Easy and intuitive tool

  • October 13, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We had been using ServiceNow for our ticket and job development tracking. Jira makes the development cycle tracking a lot easier. It's intuitive and you don't have to spend a lot of time searching for what you need. The labels are helpful and the reports that you can create really give you an insight of your projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be even more amazing if you have the chance to create more levels than an Epic, a Story, and a Subtask. It will give you a lot more diversification for your projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been using it to track our development cycle. It has been truly helpful since it let us track the steps and the phases of each project and have the chance to share it.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Will like to get more information as I think it has a lot of potential but my company is not using it the way it should be for everyone.

  • October 11, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is the best product for Product Management where we can create Epics, stories inside those epics and bugs for each story. In short, we can track issues, bug tracking based on the priorities, organize the progress of each story, etc.I would say Jira is the best software for any agile development environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
No cons as of now. I can only see the pros of using Jira.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira is a project tracking software in any agile environment to plan, track and manage our projects. We can create Epics for any new project or feature which we want to release for any Software project. From initialisation stage to deployment stage, each and every activities can be tracked in Jira. We can create multiple stories for each epic by giving them the priotity and also time tracking can be done daily. Also, one can see the work log for every ticket which we create in Jira, making it easier for anyone across organisation to track the ticket efficiently.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Best product for Project Management in any Agile Development in any IT Industry. Every issue tracking is very easy and simple based on work history and time tracking. Also, priorites can be decided for every ticket which is the best part of Jira.

Jira is nice

What do you like best about the product?
It a widely known and used tool, Has a big community that supports it. The price is ok, The is an option to use It as a regular user and as an advanced user.
What do you dislike about the product?
The operation of Jira is too complexed, It has too many ways you can adjust anything and sometimes things can get messy and you can't find why, The advanced user mode needs some adjustment because of the proprietary language they use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ticket handling, It is really important to use a system to hold all the assignments, tasks, and bugs at the same system for better time management and task management. You can personalize your pages and flows as much as you want and need to make it better and easier.

Project management for big kids!

  • October 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
No stone is left unturned with Jira. Rarely am I confused on what my task is at any given time and when its due. The learning curve is a little steep at first in terms of what you need to look for and what may be visual noise, but once your eyes get the hang of it, it's super powerful.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you're not prepared or having somewhat of a busy day, the platform can be super overwhelming. If I have a lot of tasks to do, I feel overloaded with work because It's hard for me to understand what to prioritize. I know there's an urgency rating, but it can still be a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work for a big institution with hundreds of employees who are all working on their separate tasks that may or may not overlap with mine. Jira does an amazing job of making that overlap clear, so i'm not underperforming or over-performing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's overwhelming at first, but like i mentioned earlier, once you pass the learning curve, it's super powerful and you see your productivity rise tangibly

What do you like best about the product?
Its has numerous features, kind of endless.
Jira Graphical user interface is very user friendly.
Its the best tracking and documented way for user stories, bugs etc.
I like the timesheet feature, so no need to log hours in another portal.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes due to the large database, it hangs, and I have seen performance issues.
Very rare, but I have experienced it is offline for a few hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
From time to time I have given my feedback regarding the good things and issues I have faced so far and seen improvements in the latest updates.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Must use software for bug/user story tracking. It is the most used software in its field.

Jira helps you track your work items very efficiently

  • October 01, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The following are the few points which I like the most about this product:
- Jira helps you categorize your work items in various useful categories like Epic, Story, Task, Defect, etc.
- It helps you give access to all the individuals of only what is required.
- User Friendly GUI
What do you dislike about the product?
The following are the few points which can be improved in this product:
- When someone who doesn't have privilege to edit some task he needs to text it to the Scrum Master, instead there should be a feature which allows the person to edit it but it would be reflected to all once the Scrum Master approves the changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira extensively on a daily basis to track our work items assigned to all the individuals in the team. We also track all the Defects which are opened or in progress using this tool.

Overall it's essential for PM but it has his flaws

  • September 29, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
After some usage, it becomes pretty intuitive to use.
It's really well integrated with many other tools.
I like the Jira automation part, even though you should make it a bit more flexible.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the beginning, it takes a while to understand how to use it.
I found the next-gen projects much more limiting and difficult to personalize despite the fact that it was created to actually do the opposite.
I would like to create new non-mapped statuses but it's not something feasible anymore.
So for example, if I wanted to create a status "Closed" I can't do it unless I create a new column on my Sprint board.
Also I don't like the new filtering system. It was more intuitive before, while now you are almost always forced to go through the query functionality and can't filter much directly from the board as you could do before.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to manage my sprints and it helps me to keep everyone on track and on the same page. We keep track of our team velocity and we are able to adjust it according to how well we performed in the previous sprint. This allow us to manage the expectations properly and learn from our past experiences in order not to overcommit in the following sprints.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a small startup, consider something easier to use to manage your task like Trello or Asana.
