A highly customizable project management tool with unmatched integration capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
Jira offers a remarkably powerful framework for tracking and managing projects, whether you use agile, scrum, or kanban methodologies. I especially appreciate how flexible it is when it comes to customizing workflows, issue types, and fields to fit our specific processes. The way it integrates with tools such as Confluence, Bitbucket, Slack, and GitHub makes collaboration and traceability smooth from the initial idea all the way through to deployment. Its comprehensive reporting and dashboard features also make it straightforward to monitor team performance, identify bottlenecks, and stay aligned with our business objectives.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Jira’s flexibility stands out as one of its main advantages, it can also contribute to the platform feeling complex for newcomers. The interface often appears dense, and some configuration tasks demand a higher level of expertise to handle properly. When working with very large data sets or extensively customized projects, performance may suffer and slow down. The pricing structure can also become expensive as usage grows. Furthermore, maintaining consistent workflows across multiple teams can be difficult unless there is strong governance in place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira has enabled us to centralize our project tracking, providing clear visibility into tasks, sprints, and releases across various teams. The platform supports effective prioritization, dependency management, and real-time status updates, which helps minimize miscommunication and delays. Creating tasks, bugs, stories, and epics, and the ability to link items as dependents or blockers, greatly enhances task organization. The customization options for workflow status tracking per project are especially useful, allowing me to set up an environment tailored to my team's needs. Additionally, the ability to manage my workflow efficiently and comprehensively is a standout feature that I appreciate immensely. Jira's impressive capturing of work details with customizable depth ensures thoroughness in tracking ongoing tasks. The flexibility it offers for creating personalized workflows is perhaps its most valuable aspect, ensuring that it fits seamlessly into the fast-paced environment of an agile startup, supporting our need for efficient planning and quality deliverables. I also enjoy how Jira integrates smoothly with other tools like GitHub and Slack, which aids in seamless task management and communication. Setting up Jira was an easy process, and it enhances our productivity through tailored workflow solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the filtered view structure in Jira. Although Jira has improved in defining custom filters and tracking work across multiple projects, the filtered view feels slower and heavy to work with. The rendering and functionalities such as drag/drop and search need to be faster and more responsive. This aspect of Jira is reminiscent of its older, clunkier interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira helps me keep track of tasks and projects efficiently, facilitates detailed effort estimation and release management, and provides dashboards for team performance tracking. It links seamlessly with GitHub for task tracking and allows customizable workflows, essential for fast-paced agile environments.
Excellent Sprint Discipline, Extra Overhead for Stakeholders
What do you like best about the product?
I like Jira for the transparency and accountability it brings to delivery—clean breakdowns from Epics → Stories → Tasks, measurable sprints, and status views that make scope and progress easy to communicate. Powerful JQL lets me slice work exactly how stakeholders need, and standardized stories with clear acceptance criteria keep validation predictable. Overall, it makes prioritization, execution, and reporting straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that Jira depends on manually entered tickets and planned sprints rather than contextual triggers or in‑the‑moment field feedback.
Sharing work outside Jira adds overhead because I often have to export or recreate Jira artifacts in Word/Confluence for stakeholder-friendly docs.
While JQL is powerful, the syntax pushes me to keep a cheat sheet, and for KPI dashboards I rely on BigQuery/Tableau instead of Jira

What do you like best about the product?
Loved it's thread modules of creating for onboarding clients. How simply jira integrates with other tools and how simultaneously all can know that what task is being work on.
What do you dislike about the product?
Yes it has drawback of can't find tasks sometimes. Dashboard is confusing

The interface has many menus and settings, which makes getting started confusing and time-consuming. Many teams report that performance suffers when the number of issues, boards or customizations grows large: slow load times and laggy responsiveness become a frustration.

It keeps all project updates, issues, and progress in one place, reducing confusion and communication gaps. With customizable workflows and reports, it helps track deadlines, prioritize work, and identify bottlenecks early. This has improved our team’s productivity, accountability, and overall project delivery efficiency.

Jira can be complex and hard to learn, often slow with large projects, and feels overly complicated for small or non-technical teams.

Versatile Planning Tool, Though Structures Can Be Complex
What do you like best about the product?
Versatility, can move across Jira Plans or Structures to visualise backlogs as well as everyday planning tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can get pretty complex and fiddly with data especially using Structures.

Great for Large-Scale Management, But UI and Advanced Features Takes Time to Master
What do you like best about the product?
Larger scale task and backlog management with good customization and integrations options. Once set up, it is relatively easy for daily use. Good offerings of plugins.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is sometimes slowness and the UI can have a learning curve - especially to do something bit more advanced. Some of the things currently implemented via plugins could be part of the main product with some additional functionalities.

Development and business side tasks logging and tracking, commenting functionality, timeline view.
