.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira is a versatile application that can achieve multiple goals, including creating releases or sprints, assigning tasks and collecting feedback from teams, tracking issues, generating test cases and executing them, recording any defects discovered during testing phases, and mapping dependencies between different stages of the project. It also offers progress reporting capabilities.
