GitLab is decent for issue tracking but not project management.
What do you like best about the product?
The UI for issue tracking is fairly flexible, and the label system is usable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its gantt chart roadmap view is limited and lacks enough features to be useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitLab is an improved interface for git issue tracking. It also allows local repositories instead of the cloud.

Good but is not very intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
All the git features are available and good ui. Creation of merge requests are good. Also has seamless integration with Pipelines. Still not competitive with bitbucket or github
What do you dislike about the product?
Code reviews are tedious tadks here. Doesn't have filetype baded filtering. Also the code review pane is over kill. Even branch deletion fails sometimes for private clouds
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is an Source Code Management tool. Which is a git client. And support all git functionality. It helps managing source code. Also have jenkins pipelines setup that eases the pipeline prosess.
Running But Can't Access
There were no issues spinning up the AMI, but connecting to it was a pain as the external link kept opening to a page not found. Took me a while to realize that the external link provided by AWS is https and this instance is only configured for http. Afterwards tried to connect via SSH for management of the instance, but receive a SSH_DISCONNECT_KEY_EXCHANGE_FAILED failed to negotiate key exchange algorithm. So while I can access the GitLab UI, the instance can't be used as there is no way for me to log into the server to do maintenance.
The best and easiest tool for code maintenance and review.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the overall user interface of GitLab and the ease of accessing the code by using only my email and password. We can create more branches for the single repository.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no dislike and cons in the GitLab repository.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I solved the code maintenance with version specific. So we can quickly switch to the previous versions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is the most accessible tool for code review and maintenance.
Gitlab needs a lot of improvement
What do you like best about the product?
The only thing I can say I like is the logo, the functionality not so much.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not too fond of anything on Gitlab, but the one that gets me the most is the fact that there's no auto-refresh when I push another commit while opening an MR. Also, I hate that they're called Merge Requests.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Gitlab as a repository manager. It's better than BitBucket but doesn't come close to Github.
The UI is not as nice as github

It's very similar to github, not much learning curve.
What do you dislike about the product?
The display is not nice, certain information got truncated and not able to view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Source code repository, collaborate source code with team members.

If you know how github works, you will know how GitLab work.
