Great tool for Agile Teams
What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a great tool for Kanban & Scrum processes to keep track of task and team member workloads.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not the best mobile app. Reports are not reusable. Slightly not user-friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira allows me to be able to stay on top of personal tasks.
Particular like the Kanban viewing, which is also highly customizable and automatable.
Also, I personally like being able to have visibility of what projects are dependent on other teams/members and vice-versa.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
It will take a bit of training to get familiar with using Jira. Best to have a Scrum Master who is also familiar with this tool.

Best software for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
I am using Jira to manage my product, and it is by far the easiest and helpful tool for collaboration. It helps build custom workflows and manage timelines through the tool.

It is expensive when compared to other Open source tools, but the ability to customize it makes it worth it.

Extremely versatile but complex software
What do you like best about the product?

Amazing Project Management Software
What do you like best about the product?
JIRA has a lot of elegant features and tools for project and product management. I enjoy the ability to search the entire log of tickets and categorize everything by custom labels, epics, versions, etc. I also like adding attachments to every ticket, which makes everything very organized and readily available.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not a whole lot to dislike. It can be tough to learn at first as a new user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been able to put my ideas into JIRA, execute, and release new features. I'm also able to help solve overall company organization by utilizing JIRA. Some of the benefits are project tracking, search functionality, and ticket priority features.
Not perfect for marketing – but IT types love it
What do you like best about the product?
All the comment and interaction history involved with a given project is right there. I really don't have to go too far off a given issue to find what I'm looking for. Having a Kanban board right inside the application is also helpful, depending on how you feel about Kanban boards. It's also fairly easy to find an older project, though this functionality can get proportionally less useful the more projects you're running through Jira.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like a lot of programs of this ilk, it's garbage-in/garbage-out. If everyone is not entirely on board and documenting what they're doing, the program's best features become sort of useless. This is especially true if you have a key person do some of their communicating on the platform and some off the platform. It's not an either-or thing; you need to be documenting everything on Jira for Jira to do what it's supposed to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned earlier, it is great for complex projects that involve multiple people and departments. It's a boon to project managers. And it can help virtual organizations with far-flung employees get and stay on the same page.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Assess your project-management needs and shortcomings. Do you need a dedicated PM solution? Are projects going off the rails?

corporate collaboration, knowledge base for internal and external use

Great project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the intuitive "project board" UX. It's easy to see what still needs to be completed vs. what is already completed, and the configuration options are plentiful.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI changes can catch the team and me by surprise. Sometimes lesser known options (i.e. "below the fold" details) can be hard to find when needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our different team functions (Product, Engineering, QA) are all on the same page now. We all have clear ownership of our processes, and as a result, shared ownership of the whole process.
This is the most widely used issue tracking solution.
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to create tickets for bugs or new development.
What do you dislike about the product?
If not configured properly, there can sometimes be too many ticket details to fill out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for planning new development and reporting bugs.

Confusing between the two different types of projects (managed and self-managed)
