JIRA - Your Application Management tool

  • July 12, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a lightweight software, is easy to use, and has many project management capabilities.
You can use it as a Tester for bugs life cycle, use it as an Admin to make and enable workflows, As a BA to report requirements as a STORY/EPIC, As an Agile expert to manage sprints and dashboards.
It has capabilities for all roles in a software development life cycle.
What do you dislike about the product?
The JQL scripts are a little challenging to use. Nested JQL's don't work very well. The test cases writing capabilities are not as good, and we need external integration with Zypher to import test cases. Also, while uploading test cases, they have a bulk upload feature, but it has a limited capability of only 250 Cases in a go. So if you want to migrate your regression suit, it will take a while to upload it all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managing everyday team tasks status - assignment and completions and creating dashboards to check the progress of multiple tasks in one go. Enable test cases linkage and execution in accordance with the CR/Stories and epics in a release. We are also using it to mark implementations of stories by Developers.

JIRA simplifies integration with many content management software.

The most efficient and effective way to report and track bugs

  • July 08, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Most of our external and internal services are managed with JIRA . That's the reason I like JIRA—because it's so flexible. JIRA allows you to assign issues to the right team in the workplace and flag and resolve issues based on their status. A great feature of JIRA is its ability to share internal team communication via a blog.
What do you dislike about the product?
In order for the system to work properly, there may be a need for training. This is especially important for administrators who are responsible for configuring JIRA in their workplace.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing projects has become easier with JIRA. Collaboration between departments is better and production has improved overall.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
With the different permissions, it can be difficult to monitor all user activities. The process is already underway and needs to be made easier.

Feature rich task tracking system

  • July 05, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The customizable workflow is one of the most attractive features of Jira that drew my attention. Advanced search and filtering are also much appreciated. The speed at which search results are provided is commendable. Dashboard customization and the ability to showcase in several forms is one of the other attractions. I just like the pie chart view and the bar graph view.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile app variation of Jira requires strict attention. The application is not at all user-friendly and often hangs when multiple operations are attempted. The documentation part needs to be improved. Sometimes it's a bit tricky to figure out how some features work. I have felt that Jira is designed mainly for cloud-based solutions. Generally, I think that Jira is primarily meant for cloud-based applications rather than other kinds of applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Progress tracking was a pain when the team size was more significant. Jira helps me ease out the tracking process when the team involved is considerable. Sharing the progress report clearly and concisely, which is easier for a non-technical person, was another issue that I was facing. Jira also gave a solution for the same.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We moved from Trac to Jira. It's a giant leap. Prepare for the fantabulous features of Jira if you are moving in from some old tracking software. jira is not that cehap its quiet expensive, so ensure you are making worth of every penny spend. Give a training to your team so that they can ake the most out of Jira.

All-in-one PM tool from the house of Atlassian!

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to add multiple projects, tag sprint deliverables to releases, and raise bugs. The level of detailing is commendable, as in, every deliverable can be assigned an owner, and image/video/text/comments can be added to describe the deliverable/bugs. Along with that we can also track time for each deliverable, which will help you design your project roadmap better and estimate tentative time for each deliverable. Another feature would be the classification of Issues into Bugs, Stories and Epic depending on the nature of the problem, and track history of bug status by date/application version.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's way too many features that remain unexplored in Jira. Sometimes, it can be overwhelming for a new user because of its complexity. It can be simplified to an extent I feel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
End-to-end Project Management being the Lead Project for my organization. The ability to work with cross-functional teams, break down sprints into deliverables, assign dependencies, time tracking, and finally making the release helps manage my daily activities in the most organised manner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Choose Jira if you have to manage big projects along with a lot of dependencies. It definitely makes your life easier.

Easy to use with a lot of integrations that increase the efficiency and management of the project and the team.
From ticket-workflow management to test and task automation, this tool has everything a team needs in order to achieve their project goals!
What do you dislike about the product?
The price might lead small companies to not choose this tool because its entrance cost is high and team growth costs are even higher.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ticket automation has helped in preventing doing the same monotonous tasks in every ticket, such as changing a field and assigning the ticket to the QA always.
Integration with Xray is a tremendous plus and also integration with Atlassian accounts have helped to follow a Single Sign In approach

  • July 02, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With Jira, you can plan the sprint, create the tasks, manage the tasks and user stoies, tracks the issues for teams planning and building a great product. The best part of choosing Jira is to capture and organize issues, assign work, and follow team activity. It has the scrum boards and Kanban boards so teams can see the workflows and progress of tasks. It will be easy to understand which tasks are running smoothly and which ones are causing issues. It is the best project management software I have used which is easy to use, manage and do development with proper planning.
What do you dislike about the product?
It will be a bit challenging for the users which are from a non-technical background. The setup initial setup for Jira is a bit challenging and needs proper training for the end-user before using it. It doesn’t have the timeline view for the tasks. The mobile version of Jira is not that much user-friendly. Overall the design of Jira is complex and confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Best for agile development, customize the workflow, and best for management & collaboration among the teams.
Benefits:
- Bug tracking and issue management
- Customizable
- Support agile and Scrum project management
- Generate reports

Easy to use platform for ticket management

  • July 01, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Jira has an easy-to-use ticket management platform for feature-creating or help desk-type of cases. I've also used Jira for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) before, and it was also simple to configure for that process.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say that the only thing I dislike about Jira is that the design is outdated in terms of user interface and interactions. As it has a more traditional design, it's not the best to always use and doesn't have that clean, simple aesthetic as other platforms I use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira gives us a centralized location to track tickets for different departments. We're realized the benefits of more streamlined operations and processes that require such tickets when there is cross-functional management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend using Jira's community forum for help on best practices and any other features that are suggested by other users who use Jira the same way that you do.

Having more than 5 years of experience using Jira as issue tracking tool.

  • June 28, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It supports the whole SDLC. A complete package for project management. It supports both Kabban and Scrum. It provides various reports for project management and issue tracking like time tracking, works done, and workload. Very easy to set up on the cloud and give permissions. It is a highly customized application that fulfills almost all requirements related to project management based on team structure and size.
What do you dislike about the product?
One I found in Jira, i.e., when we are pasting any URL in comment/description, it is considered plain text. Another problem that I see is its limit to the size of the file.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Jira to implement the Agile methodology of software development. Agile is most common across the whole software industry. We are using it for resource management and issue tracking. It allows to set up each project with a unique under that all sprint/story/task/subtask can be identified.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is best tool for project management and issue tracking.
