Fairly complex environment but great service once implemented
What do you like best about the product?
Once implemented, the product was relatively easy to use. The support has been great and extremely responsive when issues arise. This includes both pre and post support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Implementation was far from ideal and complex. Integrator base was limited. Interface could use an upgrade to where it is at today. Troubleshooting issues is difficult but luckily there tech support has been great so far. Would love to reduce complexity so that troubleshooting could occur in house.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Securing the sensitive data in both sanctioned and unsanctioned cloud services to met the needs of our clients. Eliminating blind spots. Fully GDPR compliant.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it. There are improvements to be made but overall great product.

Fast Implementation.
What do you like best about the product?
I can compare multiple providers to see how they compare to each other. I also love the flexibility that Netskope provides. I can choose the level of interaction I have with my employees (allow, context immersion action, acceleration, blocking). As I like to say, we give our employees bowling alleys. Netskope understands the ecosystem attached to each application sanctioned (and not authorized). This allows us to intervene better when an employee is using a specific application. Netskope has become very popular as a forensic investigation tool; giving us an idea of what is stored where and by whom.
What do you dislike about the product?
Netskope is at the mercy of cloud service providers and how they code their applications. For example, if Google changes an application, that can potential break Netskope's ability to inspect traffic to Google and how rules are applied. That however, is an issue inherent to all CASB providers and not just Netskope: there is always the need to react and reconfigure if a cloud service provider changes their web application. To Netskope's credit: for the few times we've seen this happen they've been good about addressing it quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Just with the agent deployment alone we improved our auditing, reporting, and analysis of cloud service providers (CSP) and access to the CSP risk ratings helped us with our cloud security review process. This deployment helped us to implement more nuanced access policies for CSPs. For example: allow access to corporate o365 realm, but block a user if they try to access a personal o365 account. That helped us to meet security requirements for our o365 deployment project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ease of implementation. The GUI is easy to navigate through. Out of the box DLP policies. The overall metrics that Netskope provides feeds into my overall cybersecurity program.
Netskope is a great product.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to deploy, very descriptive and insightful about our employee's cloud usage. This helps us out create communication plans, update policies, fine tune workstation software configurations, isolate and deal with specific problematic usage cases, and more. It is helping us tremendously to reduce our residual risk with cloud applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
I only have one item that I am not 100% satisfied with regards to the Netskope product, and even that is only a minor irritant. Since I am used to investigating logs to perform my own troubleshooting, access to the logs would be appreciated. The support team does mitigate my concerns by being highly available and knowledgeable in parsing and utilizing the logs to assist in identifying and correcting any specific issues encountered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Netskope product has met our security use cases and has given our security operations team the visibility, prevention capability, and speed to respond DLP incidents. More importantly we can see all the cloud applications. The dashboard, reporting, and metrics allows us to communicate the value to key sponsors and stakeholders at all levels. Overall, Netskope has been a game changer and we are very satisfied in this new era of cybersecurity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Support is very good but we spend a lot of time doing trials and errors, contacting (they're awesome) support to discover configuration or implementation details that could have been documented.
Take it Slow and You Will Be Rewarded
What do you like best about the product?
The clarity into our system was magnificent and once it was set up, everything was there.
What do you dislike about the product?
The implementation process was messy but hindsight is 20/20.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For my team it has helped with streamlining business processes by getting rid of unnecessary applications. Worked in close partnership with IT.
Netskope Active Platform
What do you like best about the product?
The best feature when using the active platform for Netskope is the granularity of information that you are able to view/act on for different cloud applications. The filtering and actions you can take on this granular information are highly customisable and effective in any environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing i disliked while using the platform was the MDM phone option for forward proxy was a VPN connection you had to turn on all the time for your users to use the SaaS services from their devices. This felt like a bulky feature and most BYOD devices it was too complicated for our end users to utilize while turning the VPN on and off.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A large use-case for this platform, obviously, is DLP. We have been able to actively protect and scan SaaS data to find sensitive data and remove/block the data. Additionally, the shadow IT aspect of this platform is excellent. Having the CCI scores built into the platform is a great feature and helps you quickly determine if the cloud services your users are using are safe.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Price, Ease of Use, Setup, and Features.
Effective and Straightforward
What do you like best about the product?
Give you excellent insight into where your data is going. You can test this before purchasing (we did) and we were very surprised at both the type of data and the locations (box, iCloud, etc...) that were being used.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can take a bit to implement, but we haven't run into any huge roadblocks. Our top three issues were of our own making: all bandwidth and priority related.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking to implement and enforce a data classification policy, and this was one of the key platforms that enabled both insight into where our data was going, and what type of data it was. We could trace back to users and address concerns and violations very quickly. We were also able to use it to help prevent misuse as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I initially wanted to go w/Palo's solution as we could get it for a competitive price, but Netskope worked with us to get close to parity, and it's far beyond Palo's capability

What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally CCI scores are out-of-date - however Netskope provide a mechanism to challenge and update these.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enhanced visibility of SaaS solutions being used by the business. Identificaiton of high risk SaaS providers
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Understand how you will get your Internet traffic data from your proxies into the Netskope Cloud.
Conduct a PoC on both the Netskope Agent and Log parser to work out which model fits best with your organisaiton

Netskope Review
What do you like best about the product?
Options and coverage within cloud security space. We feel confident that Netskope will be one of the leaders when it comes to options available in the CASB space
What do you dislike about the product?
CASB is not a silver bullet in terms of mobility enablement. You will still need to augment EMM and IDP security with CASB to provide a comprehensive security solution for mobile security enablement. Not an issue specifically with Netskope, but there are still gaps in coverage for specific use cases/scenarios
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DLP for collaboration SaaS apps, mobility enablement, cloud security
Recommendations to others considering the product:
test before using of course, but it is imperative. Start with a small group and move to a pilot.
Overall easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Reporting and tagging feature, Ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to pull reports for Tagged apps
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to maintain control over SaaS site access.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to manage SaaS access for your organization
