Easy to use, intuitive, great customer support

What do you like best about the product?
Great customer support, easy to use, intiutive design
What do you dislike about the product?
For Mac/iPhone exclusively so can't accomodate Windows at all
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great MDM system for Mac admins who might not have the most system administration experience but want to have state of the art quality and security. Helps us have secure baseline configurations on our Mac-only workstation fleet - super useful and essentially touchless/fully automated once you configure the rollout (which is also super easy). Also very easy to troubleshoot with a really pleasant and responsive customer support team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a Mac-only fleet Kandji is the tool to use. (If you use Windows devices, you'll have to look elsewhewhere, though.) I did a fair amount of searching because I wanted a tool that I could use to secure our workstations with minimal system administration experience and the ease of use of the system itself and the support was the best by far.

Above and Beyond

What do you like best about the product?
Out of all the MDM's we vetted, Kandji, by far, was the most organized and willing to help. They were an immense help when it came to the rollout and deployment of not only Kandji but also that of other applications and configurations. The integrated app library is a huge plus, as well as the ability to upload custom apps and scripts. Overall we are happy to partner with Kandji.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I had to nitpick, it would be that they are not a massive player in the MDM space yet; this attributes to somewhat of a lack of documentation when it comes to integrating and deploying custom software. However, Kandji has been more than willing to offer aid when needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem that Kandji solved for us is to fill the void that Fleetsmith left. Feature's that left Fleetsmith due to the Apple acquisition were present on Kandji, which was a massive plus for us. Kandji has continued to allow us complete control of our fleet of MacOs and iOS products.

Amazing Features, easy to use, always update to date MDM

  • June 15, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
What I love the best about Kandji is their new and innovative approach to being a Mac MDM. Having used Jamf (on-prem), they have an antiquated system with the need for updates through SQL and Java. With Kandji, it's always up to date managed on a cloud server, has Auto apps, and a seamless and flawless way to back up Filevault keys. The idea of blueprints is just amazing makes managing macs for different departments a breeze. Kandji having access to Google Workspace is amazing to make setting up new users and assigning blueprints easy. With Jamf, this would require many different policies and scripts. Kandji is always adding new features. They added SAML SSO recently and Selfservice, and now adding no-touch deployment (lift-off) will make it an even more seamless experience for the end-user. With Self Service, they have improved greatly with what other companies have in their self-service. They allow for richer features. Such as Dark mode making self-service look like it's a native mac app with Mac OS-like design. Popular adds get added to Kandji's Auto app section, which allows you to have Kandji auto-update the apps, so you don't need to bug your end-users to update the app or upload the newest package over to your MDM. Kandji allows for custom apps to be added right from the browser, unlike some other MDM where you need to upload it to a separate app then show up on the browser.
The customer support is crazy good with Kandji. You can hit a button and be chatting with someone who can help vs Jamf where you are in Jamf Nation searching through someone else who is having a similar issue there is no support with Jamf
What do you dislike about the product?
When I first looked into Kandji, they lacked things such as Self Service and Custom apps, but after talking to them and understanding this is on their road map, I took a chance and believed in them. Kandji did not disappoint. They are just like Apple. They may not bring the feature first to the market, but they have refined the feature to work without flaws, unlike the others. Kandji doesn't have to report yet but they are working on that and at least with Jamf I could never rely on that being the source of truth vs using another software that is built more for that. Just because another software has a lot more features doesn't make them better if anything I think it wears them thin.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The intial problem we were solving with Kandji is how we can deploy New Mac OS's without having to waste a day with updating Jamf as well as why did my script in Jamf to update software we use just not work sometimes. The Benefits I have realized with Kandji is amazing quick support, being able to always have my fleet of computer have Mac OS up to date as well as ensure all my users their software from Self Service all up to date to ensure we are secure.

Amazing UI, even better customer support.

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji makes it incredibly easy to manage Apple products from the easy-to-use interface, easy-to-use Auto-Apps, to the amazing support team. I can go on and on about how incredible the customer service is at Kandji. They are always willing to help us with any questions we may have, no matter how small the issue is. They are incredibly attentive and are always ready to help. 10/10 experience. From the first demo we received, the team at Kandji was on top of their game and were on the call to listen to our requirements in an MDM and show us what they have to offer. Throughout our demo period, they were there to support us to make sure that our team was ready to utilize the platform to its fullest. One of the main reasons that we chose Kandji was because of the incredibly good-looking UI. And, although some products look pretty but have nothing going on under the hood, Kandji is nothing like that. Kandji looks amazing and works, it just works. They have taken the Apple MDM solution and have made it simple and user-friendly with Mac Admins in mind without compromising on any functionality that might be needed. Amazing product!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. Our experience with Kandji has been nothing but the best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our biggest problem that we have been able to solve with Kandji was the ability to manage security policies on our Macs after we switched to working from home. We are now able to ensure that our users are fully safe while using their machines remotely.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Kandji has seriously changed the game with Apple Device Management. They have produced a product that is not only easy to use, but it is also great looking and to simply put it, it just works! Their support team is by far the best support team that I have had the pleasure of doing business with, along with the amazing sales/account management team. I urge every Apple Admin to have a look at Kandji and give it a shot, you will not be dissappointed.

What do you dislike about the product?

Extremely Flexible "MDM plus"

  • December 05, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Granularity and flexibility. Custom apps are dead simple. Easily scriptable. Great chat- or helpdesk-based support. The interface is a great foundation for more to come.
What do you dislike about the product?
The automatic app catalog could be larger, but the single best workaround would be tighter Volume Purchase Apps/Books integration. My biggest gripe is that I can't deploy a single app to a single device. Because this is such a nagging concern, I'm reminded that Kandji's roadmap isn't public, though we have been told it will be. I would also appreciate more willingness to Zoom for support. The emailing and chatting can get laborious, and aren't saving either party any time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Just a little worldwide pandemic and remote workers. We have a lot more flexibility in how we manage machines that we NEVER lay physical hands on. The other huge problem facing us was migrating from a defunct MDM to Kandji during the summer of 2020, with a fleet dispersed across many states. There wasn't room for error, and after thorough testing with Kandji's support team, we made the migration with only the tiniest of issues.

Apple device management game changer

  • October 30, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Working with the Kandji team, you can tell they are among the best at Apple device management. The level of effort and care the Kandji team puts into deployment and support is setting a new standard.

Security is a front and center focus of the Kandji product. Effortlessly secure your devices and spend less time worrying about your device security. Great end-user experience to manage or enforce updates.

Kandji has a library of apps, automations and workflows that can save any IT team time by not needing to consistently manage, update apps and scripts. This was a big differentiator for me, working on a small team that spends time on more than just device management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Recent macOS updates have changed and continue to change the way businesses can manage their macOS devices (looking at you kernel and system extensions). Kandji has the product and team that gives me hope that they can handle any future device management changes Apple may make.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saving time managing our macOS fleet through Kandji's built-in library of apps, automation, workflows, and configurations.

Moving closer to a true zero-touch deployment of our new Apple device endpoints. Decreased device on-boarding time.

Providing a better experience for keeping devices and apps updated for our employees.

Best Apple MDM i have ever used!

  • October 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Full featured product that has changed the way i handle IT computer onboarding.
They have amazing support.
Kandji can automate your onboarding IT computer process with Zero touch deployment to the point where you can ship a computer to a new employee without IT touching the computer.
Lots of fine turning you can do to Apple devices that competition MDMs cant do.
Kandji is always adding features and improving the product every day. They notify you of new features whenever they add them and send you updates from their blog. When you look at the Kandji interface you can tell its quality and the team dedicates their time to create a top of the line product.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing i dislike with Kandji, but there are features that can be added that will make their product even better. Such as the ability to install applications and settings per individual device and not only per blueprint or group of devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji has automated the manual process i used to use for IT computer onboarding from 1 hour to 10 minutes.
Kandji allows me to configure and install new apps and settings on all computers without anyone realizing im there or bothering anyone.
It has changed the way we do IT.

Modern Apple device management for security-conscious organizations

  • July 01, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We switched to Kandji from Jamf (after testing a few other Apple device management solutions on the market) and couldn’t be happier with the results. The interface is intuitive and has allowed us to easily manage a rapidly growing fleet of macOS devices as well as a few iOS/tvOS devices.

One of our favorite features is the parameter library - hundreds of common macOS device controls/policies that you can toggle on or off, saving us countless hours of scripting and remediation.

Kandji has also enabled true zero touch deployment, so we have the ability to drop ship brand new devices to new team members without touching the device or setting it up manually, which is crucial given that much of our team is remote and we are growing quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be challenging to keep up with the pace of change in the Apple ecosystem - for example, each new OS release brings new device management capabilities and security features for us to consider. However, Kandji has been very quick to support these changes; every couple of weeks there is a new product release, a new profile they are supporting, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being a SaaS product catering to the finance vertical we have strict device management requirements (both internal policies as well as external compliance regulations). Kandji’s library of parameters and compliance templates helped us achieve a high level of security and compliance immediately (without spending months building each policy from scratch).

Change is good but Kandji is better!

What do you like best about the product?
We migrated ~150 Apple devices over to Kandji from a pre-existing MDM with a small team in under a month with the help of the Kandji team. Our team was engaged from day 1 due to Kandji's simplistic yet powerful capabilities paired with an experienced Kandji support team.

Kandji does the all the heavy lifting for you with their "Auto Apps ". enforcing updates and ensuring that all the latest and most common software you see today are ready to be deployed. You also have the ability to take it a step further and add in your own apps. Also, WiFi network settings and printers are just some of the things you can easily deploy via Kandji.

The blueprints feature ensures that you're able to set the level of security on your laptops, with the ability to swap blueprints at any time. You can select different levels and they even have pre-existing blueprints relating to compliancy and best practices.

What we enjoyed from Kandji was the Auto-Enroll / Zero-touch deployments. With Kandji, we were able to set up a laptop in under 10 minutes without even touching the device!
What do you dislike about the product?
Kandji is a new company in the MDM landscape but backed with a team who have a ton of experience. You might find that there are going to be some small loose ends here and there but nothing concerning as the Kandji team is quick to act and ready to come out with new features and improvements on a daily basis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had an MDM solution prior but the deployment took almost 90-120 minutes for each laptop, Kandji allowed us to do this in under 10 minutes via their Auto-Enroll feature. We are now able to deploy laptops faster and remotely to any new hires without even touching the device.
