User Interface and cache.
What do you like best about the product?
I really liked the interface and the suggestions that we will get when writing the query. Mostly I liked the cache part, when we can get the results in milli seconds if the query is already executed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The app is not available in mobile version. Some times when there is production issue and I wanted to execute something in mobile because im out of office, we can't open it in mobile ro execute the query and send to teammates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's solving the most of the disadvantages that we have in NoSql databases like cosmos database, mongo database and more. We are using noSQL data bases in our organisation so that it can be integrated to codebase really quick. And then we are exporting it to Rockset so that we can visualise the data in tables. Not only that, we see that it is easy to query and get thousands of tables in milliseconds. It actually takes some more time in cosmos database and querying is somewhat difficult in noSQL.

Like scalable postgres and elasticsearch in one
What do you like best about the product?
Well one can write sql so there isnt that much to learn. It all seems to work as one expects and hopes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish there would be a docker image for local development but also for my cheap side projects :P

Basically to replace ES and allow us to scale further
Fantastic product, product / feature enabler
What do you like best about the product?
- Let's us dream bigger - adding analytics / reporting features to our product is a breeze with Rockset
- Incredibly easy to set up and get started
- Queries just work and are pretty fast out of the box
- Customer Support has been fantastic, team has been very supportive even of a "small fish" like us
- Very stable even in their "shared" environment, "rock"-solid consistency and uptime

What do you dislike about the product?
For a small operation like hours, the cost of dedicated instances is pretty high (~$250/month), and we can't take advantage of amazing features like ingest isolation or query autoscaling without hitting this bar. The "Milli" shared instance experience has been fine for us so far, but I can always dream of more.
The SQL editor was ahead of its time in 2022 but now writing SQL in 2024 without AI copilot feels like a chore!!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Rockset as a secondary index for our primary DynamoDB tables and route aggregations, joins and scan-intensive reporting queries through Rockset. As our team has grown more comfortable with Rockset, it's also become our go-to for internal prototyping, internal tools and ad hoc data analysis.
Great for real-time data
What do you like best about the product?
Rockset's best feature for our team is definitely being able to see our data in near real-time. With other tools we use, we have to wait at least a day and that can cause risk when working on a crunch so we usually end up relying on Rockset daily when we're in a pinch. Also their customer service is great. Anytime we have an issue or just a question in general, we're able to reach out via our shared slack channel and they're always able to respond quickly. Overall Rockset is a great tool that's easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the casting and the way data is displayed isn't to everyone's preference but were able to work around it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team tests data in the games inndustry, so being able to check data in real-time is great compared to have to wait a full day before it generates in other tools. Rockset is invaluable whenever we're approaching a deadline.
Great tool to do complex queries over your document data.
What do you like best about the product?
We do not have to transform our denormalized document data into a normalized state for relational databases. We can pass our single-table design Dynamo tables straight into Rockset, with a minimal time delay (usually 1-2 seconds), and then do complex SQL queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our document structure sometimes needs a sub-object to be returned. It would be great if we can simply do "SELECT OBJECT(t1.*) as subObject ..." instead of typing every single field that we need in the sub-object.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Rockset for list pages where we have complex filters to be set, with sorting and pagination. We also use Rockset for quick analytics (small reports) that need near real-time data.
Efficient way to integrate with hubspot
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Rockset for over a year now, and things that have worked well for me are the user-interface, the creation of sql queries and the scalability when there are heavier queries.
I've reached out to customer support twice, and they've been prompt and helpful. I've also not experienced any downtime in my working hours which is great product stability wise
My overall experience has been great

What do you dislike about the product?
I have a limit on the number of queries i can create with the version being used for my company, I guess thats a limitation

I'm giving realtime inputs to hubspot using queries from here, so this helps my customer support team
Easy realtime and complex segmentation done fast with rockset.
What do you like best about the product?
Rockset is easy to set up and configure. There is no need to set up manual indexes or any of that complicated database mumbo jumbo to get rockset to go FAST. Scaling vertically is very easy and fast all you need to do is select a larger virtual instance size and the database scales up instantly. Rockset support is also exceptional and helped me regularly understand best practices while using rockset and how to get the most out of my rockset cloud instance subscription.
I use rockset every day at work. working with their query lambdas and using the rockset api through the javascript sdk makes it easy to integrate it with other systems. Their native support for kafka streams and realtime transformations from the same makes it very easy to ingest large datasets from realtime sources.

What do you dislike about the product?
Although rockset it very simple to operate, if you have very specific requirements that need you to do highly optimized queries on a table, it doesnt have the flexibility to optimise for that. This is really a nit pick, I personally think it is good for most OLAP use cases right out of the box.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before rockset, we used to use a regular OLTP database for running complicated segmentation, aggregation and ad hoc queries at work. This used to cause the entire production database to choke, the queries would take upwards of multiple minutes and the user experience for our clients would degrade when a batch ran or when somebody ran a large query. We realised we needed a copy of our data within an OLAP instead and we tried out clickhouse. Although Clickhouse is a potent OLAP our engineering team could not see a large benefit from moving over to Clickhouse because they were not familiar with the complicated database optimisation that have to be manually managed with Clickhouse. Finally we switched to Rockset and in just a plug and play fashin, the batches and large queries ran fast and in under a second for most of our previous test cases.
Solid option for real-time high concurrency analytics
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Rockset for a few years now and I'm honestly suprised at how few issues I've had with it. I basically set it up and have barely had to check-in on it which is very impressive. Myself and the other engineers really like the query lambda function and how they are version controlled. It's also very fast and able to handle many queries at the same time which our data warehouse isn't built to do. We use it to compliment our data warehouse for embedded analytics for our customers. Customer support has been awesome as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a dislike but I want to make clear that I don't believe Rockset is a replacement for a traditional data warehouse. Instead, I believe it would replace setting up a streaming architecture with tools like Kafka or Kinesis. The only thing I can say is I wish you didn't have to be on a certain tier to get autoscaling capability.

What do you dislike about the product?
case sensitivity of columns is annoying
not being able to reference definitions is annoying, for ex if I have a.amount /100 as percent, I can't reference percent later in the query
