The product is improving quickly

What do you like best about the product?
Acumatica is improving fast - they implemented many of the features we asked for.
I like the fact that keyboard shortcuts and work with keyboard is supported - very convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although rather convenient, the interface is not sexy and smells like 2000s.
There are too many levels in the interface so it sometimes is hard to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Acumatica for several different purposes, including time tracking on projects. The solution helped us to build PNL reports and make improvements in our processes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider how many integration you need to do - Acumatica may or may not have ready-to-use integration solutions for other systems.

Transitioning into Acumatica

What do you like best about the product?
Coming from Sage Software, it looks like Acumatica will allow us to grow to scale and provides more in depth analytics of our sales and operations. It's not as simple to use, but I see this software helping us create operating efficiency and management of our warehouse. I also can't express how useful it is that this software is built on a browser platform. This allows me to work efficiently from anywhere whereas I would always be stuck in my office.
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems like there are multiple steps for simple processes such as sales orders, purchase orders, etc. Coming from Sage, everything was a simple 1-2 step process. Acumatica seems to be a 3-5 steps for all of these similar tasks. Also, if you go into a print screen and forget to save your work, you'll lose everything by clicking on back. The action tab needs to be available in the print screen to prevent data loss. The sales order process is also quite cumbersome. The training is a key aspect in learning how to use Acumatica. We are in the training process right now and will hopefully go live in two weeks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are working to create operating efficiency, sales analytics to help with purchasing, and warehouse management, along with integrating a CRM and customer portal. One of our biggest issues in the business is with warehouse mispicks. This upsets customers and Acumatica will help us integrate into lot tracking and also factoring in warehouse management at some point.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Know what your getting into and understand that you'll have to clean up your whole database before going in. It's not as simple as importing your data if you don't have your data properly formatted and organized. Acumatica can be a great tool for growing your business, but you'll have to go through the growing pains in setting up all your data properly for import and the training process to ensure all users have proper knowledge in how to use the software. The hardest thing for long time employees to accept was going through new daily processes.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that Acumatica is a cloud-based ERP solution. I also like the fact that we can build inquiries pretty easily as opposed to creating custom reports (which can quickly eat up time and money to create). I like the visibility that the system provides, every transaction can be drilled down to a most basic level.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the fact that there can be two locations to acquire the same information--and that the information (while the same) can be represented differently. (Example: Invoices in Accounts Receivable will look different than invoices in Sales Order)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company needed a cloud-based ERP solution, Acumatica has fulfilled that need. Our company also needed more visibility with regards to sales. I think we might have a little more work to do on this, but once we have more data, we will have what we are looking for.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Implementation was very easy. We went live with Acumatica in about 60 days--and were actually able to conduct business. They were very efficient. The software looks intimidating at first (there are a lot of tabs and modules) but once you have adequate training, the system is excellent.

What do you like best about the product?
It was a lot of work and took longer than expected. But once it was running it is very good. Has a very customizable back end and development for it is pretty straight forward, thanks to 6.1 the new REST API is definitely a hit.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial Setup is a challenge, but once the kinks are worked out it works well. It will take time, but patience is the key as with any major software move.

It's a plus and a minus because it is so customizable so planning your customizations are key.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were operating in seven different systems, and the goal was to bring our entire business process and flow into one solution. We are several companies that all flow up to one owner and this was the best solution to get the job done.

So we are still using two different systems instead of one, but that is much better than before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It will be bumpy, having a person on team that knows accounting really well and a person who can learn software and be the goto person with lots of time to help others. As the learning curve is very slow at first but once you understand the flow and why it works that way it all falls together. Planning is key. This is so granular that the configuration can be a bit of a challenge

What do you like best about the product?
We love the flexibility of it to our unique business and I love the data reliability that we did not have in our old system. I love that they listen to customers and make valuable updates to the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike having to pay so much more money for the sales orders and purchase orders to talk to one another. I'm hoping there are some improvements in features to help us out in this area.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have saved lots of time saved by knowing the data we put in stays in a reliable state. In our old system we had to re-check things several times to make sure nothing happened to the data in the process. It is also nice to have our product data and our accounting processes integrated so we don't have to export from one system and import it into the other system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Acumatica is the most versatile ERP system that can be customized for any type of business. Acumatica is the future of ERP systems.

What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to run reports and I love that you can drill down on the items to get more detail.
What do you dislike about the product?
How hard it is to write reports. Creating a unit set is no easy task because you really have to think about things in a very different way. Everything seems to be don alphabetically so I find myself renaming things to get them to show up where I want them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our old system was based on excel spreadsheets and lots of links. Now we can easily see our financials at any time and everyone has access. We are also much more confident in the validity of the data.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the system is highly customizable and you can get the different modules to work in different ways that suit your workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that some processes can be cumbersome and complicated.
Better written help files would be a huge improvement

What do you like best about the product?
The software is easy to use. It condenses a lot of things onto one page. You can use it on any device and anytime sign in from anywhere I never have to worry about it when I'm traveling. Also because of it's unlimited user model I can add people on and don't have to bother IT to add a new user..
What do you dislike about the product?
It's so easy to learn you don't even think you need training but that's a mistake. Sometimes I'm not sure why something isn't being saved because I really haven't learned how to use the system correctly. There is a lot of info on 1 page -- which is good and bad I guess.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for financials as well as Sales CRM. Because the CRM as easily integrated with the chart of accounts with financials it's very easy to use. Also the expense modules build in so because everything is so easily integrated it's like having a very expensive air P product in the palm of your hand.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The community that is making up AccuMed to get reminded me of the original Edwards community 20 years ago. They want to improve the product and they listen to customers. It's very easy to get help on the phone and actually speak to executives within ACUMATICA. The partner that I used was very thorough and helpful.
