So far I haven't found anything particular that brings a negative impact to my workflow.

Jira provides real-time ticket update notifications that connect all stakeholders on the same ticket. Keeping stakeholders updated is the most essential in a collaborative environment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For companies using Footprint/Microsoft TFS as workflow management system, Jira is definitely a better tool to use given its clear user interface and quick responses between actions. Besides, all functions are well defined with little learning effort.
JIRA: Its just fast

Next Gen Jira is great for a more rebust Trello
What do you like best about the product?
Recently Jira has started to update its user interface to be a lot more user friendly. In the past it has been designed to work well for large corporations but lacked the simplicity needed for smaller businesses to get up and running quickly.
Having the ability to have separate "sprints" and plan issues ahead of time has been an incredible asset. While a platform like Trello allows you to create a backlog and different boards for different topics, being able to plan sprints around a single 'project' is a much better way to scale projects. On top of that, moving issues around from high level epics makes multi month planning easier for technical project managers like myself and engineering managers.
Engineers shouldn't have to worry about the high level details like the order of epics. Having a separate 'road map' tab has been great to avoid clustering weekly sprints and bigger picture epics.

What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that it's confluence and jira products are separate entities. It is tricky navigating between the two. It would be great if were easier to navigate between confluence docs tied to jira issues. Another feature that would be great for Next Gen Jira would be having separate kinds of 'assignee's' so that you could assign more than 1 more to a sub task rather than having multiple nested issues.
While viewing issues on a board view is great and intuitive, it would be great to have a better 'view all issues for me' page. Currently it seems like that page is just an after though and not easy to get to or navigate around. My engineering manager has requested many times to be able to see issues broken out by person, and having a quick view of all the issues across all the ongoing projects organized by team member would be much easier than doing a custom search everyday.

We moved from Trello to Github and then to Jira because the need for more structure around code and task conversation increased. While the learning curve was slightly steep for some, having the visibility around month long tasks and day to day tasks has been great for the whole team. All tasks now have issues created for them. If someone is working on a task that doesn't have an issue, there is something wrong. That way we all make sure to plan weekly sprints accordingly. While the product manager is not directly involved in the day to day scrumming, being able to see the different issues moving across the board is helpful when presenting to stakeholders about progress.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Although there still is some stigma using Jira. (Everyone thinks its the best but also hate how complicated they remember it being), Jira is a great alternative to companies that are either small but growing fast or big and need project management systems at scale. For teams that utilize agile scrum management practices, if you're okay without the 'playfulness' that Trello brings to project management with stale cards and custom board backgrounds but want something Trello-esque but built to stand the test of time, Jira is the right platform for you.
Jira has an entire ecosystem around helping you build great products. Part of the allure of jira is that it's sister products, confluence being one of them, are relatively integrated so that you can create and share documents and files without leaving your web browser. While that can be a perk and a con, in Jira's case, it has been more of a perk. If you are a die hard google docs fan, there is some integration there, but you'll most likely find yourself a new home with confluence, at least for work related docs.
A not often talked about feature of jira is it's blog section. You're able to curate a blog to the entire company which makes email and slack notifications obsolete for company announcements. While I don't know many orgs using it, I think it has tremendous value and recommend though looking to transition try it out. Having a company blog for updates will undoubtedly increase employee retention. Transparency is key and a Jira blog is a great way to provide formal updates in an informal way.
