ArcGIS Online for State agency GIS adoption
What do you like best about the product?
Since the introduction of ArcGIS Online to the Esri suite of products, GIS use among State agencies has increased dramatically. (I am with the GIS coordinating agency for Hawaii State government). We spent years trying to encourage adoption of GIS and with ArcGIS Online, the technology sells itself!
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to manage our large number of users
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our 600 agency users are solving a multitude of problems with AGOL - collaboration to address invasive species, field data collection are two that come to mind.

Loving ArcGIS Online
What do you like best about the product?
I love the user friendly approach and easy to use interface
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see some more functionality in the webapp templates
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication and colloboration within government and community
What a great entry point to the Science Of Where!
What do you like best about the product?
The product is easy to use and allows even a novice to explore existing content as well as create simple content frm multiple data sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that it uses credits to put up content and to geocode addresses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We share and combine our data with other partner agencies to do a never before attempted almagamation of all of our current and future orders which might impact street paving so everyone can move away from conflict management to avoideding conflicts 100% of the time and transitioning to synergies and cost sharing oppurtunities.
Simple with possibilities
What do you like best about the product?
I love how sleek the interface is. The experience is seamless, and I'm able to share maps, data, and stories with the rest of my company weekly.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be limited in terms of functionality. It's not very customizable--for example, there's no option to disable Scene Viewer for a user if the organization doesn't use 3D GIS at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My organization's been able to share maps with other departments or clients, use maps for interactive presentations, and host our data online.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
ArcGIS Tools for Admins, by GeoJobe, is an amazing tool that's helped me manage bulk inventory more effectively.
Some good suggestions
What do you like best about the product?
It has a great ease of use for beginners. I can teach others to use it that never heard of his before.
What do you dislike about the product?
There needs to be a better measure tool in web app builder. Need to access local files easier instead of having to host or have attachments such as PDFs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our hwy department uses it for rating roads. Checking wind turbine locations. Sheriff's using for sensitive crime and offense data.

Get training formal and online
AGOL is very useful, but limited

The avialability of widgets to add to web apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
Restricted use for viewers only for organization (requirig a viewer license has been hassle for my users). Credit usage is a hassle to manage.

What do you like best about the product?
The capacity to edit and share storymaps. Today I believe is really important to create a map collecting data from reliable sources and visualize the content in a map that shares a story because it produces a real impact and makes it easier for the final user to better understand the power of GIS.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't actually have something I dislike about it. I would probably look for a way to make it more accessable and faster for users and developers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently i'm not solving problems with it
Powerful spatial information tool
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create maps and/or apps to share with your organization or general public.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really a problem, just more training needed, but search for resources outside our organization.

Using AGOL to host specific data layers for use in some of our custom web map applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My simple advice is to simply play with it. In time you will discover how powerful this tool is.
ArcGIS Online Assists in Communicating with the Public
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to quickly put together a web app to communicate with our community.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike about ArcGIS Online.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to assist our administration with the choice of location for a Navigation Center that helped show the public how the center location was chosen.
Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
I think ArcGIS online is easy to use once you look into it. I could figure out myself with few tutorials. For the basic tasks like creating a map is very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really have anything to complain at the moment. I don't use it very often, but I would if is needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Is flexible and light for just sharing information, publishing a service. Very useful for small tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend to use it. To share data / maps for non-GIS users is great as well.
