Very useful ad-hoc reporting and discovery tool
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the query builder in Toad as it provides a way to visualise the data relationships.
The ability to export directly to Excel is very helpful

Very occasionally, Toad will crash, but otherwise nothing comes to mind

Exploring data and producing ad hoc reports. Converting an SQL query into code format for VB has been a great time saver

Great Product- Easy to Use
What do you like best about the product?
Ease to connect, query, and publish queries or data.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is hard to query 2 different data sources without having to query both, load into an intermediate source and then merge the data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are automating queries and reports with ease now. We additionally now have a very nice way to store our queries into a centralized repository using Toad Intelligence central.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a lot easier to use than using other tools that we had reviewed. It is a little pricey, but worth the cost.

Nothing - I have had no issues reported

Quick database connections in one application without the need for separate GUIs.

What do you like best about the product?
Toad is such an easy tool to start using without much knowledge. It is just very intuitive. In addition, there are good resources to help increase your knowledge and very proficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
It costs money and starting to be some nice competitive free tools.

Helps to reduce time with PL/SQL development. Provides intuitive view of database structures.

automation steps seen a bit long.
when pulling data from the database when it filters it takes forever with the paging to complete. it keeps rolling and rolling.

The features that allow faster running of datasets, pulling information through with great speed. Far more features than the standard Microsoft version

There isn't anything that we really disliked, I fond that version 4.3 is significantly faster than version 4.2

I like the flexibility to produce ad hoc reports for my business whenever I'm needed to.

Not always easy to disconnect from one db and connect to another while a report is live

We have frequent need for complex data that standard reports don't provide, and which need rapid business intelligence queries, which I am able to provide.

It's a great produce, only really bettered by SQL Server tools
Cross Query Capability
What do you like best about the product?
This tool was instrumental in the major ERP implementation over the last 6 years. Comparing data from one system to another could not be easier because of the cross query capability. Saved many hours!
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficult finding answers to solutions and issues that I encounter. Would like to see a better organized user community for questions and answers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cross Query is a huge benefit. This element in Toad is well worth it, without the automation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If implementing a new ERP and you intend to migrate data, Toad is great for querying across different databases. This is a major activity in an implementation and comparisons of data any other way is just to time consuming.

It allows me to analysis of data progblems quickly and easily. Give me a purview to live data.
Extremely friendly for new SQL User
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to connect to all my different connections and databases I need to access and the ability to automate reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
Over the last year the thing I dislike most are pop up messages that seem to happen when I have to reconnect to a connection.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are working on reporting as well as financial reconciliations mostly within my team.
