Meets requirements for Scrum and Kanban needs, but it overly crowded by loads of useless tools

  • July 17, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the board vs project set up that Jira has. I work with both Kanban and Scrum teams and it's nice for organizational purposes. I enjoy the control that I have over customizing each board or project. Some examples include issue types and column layouts.
What do you dislike about the product?
If Jira was simpler, I think it would have nailed what it offers. The software is drowning is details and random tools that bury the simplistic, and therefore, useful perks. I'm consistently getting lost in the thick of all of the tools that I never use on a day to day basis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I house all of the boards and projects that my agile teams run on in Jira. We love having a central location for the department to host all of our information as far as our project organization goes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are familiar with using software to manage different types of Agile teams, I think that you will do just fine with Jira. If you are new to Agile, I don't recommend diving into Jira. It's too busy and muddied by the many perks that you will never use.

Manage/Track your work

  • July 17, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its a best software to track and manage your work. I like the sync between the bitbucket and the jira, you can directly create the bitbucket branches from jira. Also you can use the visual studio code plugin to manage the jira directly from IDE.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its UI is bit complex to understand. I tried once it mobile version but it was too bad experience. Also you can't attach the file more than 10MB
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I create the user stories for each big tasks and create the sub-tasks inside that. You can check the whole workflow of a particular task with comments. There is good sync up between all Altassian products like jira, bitbucket and confluence.

A lot of tools and power...you might not always find yourself using them

  • July 16, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A lot of features, ability to view boards in Kanban and Todo styles, also nice to be able to use Epics and clone tickets. It allows for easy collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve to use JIRA is fairly high. To be honest I'm not sure of the exact cost of the service, but depending on your usage of it you may find that you don't use many of the features that make it worth its cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the best parts of using JIRA is reminding myself of either project items that are blocked, or managing collaborations with teammates in a way that you can easily see what is happening across the board. If you have a highly collaborative team using other channels, you may find less use for JIRA. Also if your team works more independently, JIRA might not be a perfect solution for all of your needs.

A Pretty Good Project Management Platform For Enterprises

  • July 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to tag teammates in comments allows for smooth interactions among larger teams. The development board and filters make it easy to track stories and bugs of different streams. Jira is good for large enterprises with multiple projects going simultaneously. You can quickly switch back and forth from the different Projects and Dashboards and you can even Clone Stories or Bugs between the different Projects. This really helps when you have Bugs in an integration with a different Project Team. You can easily tag someone from that team, or Clone the Bug and assign it to their next Development Sprint.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not able to drag and drop stories and bugs to new lanes or statuses like Trello is a bummer. Some of the fields in Stories and Bugs are not necessary and you can not hide them.

It is not easy to go back and find Stories or Bugs from completed Sprints. This may be my biggest complaint. When trying to find Bugs from your last Sprint deployment, you have to go deep into Reports. I had to perform Google-foo to find out this was even possible after trying for an hour.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Jira for a large, multi-national company's IT department. We track multiple Projects for different Development Teams through Jira. Jira has made collaboration between different Teams smooth and easy.

Jira is an essential tool in my day to day work

  • July 14, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of Jira for filing and tracking bugs is unmatched by any other services I have seen so far.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times I find it can be hard to locate specific issues using the search tool without advanced parameters.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Jira we are able to quickly and efficiently track and manage bugs, feature requests, projects and more.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need an easy way to manage teams, track and share projects and help keep track of pro they are doing, and easily communicate with other team members.

JIRA will work for you!

  • July 14, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is highly customizable, allows for wonderful automations, and expands with your team / effort. I love the ability to create a huge number of customer views, search filters, and boards for task management. JIRA allows you to focus from the small to HUGE with everything from sub-tasks to EPIC projects management efforts. Included in each of these is built in features to help you track time, help size efforts, and look at burn-down rate.

Beyond the default features JIRA allows you to HEAVILY customize your workflows, ticket templates, teams, etc. to fit into how you want to use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The highly customizable nature of JIRA means you can get into some headaches if you don't think through options.

The UI for JIRA continues to improve and change, but some changes can be a little dramatic and overall the UI seems to shift each release towards more simplicity. At times this can remove a feature your reliant on, and will make you go searching for it again.

The complex UI for JIRA also means that you might encounter some slowness when running it in your browser. Our team was able to create our own UI to help speed up certain views and make sure we only saw what we needed without slowdown.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use JIRA daily to help with team coordination. This gets us on the same page with documentation, search, and automation features we need to react quickly.

We also use JIRA to track product feedback and roadmap the future.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Really make sure you start out with a strong integration. Think through how you'll want to use it immediately and then years down the road.

JIRA review

  • July 14, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira helps you collaborate with lot of other softwares that is the best thing of jira, we used it in automotive environment where I used JIRA with the jama software to track the issue and if there was some change in the development process jira helped to navigate that change downstream in the process and helped to give an update to the respective designer about the issue. So traceability is one of the best in terms of change management with the help of Jira when used with a systems requirements software
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface where it shows the open issues and it's things used to keep track of all the issue interface is confusing for the beginners they don't have a inbuilt tutorial for the new members they should have something like tutorial to help with the initial stages for the new members
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used JIRA in the organization to solve issue tracking problems and connect JIRA for traceability in terms of change management if there is any change in the development phase they who is accountable for that change is being tracked

    Information Technology and Services

Its a very comprehensive project management platform, but almost too flexible.

  • July 14, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a very good platform for team organization, especially by using Agile/Scrum or Agile/Kanban. With its extensible platform through plugins you will never get tired of Jira. The installation is pretty much straightforward, and you can import from a lot of the current project management tools out there.
What do you dislike about the product?
We've been using for years, and since its web based, when the number of tasks and projects gets a lot, it loads pretty slow. So you do need to clean up from time to time. Also is super customisable, meaning if you're looking for something simple to start of with, I wouldn't go for Jira, Jira is more suited for organisations that wants the solution tailored to their processors and workflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were using a couple of project management tool previously, wanted to switch one solution that provides all the features needed.

  • July 11, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
Convenient software to keep all features and bug documentation in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
The transparency of what bugs are being worked on could be better
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving all of the user reported bugs through the Jire workflow
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jira is the most popular tool for a reason, go with the market leader.

What do you dislike about the product?
Zero Usability
Usability makes user spend lots of time understand the application
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was using for my office product bug tracking
Recommendations to others considering the product:
