Acumatica is simple to learn with an easy user interface!

What do you like best about the product?
Being a Dynamics SL Consultant for over 25 years, I feel more confident in the product knowing one of the founders of Acumatica wrote Dynamics SL years ago. I am impressed that they had the vision to use universal technology instead of proprietery.
What do you dislike about the product?
Really cannot think of anything that is not helpful or where Acumatica has any downsides. For example, Acumatica uses easy-to-use customizations for screens so users can customize their screen versus hiring a programmer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Acumatica enables us to upgrade to new versions without worry, as it will not affect add-on products. Furthermore, its upgrades are independent of any integrations or plug-ins to the software.

Good To-Date software for Accounting needs

What do you like best about the product?
We shifted from physical approvals to digital. Acumatica helps remove this process and make our approval process for efficient. I love the fact that we can also attach invoices or supporting documents to the software so it makes our audit process go smoothly. Their open API makes it easy for other applications to integrate; Ability to restrict subaccounts by Branches/Companies to limit errors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Approval workflows are not available in all modules. Open API can get complicated and costly (increase on consultant's hour to help build something we need that Acumatica does not have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Continous improvements on their bugs and monthly updates so we are on the most current build. We understand Acumatica is doing their best to make sure our software is the most efficient.

This ERP has everything!

What do you like best about the product?
Whenever they release a new version, they provide enhancements and new capabilities superior to what other ERPs are doing and what end-users require. The interface is intuitive and compatible with all modules and features. And their prices are pretty reasonable and may be adjusted to meet the budget and particular requirements of any business.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that you must repeatedly save your work rather than it preserving itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We eliminated an obsolete accounting system and a problem for which we had tried numerous ineffective remedies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It has many functions and is not always simple to use, but it has a great deal of promise and is highly potent.

Information and Data at your fingertips

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful part of Acumatica is the ability to get at the data. This comes into play for daily processing between staff where one person can enter information and attach backup and another can get the details on the related project without needing to ask for it. Being able to drill down on the information from screens you are familiar with also gives independence to staff without their need to learn how someone else does their job. The ability to structure reports and extract data through tools like generic inquiries also allows one to get the information out in the format you need for outside purposes like uploading data to a bank for positive payor payments or provide details for the annual audit.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like the project information to be more integrated into the full package that is Acumatica. It has finally gotten better over the last couple of years, but you are still unable to put a project on the purchase request or requisition. You can add it to the purchase order, but that should happen at an earlier part of the process. The reporting should be more robust for project management out of the box for those of us who are not in construction or manufacturing as it is a good management tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use the project module to track a variety of grants we receive. The ability to create setup templates and bill either by progress billing or time & materials is time-saving while improving accuracy in the process. We are also able to track our general operations down to the subaccount level without too much of a burden on daily transactions. This lets us turn around financial statements quicker at segment and subaccount levels.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Explore the reporting tools for you will be customizing or creating much of what you will need.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the complete and unfettered access to Acumatica's source code. As a developer, being able to customize and build off Acumatica's standard functionality is critical. Access to the source makes the experience even better.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not a fan of the frequent session timeouts. While I agree that sessions should expire after a limited period of time, I am not convinced the solution to "use less tabs" really matters. I would like to have as many instances open as I'd like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a professional services company, we leverage Acumatica to handle our vast and complicated time & billing system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider taking some of the Acumatica training courses available at the Acumatica University.

What do you like best about the product?
As a cloud-based platform with all sorts of modules and processes that an employer in any field could customize and utilize, Acumatica has been a significant switch from a software program that simply cannot keep up with the constant changes and updates in the tech sphere.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some limitations with out-of-the-box features, but the support team and our implementation team have been reliable in formulating a plan to get to where we need as a customer. High hopes for Acumatica's future based simply on the adaptive functionality and customizable nature of the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Union employers may run into limited calculations that do not accurately reflect the specific fringe benefit packages their CBAs require.

What do you like best about the product?
Acumatica is easy to learn and use and can be customized so that the data you need access to simultaneously are displayed together on one page or accessed via a tab on that page. Since the initial implementation of Acumatica (printed orders and traditional warehousing), much of the physical storage in our warehouse has been automated, which has been integrated with Acumatica.
What do you dislike about the product?
Acumatica is an ERP, not a WMS, so it does not track items in our warehouse well in real time. If you need Acumatica to keep track of your inventory in an actual warehouse setting, get the add-on WMS program.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our previous software was no longer going to be supported, so the people who eventually became our IT department shopped around and eventually decided on Acumatica. Aside from the benefits realized in our offices, Acumatica immediately benefitted all of our operations by providing easy access to all information needed in the day-to-day business at the warehouse.

What do you like best about the product?
Acumatica's core product is strong with accounting and finance, and the industry modules provide a tremendous opportunity for integration across operational departments! The low code and no code customization tools are game-changing! The generic inquiries are incredibly powerful for data gathering and running automating processes. Most importantly, Acumatica is truly dedicated to innovating the product and continuous improvement! The community site is robust and vibrant. Questions are answered promptly, and feedback ideas are upvoted--many are included in the product in upcoming releases.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Field Service module is behind in integration with the core modules since it is still only a few years old. Stronger dispatching capabilities are needed--the "Calendar Board" should be the best tool in the module for dispatchers/service coordinators, but it is currently too basic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have automated many processes and streamlined business operations in multiple areas of our organization. We have built customization with and without custom development to shape the ERP for our business use! This is an upgrade from previous ERPs in which what you see is what you get.
