Webex Calling
Comes with good security features but not as user-friendly as Zoom
What needs improvement?
I think Webex could be improved by simplifying the process. For instance, they could make it easier to join meetings by providing a direct meeting link without requiring sign-ups or logins. While security is important, finding a balance with user-friendliness is key.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used Webex for about two or three years, mainly for Cisco training sessions. After that, I haven't used Webex much. However, I've been using Zoom more recently for my online classes with students.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution's stability depends on the company.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate the tool's scalability a five out of ten. It might be more scalable for larger companies with specific needs. My company had ten users as part of the training.
How are customer service and support?
I haven't contacted the tool's technical support yet.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Webex can be complicated compared to Zoom, especially regarding security settings. With Zoom, users need a meeting ID and password to join, making it more straightforward. While both platforms offer secure connections, Webex may feel more rigid and less user-friendly, especially for non-technical users. However, Webex has been updated recently so that improvements may have been made.
How was the initial setup?
Setting up the tool on my computer wasn't too difficult, but it wasn't as straightforward as Zoom. I had to install the Webex application and navigate through the interface, which felt a bit more complex, especially for business settings.
What other advice do I have?
During Cisco training sessions, I found Webex effective in improving productivity. I benefited from the training. However, I can't speak for others using Webex for daily work or jobs.
The Webex security features are good because you must log in before joining a meeting. However, it's a bit less convenient than Zoom, where you need a link to join.
I rate the overall solution a seven out of ten.

I would recommend Webex to other users because it is a reliable solution.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
Is user-friendly and offers good security features
What is our primary use case?
I use the solution in my company for internal meetings, technical discussions, and knowledge transfer sessions.
What is most valuable?
The product offers a whiteboard feature, which you can use in meetings to provide explanations. Even in a remote place, if my company is showing someone a complex web application, we can just point out the exact options in the menu bar from our side. If you are sharing the screen and you are unable to find a particular menu from our company's side, we can just use a marker and tick it to tell them the spot they need to check. The tool's support features are very beneficial to customers.
What needs improvement?
All the features are not enabled in the web mode of the product. From an improvement perspective, all the features need to be enabled in the web mode instead of asking users to install the application.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Webex for three to four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The company did not experience any lags in terms of the product's stability and performance. Stability-wise, I rate the solution between eight and nine out of ten.
To be able to use some of the features provided by the product, a user gets forced to install the application. If you are a host of a meeting and you send me an invite to attend it, after which, if I join it via the web, I would be unable to use many of the product's features, like the sharing of screens. I am forced to install the application to use the features of the product. The entire feature set of the tool is not available in the web mode.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
Around 20 people in my company use the product. The product is mostly used by technical people who need to present something in meetings and the other top management personnel who conduct meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Only the host or presenter of the meeting would have the tool's account.
How was the initial setup?
The product's initial setup phase was straightforward.
The solution can be deployed in a few minutes.
What other advice do I have?
It is a user-friendly tool. Even if you share the link to a meeting with Webex with some ex-users of the tool, it is still easy for them to join the meeting via its website without having to install the application.
The product has helped simplify the area of remote work in my company.
For team collaboration, the product provides a good experience for our company.
The video, sound, and conferencing quality offered by the product are good.
At my company, we have a touchpad set up in our boardroom, so connecting to meetings via Webex is easy.
From a technical perspective, I recommend the product to others. From a cost-based perspective, I am not sure if I would recommend the product to others since I don't know whether Teams, Zoom, or Webex are low-price options.
With the features of the product that I have used so far, I can say that the integration capabilities of the tool are good.
The product's security features are good.
I rate the tool an eight to nine out of ten.
Allows to share screen and hold virtual meetings easily
What is our primary use case?
I use the solution to attend online meetings, which are held with my company's clients. Webex is a platform where most of the clients like to have meetings. Though Webex is more complicated than Microsoft Teams, it is much more useful and easy to pin Webex's screens and content.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature of the solution is the fact that it is easy to share screens, a major reason I chose it.
What needs improvement?
Earlier, it was easy to set up meetings using Webex. Nowadays, it is hard to set up meetings using Webex since it has become a complicated process. The platform should be easier for not only to arrange but also for others to join meetings. In general, the tool's setup process could be made a bit easier.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Webex for years. I use the solution's customer. I don't remember the version of the solution.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is a quite stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is an easily scalable solution. It is also easy to use its sharing capabilities during meetings. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.
Around 50 to 60 people use the product.
The product is used once in a while and not on a daily basis. If there is a requirement for virtual meetings, then we use it for that moment.
Whether my company plans to increase the use of the product or not is something that depends on our requirements. The product is only used for virtual meetings, and otherwise, our company doesn't use it much. The product was of great use when the world was struck by COVID-19, but after the pandemic, the tool is not much used.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Earlier, it was easy to set up meetings using Webex. Nowadays, it is hard to set up meetings using Webex since it has become a complicated process. The platform should be easier for not only to arrange but also for others to join meetings. In general, the tool's setup process could be made a bit easier.
How was the initial setup?
I rate the product's initial setup phase a three on a scale of one to ten, where one is a difficult setup, and ten is an easy setup process.
Regarding the product's deployment phase, the tool already has a portal. You need to just download and run the setup, after which you need to click on the next steps and the agreement form. After the aforementioned steps are followed, the tool gets installed.
The solution can be deployed in ten minutes.
What other advice do I have?
I have used the tool only for the meetings, not for the webinars and large-scale virtual meetings.
I rate Webex's video quality and connectivity compared to other solutions as four to four and a half out of five.
Webex's security features have impacted our company's communication since it verifies the users before letting them into meetings. The tool is good for enterprise-level companies. It adds a layer of security to the platform used for meetings, but on the other hand, I feel that for short meetings, there is no need for the solution to add a high level of security. It is good to have a proper and secure platform like Webex for meetings. If I rate its security, then I will give it a four point three stars out of five.
I rate the tool a nine out of ten.
Used to conduct online third-party client meetings or third-party vendor meetings
What is our primary use case?
We use the solution for third-party meetings.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable features of the solution are communication, screen sharing, and collaboration. Webex makes it easier to handle third-party online meetings and to interact with people and your partners.
What needs improvement?
Sometimes, the solution lags because of performance issues.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Webex for a couple of years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable, but sometimes it has issues with the performance.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Around 20 to 30 users in our organization, including engineers and developers, use Webex. The solution is not extensively used in our company.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We also use Microsoft Teams in our organization. We prefer Microsoft Teams because it is more integrated, has E5 licensing from Microsoft, and is easier for corporations to use.
How was the initial setup?
The solution's initial setup is straightforward. I'm using it mainly for third-party interactions. To deploy Webex, you need to download an installer, deploy it, and then use it.
What about the implementation team?
We implemented the solution through an in-house team in two to three minutes. An agent is installed on your machine to deploy the solution.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I use the solution for free because I don't use the solution's enterprise version.
What other advice do I have?
The solution's video conferencing quality is good, and I rate it a nine out of ten. The solution's security features are end-to-end encrypted, and I rate them ten out of ten. The version we're using requires no technical team for deployment and maintenance. The solution has an enterprise version, but we're not currently using it.
I would recommend the solution to other users because it has good video conference quality. I mostly leverage the solution for third-party client meetings or third-party vendor meetings.
Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
Has outdated technology and chat button is difficult to find
What is most valuable?
The transcripts from Webex calls get delivered to the inbox five minutes after the call. However, out of 20 people on a call, maybe only one person bothers to read through the entire transcript, which can be lengthy for an hour-long call.
What needs improvement?
Although we utilize it for team collaboration, it's not very efficient. Most people don't bother turning on their video during meetings. We feel stuck in the past, relying on outdated technology.
We had 20 people on a call, and whenever someone wanted to use the chat, they struggled to find the button. It was like a constant hunt for the chat feature, especially when you're presenting. It could feel quite desperate at times.
What other advice do I have?
I haven't used Webex's file-sharing and messaging features much. Our work involves sensitive information, so we rely on other platforms for file sharing. However, Teams is an exception, where we occasionally share files and information, mainly through the chat function. I rate the overall product a two out of ten.
Offers a straightforward initial setup phase
What is our primary use case?
In our company, we had to increase the usage of Webex after we found out that when we were using Cisco's teleconference software, external users could not join meetings. When I create a meeting in Webex, my company can hold meetings and use teleconference software.
What needs improvement?
From an improvement perspective, Webex should be able to have recording features.
From an improvement perspective, it should be possible to integrate Webex with other platforms.
The high price of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have experience with Webex for years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is a very stable solution. I rate the solution's stability a six out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is an easily scalable solution.
I don't know how many people in my company use the product. I conduct most of the meetings with the help of the tool for around 50 to 100 users. I also need to consider how some people prefer Zoom while others prefer Webex.
How was the initial setup?
The product's initial setup phase is very straightforward.
The solution is deployed on the cloud.
The solution can be deployed once a user downloads, installs, takes care of the setup of a meeting, and then arranges for a device to attend it.
The solution can be deployed in less than ten minutes.
What about the implementation team?
The product can be deployed with the help of the company's in-house team.
What was our ROI?
The product is worth the investment since it helps our company to hold meetings and other business-related sessions for people to attend. In my opinion, the ROI of the product is fine.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
There is a need to buy a subscription-based license to use the product. You need to make yearly payments towards the licensing charges of the product. You need to opt for a subscription-based licensing model for your organization. The product is a bit expensive.
What other advice do I have?
In our company's day-to-day business operation, we use Webex to hold our internal meetings and for those who want to join certain meetings remotely. The tool is connected to two offices, the head office and a branch. The teleconference software part of Webex allows external users who need to join a meeting. Sometimes, Zoom or Microsoft Teams can be used as alternatives if there are some stability issues with Webex. One can switch between the options.
Webex has simplified remote work in our company the same way Zoom has helped us. Webex has helped with the meeting part, specifically virtual meetings. It has helped ease business. I also have to ensure that our staff or external execs join Webex sessions without any issues.
Speaking about the most valuable aspect of the product for team collaboration, I find the whiteboards and control or the ability to share, especially when troubleshooting with a remote user, useful. Webex allows its users to easily share screens with other users, so users can look at the screen to see what the other person or user is doing.
I have not tried the integration of Webex with Zoom. If people from Zoom and Webex can join a meeting together there would be a lesser need to set up for a meeting. Anybody with Webex or Microsoft Teams can still join the same meeting that has been set up on Zoom. The ability to join a meeting should not depend on which application one uses.
The video quality of the product is good. There has been a lot of improvement in the tool's video quality.
I think the tool has security features because most of the calls on it are encrypted, so you can be sure that nobody is trying to listen or eavesdrop on the different sessions you have on the product. Depending on how a host o has set up the meeting, others can join and connect easily. When you closely look at the sessions in the tool, I think the tool has improved, and everything seems fine.
I suggest others start using the product since they can see added features in the product over a period of time. I recommended the product to those who plan to use it.
I rate the tool a nine out of ten.
Easy to use for setting up groups and conversations and good for integrating with other applications
What is our primary use case?
My company mostly uses it for internal purposes.
We mainly use it for team communication and meetings, as well as the chatbot feature.
Webex is primarily for remote work and virtual meetings, such as screen sharing. We don't use it for anything beyond basic meetings.
How has it helped my organization?
Webex improved our overall team collaboration.
What is most valuable?
Webex keeps our data secure. The security features are good in this product.
I also like the chatbot feature. If we have an incident or aren't sure about something, we type in a keyword, and the chatbot provides relevant information or helps us find the right resources.
However, the chatbot is the only integration we have with Webex.
What needs improvement?
There could be more some AI-related features.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using it for more than two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It has been a stable product for me.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is a scalable product and works well for our company.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used Microsoft Teams.
When compared to other tools, I find Webex easy to use for setting up groups and conversations. It's also good for integrating with other applications. Everything I need is available - including document sharing.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup wasn't too difficult. The setup process was clear.
What about the implementation team?
We could install it on our systems if needed.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten.
