Easy to use, robust, cost- effective
What do you like best about the product?
Our company has used Nakivo as its backup solution for over seven years. From the beginning, I have appreciated how simple and intuitive the software is. I have rarely needed to refer to the documentation when performing basic backup or restore operations. The online help for advanced features is well-organized and descriptive. Support for Microsoft 365 and Proxmox are among the most important features added over the years.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Backup to tape is slower than other available solutions, which is why it is not a viable option for us.
- There were a couple of minor glitches, but they weren't significant enough to contact support.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using the Nakivo solution for backup gives us peace of mind regarding data protection and business continuity.
Easy to Install, Easy to Use. Cost Effective solution.
What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive UI, easy to deploy and manage. Very competitive Pricing compared to equivalent solutions from VEEAM and Druva. Reliable Backups across platforms. Robust security (immutability enabled/installed within onboard repository but can also be deployed to other repositories. Very easy integration with Hardware Deduplication platforms (Dell PowerProtect DD & HPE StoreOnce). Can be deployed to NAS system , VMware Virtual Appliance, Windows and Linux. It has a broad interoperability support on Windows and linux distributions. I also love that same console can be used for Infrastructure Backup and Microsoft 365 Backup.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't find something to state here because everything run smoothly and without errors or misconfigurations. Of course new features are needed to be fully comparable to other equivalent solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Actually we were looking for a more cost effective solution than the current one we use.
Backup software that just works, is easy to use, decently priced, still supports tape backups

The ease of use when setting up, the amount of information you have when it runs a backup.
The pricing is really good.
Customer support is really good, they are really helpful. For example: the trial was expired but we had more servers in use in the backup jobs then
we have available with our license (perpetual). But 1 e-mail to Nakivo and they had send us a new (limited to a few days) trial to fix everything.
It's really easy to use, you can easily schedule jobs, make sure jobs run after each other.
Restoring is also easy.
One of the things I also really like is that you can have a transporter be installed on a different server/NAS.
So how we have set it up: our primary backup server is connected with NIC teaming with 2x 1gbps connections.
However our QNAP NAS is connected with 2x 10gbps and our VMWare servers are also connected with 10gbps, meaning that with the transporter on the QNAP it actually is able to utilize the 10gbps connection. (Our primary backup server has our SAS tape streamer connected)

What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest downside is that you have to really think about how to set up your backup tapes (as in daily, weekly, monthly, etc and having them all go on different tapes when using a robot).

We needed software to easily backup multiple VMWare servers.
And because you ideally want an off-site copy of your backups we had chosen to go for a tape streamer because cloud backups are pretty expensive and we have sensitive data so this was the safest and cheapest way to go.

Exactly what they advertise. It installs in just five minutes and is incredibly easy to use.
What do you like best about the product?
The installation process was incredibly fast. It took me no more than five minutes from start to finish. The interface is clean, intuitive, and very easy to navigate. Despite its simplicity, the software offers a robust set of features that work reliably and efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
Up to this point, I have not encountered anything I dislike.

As a small organization, we need reliable solutions that are cost-effective but still offer a rich set of features. NAKIVO Backup & Replication solves this problem perfectly. It provides data protection and backup without breaking the budget. What’s even better, it covers all our compliance-related needs, allowing us to meet regulatory requirements.

The user-friendly graphical interface with many assistants to easily create backups. The support is very helpful and easily reachable.

That the free version limits you somewhat, but after all, the company has to implement something too.

What do you like best about the product?
Nakivo backup makes backups simple, fast, and reliable. I love its clean interface, quick deployment, and features like ransomware protection with immutability, deduplication, and automated backup verification, all in one solution for virtual, physical, and cloud workloads.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing major to dislike, if anything, I’d appreciate more advanced reporting and monitoring features, but updates keep adding great improvements

What do you like best about the product?
NAKIVO is easy to install and supports different operating systems, with particular emphasis on Linux support, which saves you an additional Windows Server license. The web interface is modern and largely intuitive. Where you don't get further directly, extensive documentation is available, and technical support is always reachable and finds timely appointments for direct assistance. All desired components, in our case ESXi VMs and a QNAP NAS, could be easily integrated. The system has been running stably for weeks without errors and crashes. Tests with the recovery were also successful. The trial phase could be booked independently and was extended without problems to clarify final questions. The price for the solution is absolutely fair and very attractive, especially for small businesses.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ordering process was comparatively cumbersome in contrast to the setup. After the test setup, it was actually quite clear what type of subscription was needed for which volume. Nevertheless, emails and a coordination meeting were necessary. However, once everything was set in motion, it went very quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Servers and NAS require regular data backups to avoid losing data in case of a defect. Additionally, old versions of files must be retained in case of accidental deletions. Both can be easily set up through the appropriately configurable jobs via the interface. We feel secure against data loss with the system.
