We use it, but no one really loves it
What do you like best about the product?
Everyone here has been using it at several companies so we are familiar with it
What do you dislike about the product?
The new redesign has removed much critical functionality with no promised date of it coming back, example being Release tracking
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Requirements and work management across teams
Good product so far
What do you like best about the product?
I like how much we can add into a ticket and communicate with our team on those tickets. It gives a lot of customization and hooks in to so many different products
What do you dislike about the product?
It was a little difficult to find the admin settings, there are like 3 different admin locations
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
optimizing time and what people are working on
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Keep it up
Efficient time tracking tool
What do you like best about the product?
It's very helpful to organize our development work through jira. There are plenty of fields on each ticket and it's super customizable
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a little difficult to understand the workflow of some tickets. Some tickets go from development to closed and we can't figure out how to get to the Review stage. On the workflow diagram it isn't connected to any of the other steps
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use jira to organize our development work, whether it's created internally or externally. It's nice to have it organized for our Sprint and we can log time against specific tickets.
Jira for software deliveries
What do you like best about the product?
Jira is very intuitive to use. Tracking stories, tasks is very easy.
I use Jira for daily tasks, from creating a bugs to completing user stories.
We are able to see what other projects are working on, so this gives us a sense of transparency for the company.

What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot add word documents to my tasks.
First time users may feel overwhelmed if not trained.

Software tracking deliveries.
Solid top-level management/story tracking service
What do you like best about the product?
The best part is seeing the progress of the team's stories and such, and watching them slowly work towards done. Also allows for scoping - seeing what is required for this next release, or this next quarter, or this next month. When features should be done. Linking tickets is also super useful. So is prioritizing them
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was an option to add spoilers. ie.
This is a spoiler
. These would be super helpful when I have a long codeblock that pollutes the cleanliness of tickets. Also maybe a better mobile view too
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and bug tracking. We log jira defects/bugs and then have developers work off of them from there. That way we can track the progress of bug fixes and look back to see what fixed it - by linking Github PRs and such
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very solid product management software that will allow you to organize your team's thoughts and processes in a very orderly manner. Allows you to assign tasks, see who is assigned to tasks, who is the reporter (go to them for questions) and such. Also allows for prioritizing and creation of epics that can be shown in a roadmap flow to enlist deadline requirements. Tickets can also be organized via labels and types. Also allows to filter tickets by epic, assignee, reporter, label, and type. Overall very solid product management tool we use to greatly improve productivity and organization
Easy to Use and Powerful
What do you like best about the product?
The top three things that I love in JIRA
1. JQL provides a sophisticated way for me to find and filter team activity.
2. Scrum and Kan-Ban boards provide a powerful and intuitive interface for organizing work and enabling team collaboration.
3. I love the reporting features in the Scrum boards, particularly the version report that provides an informative burn-up chart.

What do you dislike about the product?
The velocity report, release burndown, and the epic burndown reports are not useful to me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to use the control chart and cumulative flow reports to identify bottlenecks in our workflow, so that we can identify resourcing needs or process problems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Much to learn
Easy to Use Project Tracking
What do you like best about the product?
Our company runs on Jira. I like how it keeps all bugs, projects, and tasks organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
The email notifications don't display the names of people tagged, but instead display the account number so you have to log in to Jira to see any comments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking all bugs, email, database, and developer projects and tasks. We are able to prioritize all important projects for different teams
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jira is a powerful tool to help you prioritize and keep track of all projects across multiple teams.
Great project and ticketing system!
What do you like best about the product?
The project templates and configuration are great! also the ease when it comes to adding custom fields and providing integration with Confluence for the documentation. All in all a great combo of tools for project management.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if JIRA and confluence were one tool. To run a good project you need both and having to deal with 2 licenses is a bit of a pain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We tried to use all sorts of different PM tools for managing projects, Smartsheet, Trello, our own proprietary tools, none of them provided what was needed for the best tracking and accountability than JIRA. Ease to drag and move tickets. Reassign, add notes and dependencies. It was all great. Never was able to better manage the agile process than with JIRA.
Jira is GREAT!!
What do you like best about the product?
Jira makes it easy to work on project management and track bugs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira is quite complicated and can have a fairly large learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira allows for efficent bug tracking and project management across multiple teams and physical locations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it! Jira is a great piece of software and its integration into the Atlassian suite makes it a valuable project management and bug tracking tool.
Keep Old Jira
What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a great ticketing system that allows teams to easily manage both new development requests as well as support requests
What do you dislike about the product?
The new version that Atlassian has had in beta for a while - there are so many limitations and we’re yet to have anyone in our group find the “enhancements” useful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira both for managing our new projects (Agile methodology) as well as maintenance and support tickets
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to think through how your organization will be using Jira - roles, permissions needed, issue types, workflows, etc. Once projects have been created it can be difficult to straighten everything out since while Jira’s admin is great the complexity of it can lend itself to seem difficult if the setup was not documented.
