Decent Tool, could be better

  • June 27, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira allows for the tracking and documenting of key components of a deliverable or task. These include assigner, assignee, due date, status, and the opportunity to comment. It allows for team members to view tasks and filter based on different task components (e.g. who it is assigned to, status, epic, etc.)
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult to find tickets once you make them. Sometimes the tickets go to areas that are not intuitive and need to be moved after being created. Also, a lot of people view Jira as 'overhead,' and it can be viewed as a nuance. The Jira boards can also get cluttered and are not always up to date. Most of these issues arise of how a company utilizes the tools. However, Jira could make it more 'fun' or 'user friendly' to encourage individuals to utilize the tool regularly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our organization and team have a lot of tasks to track. Many of these tasks come up sporadically and are urgent fixes. Jira allows our team to track these tasks and provide updates accordingly. The ability to track tasks is especially important given that we are working remotely and at different times and different time zones. We are also able to provide critical updates and information in the Jira ticket. This helps us to preserve a record of what was done in case we need to look back and complete knowledge transfer of the process.

Flexible and configurable to your needs

  • June 26, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The possibility to configure the queries and dashboards in a short time and easy way is excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not intuitive, and you need time to read and investigate, which discourages people from trying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having multiple teams working in the same backlog is significant; by having components plus quick filters, I solve the problem.

Good way of organizing tickets, but gets complicated.

  • June 25, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that Jira makes things very organized and able to compile lots of information.
What do you dislike about the product?
When you have hundreds of tickets, if you do not link tickets to epics, the tickets can be lost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compiling tickets to send them to developers is the current process we are implementing. This makes "changing hands" very quick and efficient.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jira has a good platform. For tracking work in progress, Jira does a great job. When you have hundreds of tickets and multiple projects, Jira can get messy.

Task management becomes easy and seamless with JIRA.

  • June 25, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is very good for task management, especially with creating test scripts. The ability to upload steps via CSV file comes in handy. It also does an excellent job of notifying relevant users via email. I have found JIRA to be user friendly and also suitable for power users who want to extract the most out of this platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the administration can get a little bit confusing. A simple workflow or guided suggestions might be helpful. I am not an administrator myself but cannot find the issue, which often ends up being authorization-related. So, it would be great to know the root cause for the right party to get the alert.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JIRA solves the problem of testing multiple scripts across functional units. The ability to log defects and track them, the assignment of different users, the possibility to watch specific issues are all beneficial.

The move from a version to another, especially with significant changes on users interface, could put the users sometimes in complex manipulation issues.

Customized workflow to follow the projects, tasks, and issue tracking.
Integrating Jira with other tools to raise issues to a designated team to fix them.
Following and splitting the teamwork.
