CloudBasic RDS: Easy management and operational expertise
What do you like best about the product?
It helps in migrating the relational databases and helps us to connect with the underlying databases like MYSQL, POSTGRES and other rdbms. Easy to use and scale for projects which need to handle large datasets and follow acid properties.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a AWS service but what if a user needs to migrate to use some other service or some other cloud data warehouses like big query , snowflake etc. The migration could be tedious. The cost and complexity is also a big disadavantage for a large datasets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used RDS for a project where the need of an hour was to use a relational database which could
1. Follow the ACID and also the security of database was a concern. Hence to maintain a cloud instance was easier for all the developers to follow altogether and work on it to store the data which we were moving from data warehouses like bigquery and snowflake and cleaning the data, analysing it and the finally storing it using python library `psycopg2`.
Ease of use suitable for all skillsets
What do you like best about the product?
I like that its very easy to use. It is suitable for people with different skillsets. I like its improved monitoring
What do you dislike about the product?
I think customer support could be better. There should be less delay
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing RDS database on regular basis can be difficult task. I think CLOUDSQL is a step towards addressing that
A Game Changer for Seamless Database Management
What do you like best about the product?
The user-friendly interface makes managing databases a breeze, and the level of automation simplifies tasks that used to be time consuming. The real-time monitoring feature gives me peace of mind, and the scalability options are fantastic for growing projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
One drawback I've noticed is that the pricing structure can be a bit complex to navigate. Understanding the cost implications for various usage scenarios might require some extra attention. Furthermore, although the platform is generally user-friendly, occasional delays in customer support response time have been a minor inconvenience. Despite these points, the overall benefits outweigh these concerns for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides seamless scalability, allowing me to easily adapt resources to match the demands of my applications. The automated monitoring and optimization features ensure optimal performance, reducing the risk of downtime or performance issues
Awesome service
What do you like best about the product?
I value the simplicity that CloudBasic RDS brings to the administration of my Amazon RDS instances. By providing a user-friendly interface and straightforward tools, it streamlines the process of monitoring and maintaining my databases. This means I can effectively manage my AWS resources without the need for in-depth AWS management expertise.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing I dislike about the product is that the cost is a bit on the higher side.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use cloudbasics RDS to replicate various databases where we consolidate and centralize data and generate updated reports.
This advantage allows me to reclaim valuable time and resources, which I can now allocate to more strategic tasks. As a result, my productivity has improved, enhancing overall effectiveness in the management of our databases.
Excellent Cloud Relational Database Management System.
What do you like best about the product?
Scalability. OLTP. OLAP. Satisfying Dr E.F. Codd's Rules.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not applicable as DR E.F.Codd's Rules for RDBMS are satisfied. Cloud based RDBMS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloud based Transaction management.
Great product, fantastic support team
We're a small, growing company so our AWS budget is tight and the CloudBasic replication product is the perfect solution for our needs. This product has allowed us to implement a reliable, near real-time replication solution without resorting to expensive SQL Server/RDS replication solutions. The CloudBasic product has proven to be fast, reliable, easy to set up, use and manage.
Before our AWS migration we managed our own physical SQL Server installation and used SQL Server log shipping to sync our online and reporting databases with typical latencies of 15-30 minute range. With the CloudBasic solution our latencies are now in the 2-5 second range and the replication process is more transparent and more reliable. The simple, clean user interface allows us to see what's going on with the replication process very easily and the system has proven to be so reliable that apart from the basic DataDog & CloudWatch monitoring on the host, I now trust CloudBasic e-mail notification system to tell me when there are issues that need attention.
Additionally, when you have to entrust mission critical data and infrastructure to a 3rd party company the support process needs to instill confidence and the support team at CloudBasic has been stellar. No product is perfect and on those occasions when we have needed help configuring or troubleshooting replication issues, the CloudBasic support team has been responsive, knowledgeable and very quick to resolve issues for us.
Our use case for the product is pretty simple and we don't use any multi-site/multi-location features yet but for the scenario that we do employ, the product works great and I highly recommend the solution and the company to anyone looking for a fast, easy to manage replication solution for RDS SQL Server installations.
