Modern UI and Powerful Project Management in Jira

  • December 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
the most important thing i like in Jira is its impressive UI , its feels so modern and minimal , it been more than 2 years using Jira but still it feel fresh design. it allows us to break down massive complex ETL/ELT projects into manageable, trackable nuts, we can create custom issue types and custom workflows, and also ticketing is crucial for managing dependencies. it gives me and my manager instant, clear visibility . the integration with GitHub is best, as i commit changes, the commits are automatically visible in the jira ticket. we use this process daily on Jira.
What do you dislike about the product?
the tool is powerful but that power means its easy to make a mess if you dont have a dedicated expert admin , simple things like changing a workflow step or adding a new board can be a huge headache. but overall its a great tool .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
basically its solves the problem of workflow transparency and cross team communication for our data warehosue. every ticket has one assignee,so i can see who is responsible for a stuck transformation or a pipeline failure. it also helps in incident management, when a data quality issue occurs, we use Jira to track the incident, link it to the root cause pipeline ticket, and document resolution steps, thats it .. this is how we works and it helps for this, also its help us to work around the deadlines.

Flexible Workflow Management with Room for Improvement

  • December 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Jira simplifies the process of creating and tracking issues, which enhances my ability to work closely with other teams and keep track of ticket updates. The flexibility of Jira stands out, as it effectively meets the specific needs of our team and workflows. Features like issue tracking, dashboards, and agile boards such as Scrum significantly enhance our project management activities. The integration and collaboration capabilities with Confluence add great value, ensuring a seamless workflow and efficient knowledge management. Furthermore, the initial setup process for basic functions like creating accounts and managing tickets or issues was relatively straightforward, allowing us to be up and running within a day or two. Overall, Jira's convenience and flexibility make it a superior choice compared to other platforms like AWS, and I would rate it a solid 9 out of 10.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think Jira lacks capacity and workload management in terms of planning software tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Jira for project and knowledge management, tracking work, and centralizing information. It helps me create and track issues easily, work closely with teams, and keep up with ticket updates. Its flexibility fits our team's needs and workflows.

Great for Keeping Projects on Track

  • December 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about Jira is how it helps keep everything organized. Tracking tasks, bugs, and the overall progress of a project is straightforward since it’s all managed in one place. I also enjoy the high level of customization available—you can adjust workflows, dashboards, and automation to fit your team’s specific needs. Additionally, the integrations with tools such as Confluence and GitHub make daily work more seamless, as everything remains connected.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira can be quite overwhelming initially, as it offers a wide range of features that may make the interface confusing for new users. Setting up workflows and managing permissions can also be time-consuming and sometimes seem unnecessarily complex. Additionally, the mobile app lacks some important features that are available in the web version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira keeps my team organized by clearly displaying who is responsible for each task and the current status of our work. This transparency helps minimize confusion, ensures that deadlines are well understood, and simplifies the management of larger projects. In general, it improves our communication and enables us to deliver our work more efficiently.

Reliable and Feature-Rich, But Slowed Down by Performance Issues

  • December 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Jira makes technical work traceable. Features, bugs, design discussions—they all live in one place, so nothing slips through the cracks. The workflow engine is predictable, and once it’s configured properly, it forces structure in teams that would otherwise drift. The integrations with Git, CI/CD, Slack, and Confluence reduce context-switching, which saves real time. It isn’t pretty, but it’s reliable, and reliability wins in engineering work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira’s biggest weakness is speed. Large projects, heavy boards, or complex workflows make the interface crawl. Simple actions—opening an issue, switching filters, loading a board—take longer than they should. That latency breaks focus, especially when you’re moving fast in an engineering workflow. The tool is powerful, but the performance overhead gets in the way of actually getting work done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It centralises all ticketing—incidents, requests, tasks, changes—into one workflow. That means nothing gets lost in Slack messages or email threads. Each ticket has clear ownership, priority, and history, so decisions and actions are traceable.
