The capability to model with data from various different sources efficiently with the Qlik script enabled a fast analytical and reporting experience for our business.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of proper version control and separation of code and data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Qlik Sense is used to report on the matrix of different units and data sources e.g. Salesforce, SQL Server, Oracle and user comments that somehow correlate with each other. The data slicing capability in the app is critical for generating insights on certain business questions.

Self-sufficient BI platform

  • October 31, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1) A lot of sources that might feed initial data. You're not dependent from the platform or even don't need DWH (while for sure it's needed in any case).
2) Associative model is a really a cool thing that helps you to link data with each other. But also this requires a good understanding of the data loaded.
3) Quite solid and minimalistic interface while inside a lot of possibilities are included.
4) A lot of extra modules available, plus branch and add-ons. Commercial addons as vizlib & anychat could bring a lot of new vizion for your data.
What do you dislike about the product?
1) Quite expensive, especially if you want to have all features as Nprinting, Connectors, Big Data, etc. you need to pay additionally
2) As the technical model is quite unique, the start learning cost is either high. You need to learn a lot and for users it might be a bit confusing. Set analysis is not something you'll understand fully in a week. Loading script creation is either require some time to be understood.
3) Very low integration with Excel. Download possibility is not giving you formatting of the dashboard, plus it's require to much clicks for download. Some integration with Excel would be really nice, even if the initial goal of Qlik is to get rid of Excel sheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1) Analysis of the data becomes more easy and clear. Data explore with Qlik is really a easy and nice journey.
2) You can fastly be prepared for the meetings where you need to clearly demonstrate the results.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need self-sufficient source-independent BI system, QlikSense is what you can try. Take time to understand it's model and scripting/formulas language used inside. Spend some money for at least training of your expert/analytics team or ask consultants to build a first app in order to understand how QS is working. If you were working mainly with Excels it will be challenging to move users to data explore & analysis in QS, meaning you need a huge work style change management campaign to succeed with migration.

Simple Yet Powerful Analytics

  • October 30, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Qlik Sense can be as simple or as complex as you'd like. There are very intuitive wizards that helps you import and transform your data. Along with the drag and drop nature of the visualizations, you can have a decent looking dashboard up in a matter of minutes.

On the flip side, if you prefer maximum control of your data, you have the ability to write the load script on your own. This gives you maximum flexibility on how your data appears, how it's transformed, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of the visualization features have been "streamlined", in that options have been removed for users. While I can understand some of the design decisions, I wish Qlik would make some more customization options available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So far I've used Sense in the medical, financial, manufacturing, and government sectors. Some questions I've answered with the software include "What are our FPE and MU numbers for each location?" and "Can we detect unpaid taxes based on scraping sites like Airbnb?". With the amount of connectors, extensions, and the extensive API, there's bound to be a solution you can come up with.
