In our business, Enterprise Alert is no longer exclusive to IT

What do you like best about the product?
Each line of business within our org that uses Enterprise Alert have employed the feature set in different ways -- and those business users continue to challenge us in new ways we can utilize the application in our org.

Effective handling of dispatching, escalating, and tracking responses on alert notifications allows better coordination of critical incidents inside and outside of IT. With recent modifications in our environment we are able to utilize additional features provided by Enterprise Alert not previously available, particularly in collaboration.

We truly appreciate the support we receive from the vendor. The team at Derdack has always been very responsive, and handles each of our issues with a sense of urgency. The support team has been able to assist us with challenges that help us meet solutions with our business users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not dislikes per se, but areas of the application that could be improved: Policy design - especially on complex policies that need to be edited; search capability in more screens; the ability to add groups as owners would simplify callout management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A business group recently added to Enterprise Alert are now contacted about overtime work opportunities which used to be done manually; this saves that business team on average 2-10 hours each time a callout is required -- that team can now focus on higher priority work. The automation of that callout work has increased the number of callouts made and caught the eye of other teams who also want to use that functionality. The business team is also able to receive results on each callout, an essential requirement for audit and record-keeping.

And some of our IT teams are also experimenting with callouts to individuals and teams on non-critical incidents, and utilizing features inside the mobile app for conferencing and collaboration.

Flexible alerting Software with open Interface Possibilities thanks to Scripting Engine

What do you like best about the product?
As the Title suggested :
1. the Scripting Host Engine.
In Combination with the numerous Alert Policy Options almost every case (incoming source Event, Data Enrichment, Outgoing Alert Message) can be handled by Derdack without requesting an Expansion of the base Product.
This gives us a lot of Options for now in and in Future.

2. Notification Channels:
Apart from the great App, we can still use classic SMS and even Voice over IP with TTS Engine in our native Language. Derdack development even expanded the acknowledge Options/Menu with the Voice Channel on our Request.

3. Stability & fast Operation.
Derdack can handle a lot of incoming Events & triggered Policies/scripts. Derdack Software is tested a lot before Release causing very few Bugs in the base Product.

4. Support and Contact with Derdack.
Short Communication and handling of Problems/New Features. Developers are "Open" for Improvements.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Reporting & trace log Options from the Derdack's Server website.
Only on some pages Search Filters are available. When available Filter Options are limited (for ex. no search after certain Text in an incoming event).
For our Alarm Alerts itself, we can use the linked SQL server where Derdack stores it's data. From their End Users can build their own Reports (with some browsing in the SQL Tables :-) )
Also a Audit Trace Report would be nice : see which user changed what Setting or Option. (ex. alarming ON/OFF in App).
2. Use of Tags and Custom Text Fields could be better for filtering/searching/grouping. I already made a couple of improvement Requests at their Yammer support Site.
For example adding tags (for ex. Team Name Description or Tags) to the Tiles (on Website and on App).
3. No Option to customize App / Website. Like missing custom Texts (ex. Team Description Field).
4. Maybe more Role Detail Options in User Roles. Some Role Rights are not detailed causing OR ALL Rights OR Nothing (not used).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fully Automated Alerting of 15xx Wastewater Treatment Plants & Pumping Installations.
Depending on Alarm Priority & Working/On -Call Plan Alarms are delayed on Derdack and escalated to Operations on the right Moment with a lot of Detail. (in comparison with old manned alarm Calling Center)
Delayed alarms (next Working day hours) are send at the same Time without Delays. (fast Performance in comparison to manned Calling Center)

What do you like best about the product?
Derdack Enterprise Alert is a fast and flexible notification system.
The alarms are sent directly and automatically to the responsible persons or groups of people.
In the event of disruptions from all IT areas, the messages can be quickly and without detours reaching specialists in troubleshooting. The system handles the shipping, escalation and tracking of messages.
Derdack Enterprise Alert supports all common media such as e-mail, text messaging, voice, pager and push notifications.
Through parallel connections, several same notification channels, the failure and notification security is increased.

Should the system itself have a malfunction or need new functionalities, the company supports Derdack quickly and easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, everything is good.
All suggestions for improvement are recorded, checked and implemented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sending a wide range of messages via the various notification channels.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Enterprise Alert, besides it being a Robust and flexible alerting product, is the team supporting it. They are verry skilled and quick to assist, helping to tailor the product to our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not encountered anthing about Enterprise Alert that I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It enabled us to quickly respond to any disturbance in our country wide gasnetwork and dispatch the right engineer.

A powerful and flexibel tool for management and automation of alerting

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the flexibility of the tool and the possibility to connect different IT systems (e.g. monitoring tools). That helps us to implement a kind of alerting standard over different teams and units.

As well multiple notifications channels and user based profiles arrive very well with my customers.
Also great and one of the highlights is the availability of a mobile app.

Not software related but especially to emphasize: Cooperation with Derdack support and development teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Handling of permissions are difficult in a enterprise environment. I some cases only user based security available and no groups/teams can be used.
The configuration of on call duty calendars can be improved with some feature like copy paste weeks/months.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consolidation of monitoring system into a central alerting platform and therefore provisioning of alerts from different source in same a single process/way.
Further expansion of our automated IT landscape (e.g. ticket bridge) and "operation on the go" by using the mobile app (in future ;-).

What do you like best about the product?
Derdack EA is a comprehensive solution for an interdisciplinary IT operation. Different know-how teams can be easily organized.

The integration with different IT management systems is unique.

In addition, the simple mobile solution facilitates the daily support business, a few clicks allow the support process to run smoothly.

And not to forget: The vendor support is superb, including a very customer friendly reaction to enhancment requests.
What do you dislike about the product?
No complaints, so far. But you have to familiarize yourself with the licensing model.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are mainly tackling the problem of interdisciplinary cooperation in support. In addition, we minimize media breaks (email, SMS, instant messaging, etc.). We have a better visibility of our support cases and escalations, reaction times shortened.

Great tool, with many possibilities

What do you like best about the product?
The software give the possibility to alert on really many different channels and also to receive the events on different ways. So it's possible to configure a connection between different tools and Derdack.
Also the software works really fast and directly process the incoming events.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are currently just two things, that I dislike. First one, is that when you redirect an call with the on-call feature, you can't see, which person called you. But I requested the feature and they are going to implement a solution for that. The second thing is, that there is no real "Update Portal" for downloading patches and hotfixes. They deliver it via yammer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Really quick alerting, when a IT system fails. Also Alerting via SMS or voice call, when a production machine fails in our company. Realising a fully automated on-call system.
