Contracts Module Saves Us time
What do you like best about the product?
I love the Contracts Module. The ease of use and ability to comply with ASC 606 within the module is a big time saver
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the custom report writer. I would think it would be more intuitive to create a custom report.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Billing and managing complex revenue recognition situations. Intacct saves us time while performing the blocking and tackling accounting tasks and allows us to focus more on analysis.

Multi Currency/Multi entity
What do you like best about the product?
Multi Currency - Intacct gives me the rates and books the gain/loss for exhanges - takes the headout out of this function
What do you dislike about the product?
You cannot do a transaction in the future due to unknown exchange rates
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multi Currency/Multi Entity consolidation - both done quickly with no issues
Recommendations to others considering the product:
make sure you have an experienced per implementing so you can get the best practices set up on your system. Plan and test to make sure you know how the transactions will flow.

can't automate the eliminations. I need to reverse them monthly and recalculate them. They could easily be automated

The flexibility and robust application. Can do way more than we can fathom. Every good online and video help.

The downside to the features I like best is that, as what was said at the general session, "you don't know what you don't know".

Eliminating or reducing the reliance on Excel. Saves time not having to continually update spreadsheets.

Have a third party help you implement and rethink your accounting structure and processes. Do not just duplicate what you do.

d like to have the ability to merge accounts and dimensions to clean up the General Ledger especially after years of use and correcting general setup decisionsl

im in AP and having my home screen be the AP section is the best part

What I would like is a mass invoice input one vendor, one account number but multiple amounts, invoice numbers, departments it would make inputting invoices for a few of our vendors quicker

What do you like best about the product?
As a programmer, Web Services is what I like best, hands down. Also, the ability to create and customize the Intacct interface is very appealing. Custom Services has real benefit in the possibility to allow non-programmers (the Accountants) to self-serve with some of the improvements they need and desire.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although the developer resources and learning resources are a real blessing, I find the vanilla examples often leave a gap between what is demonstrated and what I need to accomplish. I probably need to send more time in the developer forums...
Also, as a non-Accountant, I sometimes find it hard to understand how different objects relation to each other. Where's the ER Diagram? :)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My accountant coworkers could better answer this question (about problems we are solving), in my eyes, I'm just programming to accomplish accounting tasks.
Benefits for me, as a programmer, have been in moving from Microsoft Dynamics GP to Intacct and gaining the Intacct Web Services and .Net API. Now, the sky is the limit!

Recommendations to others considering the product:
It can do whatever you want and need, Intacct is an excellent Accounting platform. Find a good implementer. Ask lots of questions, stay engaged, question everything (in an effort to improve the end result), communicate purposely with your implementer. If there is any customization, the most likely place for errors and problems to occur is in the communication between the Developers and the Accountants.

I absolutely love that is captures data in real time and the dashboards are priceless.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much just wish the new reporting function was not an additional cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Electronica approvals of on our invoices and dashboards/reporting available to our Business Units without creating/emailing to all the various parties.
Intuitive & User Friendly
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that it is easy to navigate through the system. I also like the new collaborate feature to communicate within Intacct.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smart Events and Smart Rules work, but are very clunky to code. This needs an easy-to-understand user interface

We use dashboards to easily articulate financials to non-accountants.

It is very easy to use and does just about anything you want it to do. Great for small-medium sized business.

The dimension functionality and the ability to integrate with many different applications

Ability to run ad hoc reports with multiple selection vs range or just one without creating a grouping. or to be able to select null
