    Civil Engineering

Business Systems Manager for an Engineering Firm.

  • January 24, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Upsides are that it combines all of a company's projects, accounting, and CRM into one platform. The bonus is that it is super user-friendly...very intuitive in design logic from user perspective. Love the Acumatica Community Portal
What do you dislike about the product?
The hard coded modules. It would be beneficial to be able to change the name of a module to be in line with the established processes of a company, without having to change functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
visibility with complex reporting of data in the system
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Choose your Partner very carefully. Make sure that they fully understand your business needs and are there to make sure you are ready for implementation on time and on budget.

Cost Accounting Review

  • January 24, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The implementation team was great and understood our business. They were able to demo the product with data similar to our industry. Then they have used some of our real data and combined their experience for implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to be able to make change orders to Subcontracts without having to make a change order to the Project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Real data, quick profitability reports and status of where a project is.

Lots of work

  • January 24, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of data input allows employees to access and enter the data when needed. Browsing and navigation are easy once the first few work flow processes are used. Saving Favorites is a huge time save.
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficulty in getting the data reporting out that is needed to work and function for the departments. Customization is required by a developer and or code expert skilled in SQK, C-sharp, htlp, and accounting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems were needing a way to track and rate the processes in accounting, sales, service, and engineering. Getting those results ready in a readily available manner

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Acumatica seems to integrate multiple aspects of business while being seamless once incorporated and trained upon properly. As well, it sits really well on the eyes.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first, Acumatica does seem like a lot upfront in regard to information overload. However, as previously stated, it works together really well while being a lot up front.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business integration, automated payroll, time sheets.

Bolstering Confidence in Non-Technical Users

  • January 24, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Acumatica is exceptionally customizable, making it a great option for those of us in the publishing industry. Not only does it hold a massive catalog of books, but it also enables us to make custom screens to meet the specific needs of our users.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with any platform, there are some features that just aren't customizable to our needs yet. However, with each upgrade the system improves and becomes more intuitive and usable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to host a large amount of data and it has helped boost digital literacy skills among our staff, especially the non-technical users. 21R1 has features that are incredibly intuitive and clearly define and guide each step in the sales order process.

Acumatica as a Robust, Dynamic B2C Solution

  • January 16, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's the right size organization to have the mass/momentum but to still feel like you matter as a customer. It's robust enough to run your company but flexible enough to bend it to your unique needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are still core activities that need to be customized or rely on a 3rd party tool to accomplish. Although many of these are on their 'roadmap', it becomes expensive and cumbersome to make certain elements work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We love the ability to get out our data - to access tables and create generic inquiries that allow us to truly understand our business and create processes and tools to make it as efficient as possible.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't underestimate the amount of care and feeding the system will require on an ongoing basis.

Connected cloud is a modern solution for decades to come.

  • December 30, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
On-premise software is downloaded directly to your computer. The program itself and its data are both stored solely on your computer. So if you want to access the information, then you need to be using the computer you downloaded the software to.

Cloud software is connected to the internet. It stores its information online so that it doesn’t take up space on your computer. You can also access this software from any computer using an online account with an internet connection.
The first benefit of cloud software is its price. On-premise software tends to be expensive, and it adds up when you have to buy multiple users and an IT team to manage your server. Cloud software usually comes as a low-cost subscription that can be used by everyone in your office without buying multiple accounts.

This can end up saving you a lot of money in the long run, especially if it’s software your employees use every day.

Cloud software also tends to be a lot more secure. This is because it’s stored on an online server rather than on your computer. It makes it a little harder for hackers to get into your software even if they install spyware on your computer.

This makes your business and customers’ information much safer. You can go about your work feeling confident that your customers will never have a problem due to your business being hacked.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main issue with cloud computing is that it requires access to the internet. The good news is that the internet is almost everywhere these days. It seems like every building and even some parks have wifi available for everyone to use. So, unless you live somewhere that doesn’t have reliable internet, then this shouldn’t be too much of an issue for you.

But if you do live somewhere with limited wifi, then you may be relying on data hotspots for your internet. This uses up a lot of data, and not everyone has an unlimited plan. That means that you may burn through your plan’s allotted data before the end of your pay cycle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Disconnected systems are eliminated.
Managed IT services cost is eliminated.
We retain top talent with a next generation system.
We have been able to take action on issues or workflows quicker and this has resulted in an increase in productivity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
So, there are a lot of pros and cons to consider when comparing on-premise vs. cloud software. On-premise keeps everything in one place for you while cloud software is cheaper in the long run, saves space on your computer, and keeps you and your customers’ data secure.

While it’s clear that cloud software is the future for businesses everywhere and can help reach your company’s bottom lines, switching your company to the cloud right now might not be the most advantageous time.
I would suggest diving in head first and educating yourself on the pros and cons ASAP

Strong platform, Strong general business, manufacturing is weak, good outlook for the future

  • December 30, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Spreadsheet style screens that can be sorted and filtered. Generic Inquiry (report writer) allows pulling of any data field from the database onto a report. Slick user interface and ease of customization. Help files are genuinely helpful. Detailed paper trail helps user to understand what the system did by breaking down transactions into small bites.
What do you dislike about the product?
Manufacturing and Engineering Change Control modules are still a little weak. Acumatica owning the manufacturing module as of recently should help. Engineering Change Control does not allow for changes to multiple BOMs inside of one ECR/ECO. Manufacturing reports are lacking. Hoping Acumatica invests money in Manufacturing to improve the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One point database, one source of truth for all things related to our organization. Eliminate double data entry in multiple systems. Also critical is having a better inventory control system.
