What I can tell you after more than 6 years and more than 14 projects using Spryker!
What do you like best about the product?
For building a global marketplace with millions of products Spyker is just what you need. Individual processes and requirements, common in B2B commerce, can be implemented perfectly using Spryker as a base.
What do you dislike about the product?
As Spryker is a system for ambitious commerce projects with a high degree of customization and enterprise requirements. There is no simple answer - don't expect it to be ready out-of-the box and within 3 days.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We realized Marketplaces with more than 550 million products, Real-time quotation and inventory checks from several hundred distributors, and individual business requirements such as uploading part lists (BOM) with thousands of items via drag and drop to place your order.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spryker is a system for ambitious commerce projects with a high degree of customization and enterprise requirements. If you are planning a small webshop, there are more straightforward solutions for that.

What do you like best about the product?
Spryker OS is a very flexible and scalable system with a very good B2C/B2B functionalities. If you wan have complex requirements or business models which need to be digitalized, Spryker is a very good option for this.
What do you dislike about the product?
With an increase in flexibility there is usually also an increase in complexity. So you have to know Spryker and how it works.
Something which does not have to do with dislinking Spryker, but you should know, that Spryker is probably not the right fit for smaller companies or basic E-Commerce requrements.

if you need to digitalize complex business models, Spryker will help you because of its flexibility. Especially B2B challenges can be solved pretty well with the Spryker Commerce OS and a good team.

Agile fast building block system with over 750 modules for digital transformation - unified commerce. Spryker has highly flexible and high-performance interfaces for internal and external tools. The system is an innovative e-commerce platform for large companies with disruptive business models.

High setup effort. Spryker requires high development costs due to increased complexity.

Spryker OS delivers a complete eCommerce package, which can be suited to your needs.
The overall functionality is separated into individual modules (aka packaged business capabilities) that can be customized.
Everything is in one installation: multi-site, multi-store, multiple languages (customized to your clients), even though configuration/setup is demanding.
The primary focus is scalability in performance and market growth. As a headless solution, Spryker OS goes beyond classic shop solutions.
The overall functionality is separated into individual modules (aka packaged business capabilities) that can be customized.
Everything is in one installation: multi-site, multi-store, multiple languages (customized to your clients), even though configuration/setup is demanding.
The primary focus is scalability in performance and market growth. As a headless solution, Spryker OS goes beyond classic shop solutions.

As others said, the learning curve for developers can be steep.

It would be desirable to recognize more of the known frameworks and concepts in the system. The initial phase is otherwise quite complicated

High flexibility in implementing the requirements and good support from Spryker Consulting Team.

Very complex solution that requires a lot of know-how in the development team. This makes it difficult to build the in-house team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meeting requirements that could not be covered by our previous system. In particular, customer centricity, which could be solved well by building a headless front end and integrating third-party systems for personalization.

I would recommend spryker to anyone looking for an innovative solution with many capabilities. It is also important to keep in mind that it is a framework and nothing out of the box.

The following disadvantages of Spryker have shown up for us:
- Complex architecture may require longer onboarding times
- E-commerce standards as usual with other store systems partly not available (but of course Spryker is not an out of the box solution)

As an e-commerce integrator, we advise customers from a wide range of industries, in both B2B and B2C contexts. Spryker enables us to meet the increasing demand for sophisticated store solutions with the store system as a central link between various special systems, partly standardized and thus efficient.
Stable backbone for individual B2B Processes and beyond

The system offers more flexibility and modularity than any other PHP based enterprise Commerce System.

API can still be developed further inmho.

Spryker's core software provides universal value, while still being easily extendable and customizable. Thus I'd consider it an excellent fit for tons of manufacturers, retailers, and service providers in B2B and B2C environments looking to make the next step in digital commerce.

- The disciplined separation of backend and frontend.
- The modularity of features.
- Configurations for multi-store & -language setups are easy to accomplish.
- Customization is comfortably possible without risking future upgradability.

What do you dislike about the product?
- The steep learning curve for developers, who are just getting to know Spryker and its architecture, as the software is somewhat complex and a juggernaut functionality-wise. From what I can see, a lot has now been kicked off to ease and speed up that process (Academy); but still, with the small number of developers bringing an extensive Spryker knowledge to the table, it's a pain.
- The developer & business user community still offers enormous room for improvement. I'm sure many enthusiasts would be willing to share their individual experiences with Spryker.
- Some of the published modules are not production-ready out of the box and leave a lot to be desired, even with basic expectations regarding offered functionality.
