Jira follows our projects from beginning to end

  • December 17, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is used to write down everything about our application in development and the team of developers, so it is possible to organize work schedules, objectives on which dates the content should be shared, and to comment on specific parts of the progress
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira can't integrate with project management services based on agendas and dashboards, as in the case of Monday.com, which makes it difficult to export the content of Gantt charts made within Monday.com
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With jira it is possible to make analyses within the current markets of application development with the objective of informing us about the most profitable moment to launch our project, so that we can create the best and most structured launch plan
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We recommend jira because it is unquestionably the best software for tracking the entire process of creating online applications, allowing us to create notes about the start and development, and schedule its release in future dates

Great Product Management Tool

  • December 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that our company uses Jira as the main product management tool within the company. It is so helpful in keeping track across all the teams I work with. We have several engineering teams, as well as support teams, so Jira makes it super simple to manage the work across all the teams, platforms and issues that come up on a daily basis. I also love that it works for both short and long term projects. We use Jira for our sprint planning, as well as our yearly roadmap planning. It's nice that it can all be located in one place so that we don't have to manage different applications and manually keep up with the projects that we are in charge of.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were better roadmapping capabilities. We do quarterly planning, and we sometimes find it hard to keep track of all the projects we have when they are just in the "backlog". A storyboarding or whiteboard feature that could be real time or at least up to date and collabortative in Jira would be really helpful to help with quarterly planning for our team. Especially when working from home, this feature would be really helpful in making sure everyone is on the same page and that everyone has a chance to contribute their ideas so they don't get lost in the backlog.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira to coordinate both long and short term project across different teams, everywhere from engineering, to support to international teams.

Jira is very useful for agile teams and for coordinating development work

  • December 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to comment on and track conversations and story notes. Copy/paste images, attachments and format stories to make them look good without any problems. The interface is fast and pleasant to use. It is very suitable for agile methods and very easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
A good example of "the ticket you get". If it is not marked, it can be complicated and overwhelming. Some tools and research on this will help guide users to use Agile correctly. Lack of features to track tests and pass/fail Reports and some graphical features are missing. Better ways to track burnout, speed, etc. are needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is used to coordinate the work and presentations of multiple stakeholders and users, and to estimate the completion of the project. Most software development teams use it to plan agile projects and coordinate with stakeholders, as well as to track speed and estimated completion dates.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You need a team of at least 4 people to use this function. Otherwise, this element alone will be excessive in installation and configuration.

Great experience for Agile teams and product management!!

What do you like best about the product?
Creating tasks, sub-tasks, and spikes is the best thing to use it.
Great ticketing system for all teams like support, Developers, and Quality teams.
Search filters and assignment of tasks is really easy to use.
Jira comes with lots of customizable fields. Due dates, assignees, labels, etc and makes it very easy to manage everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile app of JIRA is not so comprehensive in nature and the user has to navigate a lot to manage everything.
The user interface is not so easy for everyone.
Auto-refresh is something Jira is missing, if you are stuck with the board, sometimes you need to refresh twice to make it work.
The cost of the licensing could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing complete departments for issues, like support, QA development, etc.
Tracking big projects in a timely manner.
login important discussions based on priorities and that is something we are focused on and saving a lot of time.
Integration with Jira products like Hipchat, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc saving a lot of time in data management.

Not the best UX on the market

  • December 10, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The software is full of capabilities and their support specialists are very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of opportunities for different cross-platform integrations with other products. Jira Could supports major operating systems and devices (desktop and mobile). Of course the most valuable for a fintech company like ours in Jira is the number of integrations and plugins that can be added, which I think was the resolution point in the question of selecting CRM/PM/ERP platform for entire company.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though there are a lot of opportunities to tune the tool just as you need it, it takes a lot of time to figure out how to do this, because the interface is not user friendly. Settings are scattered in different places and don't seem to have the clear logical reasoning to be where they are, which causes frustration. The best example is notifications, which are essential for PM and ERP tools. Notifications in bell menu are dependent on notifications on the email, which I have turned off and in fact stopped receiving ALL notifications, which is nonsense. "Watch" issue state is not assigned correctly to tickets or it is not clear how it works. subtasks are not visible in the backlog, so they are easily being ignored.
No official app for Linux and those for Mac/iOS are very limited on features, so I still prefer to use web version, which is not convenient from mobile though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basically, I use it for managing the Road map and Backlog. The ability to use multiple set of available integrations with 3rd party products is a very nice perk
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a valuable and professional tool, but hard to use

    Shubhangi S.

One of the best tools for product or project management

  • December 10, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is very flexible and fitted really well with agile work we carry out at our organisation. It supports kanban as well as standard sprint planning work flow and is quite flexible. It is extremely useful for project planning and creating user stories. These are saved in the backlog and you can sort them by their weight, estimate and priority.Easy to raise and track bugs and plan new sprint.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a bit over complicated as it offers a lot of flexible functionalities like switching between kanban and sprint boards for project planning and it takes a while for the user to get accustomed to it. It also requires a bit of training at first but it is worth the time and learning curve. Also, it is not very cheap and if you have a large team, the bills add up quickly as you need to pay for each user individually.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It aligns perfectly with the agile product management methodologies we use at our organisation and supports a lot of add-ons which makes things even easier as you have everything in one place and you do not miss out on anything.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it, it is very easy to track your backlogs, create and plan sprints and track bugs. You get everything in one place. It is a little expensive but it is definitely worth the price with all the integrations available and the flexibility it offers in terms of customisation.

Bug tracker? Jira can help

  • December 09, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira its a software that can help you to keep track of bugs and other kinds of projects, like system interactions, releases, etc. I like that you have the chance to install multiple plugins , that can help you with the integration of various tools like TestRail, it is super simple to use and you can personalize multiple templates for different purposes, like having special fields for your but template report.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my personal opinion I think that for a beginner, Jira its kind of difficult to use and understand, the menus are not super helpful and sometimes you have you click around to find something very simple or to find simple settings. The lack of icon personalization on templates limits the way you indicate your team if it is high priority or not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Every time we make a release, we use Jira to keep track of the progress of the features and also the progress of the bugs that appears on every test release, it helps us to keep track of the time we spent trying to solve a bug or how many resources we have for fixes or even who is owner of X amount of bug tickets.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jira can be a little bit hard core to understand at the begining, but the way it blends with other software and all the tool options it offers, it's a great deal for anyone, Jira its a super robust software that it is always innovating and trying to make your work as simple as possible.
