It makes Data visualization look so easy and helps us to derive insights.

I work in the oil and gas industry and using Spotfire, I was able to project data in a way costumers wanted

Very Business friendly
What do you like best about the product?
Designed to be simple but powerful tool. It is easy to use but does complex visualizations, fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing in particular. I have worked with other tools like Tableau and PowerBI, but prefer Spotfire better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analytics, predictions, providing insight to complex data in a simple visualization and fast and consistent answers to every day requests on demand.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a well known robust application that provides answers to complex questions very quickly and is very easy to implement and use.

What do you like best about the product?
Spotfire handles disparate data sources very well. It is also very easy to turn around a quick analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the collaborative features in spotfire are lacking, namely team bookmarking capabilities. My team and I use bookmarks extensively, however, there are only two types of bookmarking features (public & private). I can create a public bookmark for collaboration, however, my team members must create an additional unique bookmark in order to expand upon work/analysis. (This becomes problematic after several team iterations, as several bookmarks have to be created in order to expand a team analysis). Spotfire needs an additional bookmark type ("team" or "global", this additional bookmark type would allow public publishing, but also allow group editing/saving/etc for non administrative roles.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Horizontal well spacing, well production characterization, and cost benefit analysis. Spotfire's ability to improve workflows, work efficiency, and data analysis efficiency is unmatched in my opinion. The more I use the software, the more I find additional ways to improve business processes and business decisions.

Spotfire visualizations are easy to create with this software. Lean in; the more you use the program, the more value you will realize from using it.
A fully-contained, powerful analytics solution
What do you like best about the product?
Spotfire gives businesses the capability to quickly deploy enterprise-scale analytics from numerous data sources and empower users to drill down all the way to the row-level data if needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no way to mirror a visualization between pages. If I have an analysis of numerous pages, and I want one visualization to appear on every page, I must duplicate the visualization over and over. If I need to make a change, there is not a master version, I must make the change to each individual page. Same goes for duplicating visualizations across analyses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used Spotfire to improve our service variability and consistency. Using spotfire, we were able to plot millions of shipments on a scatter plot and identify how late or early each shipment was. From here, we were able to make actual changes and improvements to our operations to double our on-time percentage and cut standard deviation in half!

Not only is Spotfire a best-in-class product now, but the features they have in the pipeline will improve the usefulness and take this product to the next level.

What do you like best about the product?
I love this product. It is so robust and does a great job allowing end users to visualize the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a high learning curve. New users will need several months to get familiar with all the features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use TIBCO in the healthcare setting to display trends, forecasting and efficient improvements.

What do you like best about the product?
Spotfire is most helpful in creating data visualizations quickly and handling large datasets. We share derived data and insights across teams and with customers. It allows us to quickly go from proof of concept to product.

The web player functionality is limited, lacks ability to even run advanced data models.

What do you like best about the product?
We are data management (ETL) company with global 500 customers. We have developed a connector with Spotfire which allows our customers to pull their data from our platform to Spotfire. This has given our customers the flexibility and ease in running their analytics with a powerful visualization tool.

Sometime the customers have a hard time getting Spotfire set up
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data visualization. We basically make TIBCO look good with allowing many forms of accurate and diverse data being connected.

Best visual tool and aggregator
What do you like best about the product?
I like the bright visuals and the immense aggregation capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
The more recent versions have hidden some of the more useful features behind panels, and made them harder to get to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving many ad hoc analysis problems with Spotfire as well as some everyday tasks. I use it on a regular basis for visualizing drill schedules, and for pivoting data into cross tables.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend using Spotfire for many reasons. The visualization capabilities give an almost instant view into data quality. The ability to quickly work with massive amounts of data are impressive. And the aggregation of those massive numbers of records is so intuitive!
Perfect platform for customization
What do you like best about the product?
They provide a great platform for quickly visualizing all the custom calculations you want to create in the background. Great adaptability for using custom HTML, R, Python, Java, CSS, etc..
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to be able to use spreadsheet interface sometimes, which is hard to beat Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business development team - forecasting large swaths of wells.
