Easy to Collaborate, Manage and Share Maps
What do you like best about the product?
Its easy to publish, manage and share maps over arcgis online.
What do you dislike about the product?
Performance of the base maps have to improve. Need to have better symbology options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy Management, easy collaboration between difference organizations.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy and accessible the website is. I also like how it has so many datasets, including user-made.

Sometimes it is difficult to understand data files.

Mapping for project analysis.
ArcGIS Online is the best GIS tool on the market!
What do you like best about the product?
ArcGIS Online is a very powerful geospatial solution that can integrate with so many useful data sources. Sharing data is much more interactive and lively with ArcGIS Online.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently, I do not dislike anything about ArcGIS Online

Displaying large geospatial datasets and integrating with corporate assets

Truly great... but only if you know how to use it.
What do you like best about the product?
The variety of layers and maps that are available through ESRI online allow for the creation of truly interesting mapping. The free tutorials that are provided are also extremely helpful, however, I highly recommend working with an "expert" on GIS. The options are limitless and this is truly an awesome software.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not understand why, in 2018, companies and software are still being developed that are Windows-only compatible. I purchased my own license and ArcGIS annual subscription for my own personal use. I map overdoses within my county. I was very excited as I began setting up the software and learning how to use it. Unfortunately, the app is not built for mac computers. I read all of these different forums and ended up using boot camp assistant and made another option to re-boot my computer and have it run as a Windows product... I know, a lot of work right? The use of all the features within the app was the majority of the reason I paid for it. There are some features where I have to send files to other people who can convert it to the format I need through their ArcGIS app so that I can use it.
I really wish I could get a one-on-one session with someone from ESRI to learn more about the software and utilize all of the resources that I currently do not know how to use. This software is invaluable and real-time mapping is becoming more of a priority throughout all types of work.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of the different layers and options for analyzing data allow for clear mapping that is easy for viewers to understand. In my mapping of overdoses I was able to use this software to create "hotspots", I added a layer that shows which overdoses occurred in each zip code, and I was also able to add demographic information through a layer made available by ESRI online.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can only use the ArcGIS Online version (the "lite" version) on mac products. This software is built to be used with Windows software.

The user friendly aspects of arc gis. It is easy to zoom in and find data

Sometimes it freezes but I believe that is more and internet issue.

Finding information on storm water structures and pipes. Using the app in the field is helpful.

What do you like best about the product?
Its is very accurate with all the data required for a property or anything

ArcGIS online is really great for analyzing and sharing information.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that there are always updates to the (ArcGIS online-(agol) process and that the updates are ones that make processing easier. I like having the ability to share or not share files with select groups or people. I really like the story map capabilities to display and share information.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really like the credit system for storage, it is a big pain keeping track of how much data credits one uses. I don't like that I can't share my files across my user id's.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to show maps of the city and recently we did a study on bike and pedestrian accidents within the city. The city has obtained a grant to study and make recommendations based on the maps and story maps that I have created.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
ESRI has made this available to all schools. Hopefully the local schools will adapt this into their course work. What an impact this will have for young kids and high school age children. What an advantage they would have to learn geospatial relationships in the world before they graduate from high school.
ArcGIS online and resource management
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability the share data and analysis over a large area with colleagues without typical datatransfer issues. The online templates for land management have also been beneficial.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is a little steep but doable. I also think the cost for an organization as big as mine is a little high.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently building permits online, tracking land status, and giving our policy makers viewing capabilities to better make decisions.
AGOL for EM
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to share large datasets live with several different partners and agencies. As an Emergancy Manager the job role is to coordinate communication. Being able to pull in information from all of your partner agencies and put it in a platform that show everything one one place in incredibly valuable.
What do you dislike about the product?
There needs to be three user levels. Read-only, Editor, and Full user. I have several user who need to be able to use collector for data entry and workforce for tracking, however they will never use all the advanced features of a full license. We currently have to use a combination of DRP and shared accounts in order to really accomplish what we need to. Ideally, the state would be able to get all 400+ emergency managers around the state to participate, however, the current pricing structure is never going to allow for that. Most of our smaller emergency management officers are not able to run, host, or maintain there only system. It's usually a one more shop until something happens.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Interagency sharing and collaboration of data that was previously proprietary.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The online teams have been incredibly helpful when we encounter natural disasters. Often times we get overloaded when events happen and they are always able to help us out when we simply can't spend the time on development. Be sure you really think through your organization and user groups before you deploy. Who should be allowed to see and publish what information.

Some services cap at 10000 features and I often need more than that.

This service provides a high data quality and usability for many facets of the work that I do. I would encourage anyone to review what is available as it is more than likely going to provide some utility regardless of the business.
