Essential for real-time data sharing
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to share data across platforms and with non-GIS users.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hosted datasets online allow us to maintain a clear common operating picture with all levels of government and emergency service sectors. We both publish our own datasets and consume datasets hosted by other agencies.

accessible and easy to use mapping app
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to conduct spatial analysis, access database, and sort through different basemaps through the platform

Sometimes difficult to attach shapefiles/csvs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analyzing where retail businesses are located and caharcteristics of those businesses based on what part of the country they're in, allowing us to better understand if specific subsectors are being impacted by national trends affecting retail businesses

Like the best that even if you go away from GIS onine. Your info is stored.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. It is good as is. Free to users

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to be able to make maps quickly and share within the organization. We use ArcGIS Online for story maps, and so being able to make different versions and layers is important
What do you dislike about the product?
The pop up configuration should be a little more customizeable. Being able to highlight things like text via italics or bold would help the reader when clicking the pop ups.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing current projects quicker with board members
ArcGIS Online and the Possibilities
What do you like best about the product?
The system is easy to setup, rapidly allows you to put data into it, and lets you visualise your information easily. Best part is anyone with little instruction or technology background can use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The default web mapping provides limited cartographic support at the moment. This will improve over time but certain styles like hatches cannot be achieved, and annotation support is not fully there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data visualisation, presentation, and collaboration with stakeholders. This product achieves all of those.

Keep the documentation at hand. Look at examples already produced to see how to implement

From the 2018 ESRI UC, looking forward to integration of ArcGIS online with AI, Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics and much more.

Looking for more geostatistical capability and integraion with Tableau.

super powerful, easy to use and easier to share

ease of use. arcgis online products are intuitive to use from a setup perspective, and easy to consume from a user perspective.

it's hard to say what i dislike. the platform has grown so much that there just isn't much not to like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
datasharing - both internal data and sharing data with the public.

spend time creating good governance rules for administering arcgis online.

What do you like best about the product?
ArcGIS Online makes training easy. Love the ease of use and functionality. Presentation of product on ArcGIS Online is also great!
What do you dislike about the product?
Learning curve is slightly hard... but once you learn it, it becomes easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Publishing maps for public to visualize, such as zoning updates and changes, public notices with attached douments, etc. Also use to create story maps for presentations to council members, and create story maps of parks with rental information.

Utilize to present technical details to audience members that are not that technical.

What do you like best about the product?
Desktop tools and now that I've moved to ArcPro I love it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there's so much change that it's challenging to keep up with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Teaching GIS. AGOL provides an easy and fun way to share GIS with youth.
Great Software
What do you like best about the product?
AGOL is easy to access - its a website so all you need is an internet connection and a web browser. Great for office users and people who are used to web browsing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the features and functionality dont flow through to AGOL. For example, I beleive pulling layer information is not possible when creating a feature in AGOL
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to help utility companies see and interat with our data. Benefits are: Easy to use, no software installation required (whch is HUGE)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its great becuase its accessable from the web. It makes distributiong ArcGIS information very easy to outside vendors. While I personally did limited administration in the tool, those on my tea who did it said it was very easy to deploy and keep up to date. Both existing ESRI resources and some ESRI partners were ready willing and able to help.
