    Efficient but Needs UI Improvement

    Reviewed on Jun 06, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Jira bifurcates issues of any current software development problem, helping us examine difficulties based on user stories. I also like the report-based feature, making it easy to view the burndown chart and user performance. As a senior developer, I use the burndown chart and velocity report to understand how the user story is performing. I enjoy the flexibility of Jira, especially the ability to add custom fields and customize the current sprint board. Switching to Jira was beneficial as it offers better reporting for both the business and development teams. The initial setup was quick and very easy for us, allowing us to set up a project without hassle.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI of Jira can be improved a bit since it's just okish. There are so many options to go through when editing, which can be overwhelming. Sometimes Jira is a little laggy, especially when working on a slow internet connection, and it takes time to load when opening a user story.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Jira for project management, and it solves software development issues by bifurcating problems. It helps me track user story difficulties and view performance with reports like burn down charts, benefiting both the business and development teams with better reporting.

Automation-Driven Efficiency, But Setup Can Be Tricky

    Reviewed on Jun 05, 2026

What do you like best about the product?
I love the rules in Jira that provide automation, so I don't have to remember it. They help me with tasks that need to happen when certain other things occur, allowing me to not worry about it. It just works without me doing anything.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest improvement is to make releases global. Rather than specific to a project or space. It was kinda difficult. Jira is very robust, and so it's hard to understand it at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira helps us track project schedules, know if we're behind, and plan accurately with velocity tracking. It provides dashboards for necessary reporting and automates things I often forget, making tasks easier.

Flexible, Powerful Issue Tracking with Excellent Agile Support

    Reviewed on Jun 05, 2026

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Jira is its flexibility and powerful issue tracking capabilities. It makes it easy to manage projects, track tasks, and collaborate across teams. The support for Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban is excellent, and the customizable workflows help align the platform with different team processes. I also appreciate the reporting and dashboard features that provide clear visibility into project progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about Jira is that it can feel overwhelming for new users due to the large number of features and configuration options. Setting up workflows and permissions may require some learning, and the interface can sometimes feel complex when managing large projects with many issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira solves the challenge of managing projects, tracking tasks, and coordinating work across teams. It provides a centralized platform where all project activities, requirements, bugs, and progress can be tracked efficiently. This helps improve team collaboration, increases transparency, and ensures tasks are completed on time. For me, it helps keep projects organized and provides better visibility into ongoing work.

Great for Visibility, But Feels More Performative Than Productivity-Boosting

    Reviewed on Jun 04, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Jira helps me keep the measurement fanatics at bay . It doesn't help me accomplish work faster though. It does help me show what I have done, allow micromanagers to see that, and keep them at some distance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira has become a performative tool, meaning that the rituals and performance of tasks are often seen by the micromanagers as more important than the actual work to be performed. In other words, it does not help anyone execute faster, but it helps the management level feel like they have control. People often waste more time arguing about what type of issue, epic, story, task, etc. than actually accomplishing work as people like to claim 'ownership' of input and work rather than perform the actual work to be done. The additions of goals and other measurement ideas means that now work has to be done in triplicate, or more times to measure the one action that is actually required to be done. It has become the grease on the tracks, ensuring that the train of actual work does not gain traction at the speed of getting things done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It keeps managers off my back, and it helps clients measure work being done. It benefits me when I can point the "checkers" at the work that has been done, though I often do the work and create the tickets to prevent the impediments of the unnecessary questions of "why are you doing that? I need to know what's happening!" because of fear, lack of control, or some other reason. I can get things done first that need to be done by anticipating the needs rather than waiting for someone to assign work late in the process.

Excellent Integrations and Automation That Keep Teams Aligned

    Reviewed on Jun 04, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Jira’s UI is functional but takes time to learn; integrations with Slack, GitHub, and Confluence are excellent and automate most of our workflow. Performance is solid for day-to-day use, though large boards and the mobile app can lag. Pricing is steep for Premium, but ROI is strong since it replaced 3 other tools and cut status meetings. Onboarding is mostly DIY with decent docs but slow support unless you’re Enterprise. Atlassian Intelligence helps with auto-generating issue descriptions and JQL, cutting busywork even if it needs review. Overall, it’s heavy but scales well and keeps dev, PM, and QA aligned in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira’s UI feels cluttered and click-heavy for new users, with simple edits taking too many steps. Performance drops on large backlogs and the mobile app is slow and limited. Pricing jumps sharply from Free to Standard to Premium, and useful features like advanced permissions are paywalled. Onboarding has a steep learning curve; setup and workflows are DIY, and support response times are slow without Enterprise. Integrations are powerful but configuring them often needs an admin and breaks after updates. Atlassian Intelligence still hallucinates in JQL and gives generic suggestions, so you can’t trust it blindly. Overall, it’s overkill for small teams and admin overhead eats time you’d rather spend shipping.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira solves visibility and chaos across teams by centralizing all work, ownership, and status in one place instead of scattered docs and Slack threads. It killed our endless status meetings because anyone can check a board and see what’s blocked, in progress, or done. Traceability from bug -> story -> code -> deploy means we debug faster and have clean audit trails for releases. Automations handle handoffs and notifications, so work doesn’t stall waiting on people. The benefit: we ship faster with fewer dropped tasks, less misalignment between dev/PM/QA, and stakeholders get real-time updates without us writing them.

Powerful Project and Task Management Platform

    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Jira helps our team manage projects, tasks, and bug tracking in one place. I like its customizable workflows, sprint planning features, and integration with tools like GitHub and Confluence. The dashboards and reporting features make it easy to track progress, identify bottlenecks, and improve team collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira has a steep learning curve for new users, and setting up projects, workflows, and permissions can sometimes be complex. The interface can feel overwhelming when managing large projects with many issues. Additionally, some advanced features require extra configuration, and performance may occasionally slow down when working with very large datasets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira helps us track tasks, bugs, incidents, and project progress in a structured way. It provides clear visibility into ongoing work, priorities, and team responsibilities. By integrating with development and DevOps tools, Jira improves collaboration between developers, testers, and operations teams. This has helped us reduce manual tracking, improve sprint planning, resolve issues faster, and deliver projects more efficiently.
