What do you like best about the product?
It helps manage large files or complex files for all instances.
It provides highly efficient way to manipulate or to modify the oracle database.

It lags sometimes while modifying complex database.

Toad for Oracle : Database Developers Delight
What do you like best about the product?
It is straightforward to use and has all the features required for database developers.
You can view the procedures, perform database unit tests, debug the procedures and functions, view the packages, navigate to different database objects. The user-wise schema is easy to see, and filters are user-specific and can be stored. The best feature is it does not load all the data in one go, and hence for cursory checking of data, it's the best, and if required, it can load all data with a single click on the UI button available.
The other great feature is tracing the query flow, and the tree structure output helps infer the performance improvement areas.

What do you dislike about the product?
The software is not available for Mac Os or Linux platforms and is more suited for windows machines.
The key shortcuts are different and need a more extensive learning curve.
The sorting and filtering come as a popup and are not triggered directly from the UI.
It is difficult to see the blob data types like image files, and the constraints, SQL view, are less intuitive.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it frequently to write stored procedures, functions, packages, and views. I also use it frequently for creating tables, grant permissions, and different other database operations.
The benefits are easy to view the data with not all data loading at a time, thus improving the performance without being an overkill to the memory. It also has a significant benefit for debugging and error finding.
The reports are easy to make, and it is easy to have multiple database instances all in one UI screen.
A large number of UI buttons makes it quite helpful and easy to understand.

If you are an Oracle database developer and want all the features in one go and want quality and ease of use at little cost, this is the tool you should be having on your computer.

We would need special edition to upload data from excel and do the calculations, which is a draw back

I like toad it helps me a lot to develop PL/SQL tables/views/function/ procedures, the editor in the tool it will help you to recognize and fix syntax error also there is a lot of features allowing you to debug your code and optimize it and find unusable variable and also it helps using the wizard base to create procedure selecting specific element

Sometimes the application crash or freeze specially when it load large files or plsql code. also when i try to execute large sql script using the editor it will take long time so i prefer to use SQL Plus to run large SQL script

The tool helps every developer to create tables views functions procedures packages users and setting roles to specific users also the tool help to debug you code and find errors also it help a lot to optimize performance and monitor the performance in order to tune it

I highly recommend anyone who want to build new career path in Oracle database PLSQL to start learn coding using this tool it really helped me a lot to be a good developer

This application help all oracle database developer to create database elements and objects easy, actually the editor of this application and the debug mode helps me to create procedures and functions very fast and it helps me to export reports addm and tune performance

Sometime the application crash and executing large script using the editor stuck and crash

Very easy to use and it help beginners to write plsql code and help experts to monitor and control database using this tool

What do you like best about the product?
Good GUI, very intuitive, there is not much training that is required to start using it. Administrator module is also quite useful that can give you insight like explain plan, session wait etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its a licensed tool so there is a procurement that we have to go through where as SQL developer is free and prety much does the same things with slightly poorer interface. Some time if you leave a box clicked then it will lock the row and can create issues with the database sometime.

Writing business reports, Writing PL/SQL queries. also performing database performance tuning activities.

Its a great tool but in the times of cost cutting procurement team will ask you for a justification.

I enjoy the ease of dragging and dropping tables, and the ability to do quick manual edits through SQL statements.This creates a user-friendly experience, where many users are able to create their own queries. Connecting to databases is simple, and users can save various schema of tables to return to at a later time, reducing the need to configure the views upon each login.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of ability to create groups through the selection of data, rather than SQL statements, can be frustrating. This causes some users with less experience in the tool to need greater direction from more experienced users, or our IT group. Training was offered through our company, but not through Toad experts or representatives. This caused some dysfunction and gaps in knowledge with implementation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our work required a transition from a system without security or tracking abilities of users through data sets, to Toad. We are able to better track users and IT has greater control of data usage. We have also utilized SQL more throughout our system to edit and manage queries, or share these queries with each other.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great tool for those who need drag and drop capabilities, but some users will need to be able to understand basic or advanced SQL statements.
