Best Project Management Tool - JIRA

  • October 09, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. Very user-friendly
2. Great features to accommodate any type of Projects
3. Excellent in integration with other tools
What do you dislike about the product?
As of now I do not have anything that I dislike about JIRA.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using JIRA in 2 of the Projects. 1 is based on Agile & the other one is Waterfall model based. Both can be seamlessly managed using JIRA. It is easier to track requirements, create design components associated/linked with requirements, track defects related to them.

Great tool for task tracking

  • October 09, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like that JIRA makes it very easy to track tasks, link tasks with each other, link tasks with code also.
What do you dislike about the product?
JIRA server is a lot of times in maintenance or down, due to which we are unable to track issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Task tracking
- Time tracking
- Project Management
- Bug tracking
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A must-have tool for complete product management and bug tracking. There are very few other good product management tools, but they are not as good as JIRA.

Tool for controlling projects and documenting them

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira has different ways to control the projects, it has also the possibility to improve it with plug-ins. We can also add tasks, issues, comment on them, change status of the requirements, log time spent on these requirements, add sprints. It is also important in our company, because we can estimate the times spent on the tasks and project the time when we are going to have the minimum viable product (MVP). It works together very well using Confluence.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is slow, I log the time spent on one task and the Jira registers this time twice when I click thinking I did not click on the button. We are using a server to work on Jira. When one is new to this tool, it is complex at first sight. It was necessary to buy some plugins in order to understand how it works.
It is very cheap for small groups, but once the number of users is greater than 10, it becomes expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of the tasks. Jira also is good for reporting work to the boss and the customers. Users can create issues and we can communicate with them whenever we need support in order to reproduce the bug. We can establish priorities, and also we can add tasks to the sprints in order to assign a time slot for solving the issues. Confluence helps us keep track of the tasks after meetings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It has the option to evaluate it as cloud, the price for a small team is very affordable.

I like that you are able to manage all of your teams tasks in one spot.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the user interface is confusing, not visually appealing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to manage all of our tasks in one place and have visibility into what each other was working on.

Jira Review

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the way Jira allows me to customize my project flow. The interface is easy to use, but extremely powerful. Is use the Software Project for our development team and it's easy to create new issues, assign them, and track them. Linking issues is also very helpful when creating a product backlog.
What do you dislike about the product?
Configuration of Jira can be tricky. Deciding the template you want to follow, assigning the users and permissions and specifying the different Status you want to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Jira to track project development with a large team of developers, testers, project and product managers. It makes it very easy for each person to see the status of tasks they are following.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Read the documentation and give yourself enough time to get familiar with Jira before going into a production environment. There are a good number of useful bells and whistles, and they'll make your life much easier.

One of the best platform for project organization

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like most the integration among the services offered by Atlassian. In Jira, you can create bitbucket branches straightaway and keep track of them in the related issue on your board. When I create something new on my Jira board, I can specify a world of things ( assignee, epic, filter, labels, branches, and so on ).
What do you dislike about the product?
Their new Mac OS app lacks a lot of features. It is cool but needs a lot of improvements. They should have delayed it or tell clearly that it is an early beta.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deep project organization thanks to integration with Bitbucket, Confluence and big improvements from Trello.

Jira for Dev Team

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very simple to use, create dev, technical, reporting backlog
What do you dislike about the product?
Easy to accidentally drag something onto a sprint if using touchscreen monitor, no dark mode.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Agile scrum ceremonies (e.g. planning poker, tagging releases, able to link to defect database within each issue.)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a very versatile tool and can be configured for agile Kanban as well.

The best way to keep track of your activities

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the big customizabolity: you can configure types of task, different workflows, different projects and way to work, you can manage roles and right of people working on your project and there are a lot of plugins to use
What do you dislike about the product?
When you use Jira as administrator, the interface isn't friendly at all: there are a lot of non-intuitive aspects and often the goal of an action or a configuration is not clear.
Then it's crazy that if you configure a filter with an "order by" inside, you cannot do drag and drop of tasks from the backlog to the sprints (using the agile plugin)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Jira you can keep track of all your activities, requests, bug, change requests, and try to work agile

Review of Jira as a software developper

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is very flexible because we can configure it to adapt to our sprints configuration. We can add a lot of useful metadata to the issues to keep everything well organized. We were even using it to make Grantt diagrams of more than 2 years. I like also that it has an API that we can use to extract the issues and integrate them in our custom tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult to use for non-tech users. We lose a little bit of intuitivity for completeness.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We built several software using Jira. It allows us to have a good coordination within the team. Each day we reviewed our progress and each 2 weeks we planified our work. We also used it to report and track the bugs in our production apps.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jira is a very good option if you have a code source repository and you want to connect an issue tracking tool with it. If it is not the case, Jira is probably over engineered, and you may use an other tool.
