Great for Team Tracking, But Can Be Overwhelming for New Users
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Jira is how well it helps track tasks and team progress from start to finish. It’s easy to use once you get familiar with it, and setting it up was quite straightforward for our team. The interface feels organized, and the boards make it simple to plan sprints, assign work, and review progress without much confusion. I use Jira almost every day, and it has a wide range of features — from backlog management to reporting — that cover everything we need for software development. The integrations are another big plus; connecting it with GitHub and Confluence keeps everything in sync, so we don’t have to jump between tools. Whenever we’ve needed help, Jira’s customer support and documentation have been solid and easy to follow. Overall, it’s a reliable tool that keeps our workflow structured and transparent.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Jira is that it can feel a bit slow and cluttered, especially when dealing with large projects or a high number of tickets. There are so many settings, menus, and options that it’s easy to get lost at first if you’re new to it. Even simple actions sometimes take a few extra clicks, which can be a little frustrating. The interface could definitely be more responsive and streamlined. Also, there are a lot of different issue types like Task, Story, Bug, Discovery, and more — which makes it a bit confusing in the beginning until you get used to how everything fits together
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira helps me keep track of all my tasks and projects in one place. It makes it easy to plan sprints, assign work, and see what’s pending or blocked. Before using Jira, it was hard to keep visibility on who was doing what, but now everything is clear and organized. It also helps our team collaborate better and stay aligned with deadlines, which really improves productivity. Report generation, Burndown charts help a lot in team capacity and velocity planning.

The integration capabilities with other tools, such as Microsoft Teams and Confluence, are also highly beneficial for our workflow, allowing seamless communication and collaboration within our organization. I appreciate the resources available for setting up Jira, which, although initially overwhelming coming from a simpler platform like Monday.com, became manageable and effective once we accessed documentation and guidance. I also value the automation feature that streamlines processes on our Jira board, enabling continuous engagement and management of projects and tasks effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found the initial setup for Jira quite confusing, especially compared to Monday Board, which I transitioned from. It was more challenging until I found resources that helped clarify the setup process. The navigation through different tabs or columns on the Jira board can be challenging without prior experience.
