Banner Health - Aggregate Search

  • August 15, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to aggregate multiple subdomains under our family into a singular search experience. It has greatly reduced friction in the search experience we previously had that forced users to use a per sub-domain search for content.
What do you dislike about the product?
No real downsides with SearchStax, coordinating teams was challenging at times, but for such a large project this was to be expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alleviated a Sitecore search experience that left much to be desired, moving to Solr has greatly improved the experience and we now have a singular site search vs multiple.

Exceptional, Prompt Customer Service from Industry Experts

  • July 14, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Nb. We have not tried their serverless offering yet so this review only applies to the dedicated node / cluster offering.

They consistently go above and beyond with customer service.
They have consistently helped us when we have run into issues / queries we have had with our cluster.
For instance:
- Helping us debug some very esoteric indexing workload issues within the cluster
- Updating SSL certificates for the cluster to help fix problems on another vendors platform
- Upscaling our nodes when we were running into issues with workload at very little additional cost
- Being very accomodating in migrating from a public to a VPC'd instance of searchstax allowing us to run multiple clusters at once during the migration period.

In the vanishingly rare cases where we have had service outages search stax have been very prompt in identifying issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their dedicated clusters can sometime be a little opaque to work with and can hitch during their regular backup periods causing very short but notable slowdown periods at certain times of the day.

Their pricing is fairly high compared to rolling out your own solution. (But if solr is something you don't want to worry about having to manage they are certainly best in class.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hosting a HA, stable Solr Cluster is an overhead we do not want to have to internally manage/maintain. Search stax are great for handling the complex side of hosing a Solr Cloud deployment and acting as Subjet Matter Experts when we do encounter issues with workload specific to solr.

Great Solr managed service and easy to integrate with Sitecore

  • June 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We first heard of Searchstax while implementing Sitecore and needless to say right after our first conversation we knew that it was the right solution for us.

Afterwards the whole experience was super smooth: it integrated perfectly with our project, the team was always present and the solution did what it was supposed to do. The pricing is very competitive and the implementation timeframe is pretty fast

Last but not least, the customer mananagement is very reactive/helpful in every situation and not only regarding mere technical issue so from a business and 'partnership' prespective it's extremly valuable.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far so good, so I have no suggestions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Beside the product doing what it's supposed to do and being fully managed, it is very effort/cost efficient for us.

  • June 20, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the part that integration was seemless and provided service is on high level. It was working so well that noone was even aware that we have SaaS for Solr.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not quite sure that there is any downside of SearchStax that I have been experienced for this period of time that we are using their service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides Solr SaaS anf get you rid of all headache related to hosting, upgrades, maintainance etc.

Easy to build Search Page and smooth integration with Sitecore

  • March 29, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
SearchStax Studio is instrumental and quick to build search pages with the provided UX accelerators.
1. It always Integrates very well with Sitecore. Simple package installation, rapid to populate the schema and rebuild the index.
2. Our Marketing team loves the option to update stopwords, synonyms, spell check and auto-suggest words themselves without any help from the technical team.
3. Very easy to consume the provided developer APIs.
4. Developer and User documentation have been excellent and easy to follow and understand.
5. Team is quick to help with any queries and issues.
6. Our Solr knowledge is enough; we don't need more time learning the tool.
7. Easy way to explain this tool is, It's a CMS platform for Solr.
What do you dislike about the product?
A few more options were missing from the UX accelerators like we don't have the option to turn on the wild card search on the search box etc. It can include this kind of option in future releases.
But overall an excellent product, all our team is very happy with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped build the Search page very quickly without many customizations. We could reduce lots of development effort and save time during the implementation. As it is a SaaS product, we are off from the maintenance burden. Marketers can make all their changes without much help from the technical team. Rich analytics are helping to understand better what our customers are searching for.

Excellent Solr Managed Service!

  • March 27, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Since we started using SearchStax as our leading Solr-managed service provider, I have had zero issues with its setup, management, or support.

It's an easy-to-use, reliable and scalable platform you can rely on for future implementations.

We first thought about a Solr-managed service when we needed to move a Sitecore implementation to Azure Kubernetes Service. We were delighted with the excellent onboarding process from the SearchStax team. They were on top of everything, helping us through the implementation by providing weekly check-ins and fast resolution of issues. I was surprised by how easy it is to set up and configure since the SearchStax team will prepare the instance to be Sitecore-ready for you.

I am now always recommending SearchStax for all our present and future clients because of my excellent experience with them.
What do you dislike about the product?
Throughout the past almost four years of being users of SearchStax Cloud. We have had zero issues with the product or the team in general. I highly recommend SearchStax Cloud, as engaging with them was a pleasant experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SearchStax offers a fully managed Solr service through their SearchStax Cloud that reduces time of setup, configuration and support by almost zero.

We now do not have to worry about the operational efforts of our Solr setups but invest this time in other higher-value tasks for us.

Very strong SOLR as a Service for a competitive price with a lot of capabilities and hosting options

  • March 21, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Highly customizable.
- Great admin portal with health insights.
- Good customer service
- A lot of choices in hosting options (Google, AWS, Azure)
- Good onboarding service.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Sometimes performance issues which could be fixed by scaling up easier.
- Not very flexible scaling in storage unless you include credit card information. Else upgrading includes new contract.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Delivering a SOLR service for a Sitecore platform without the need to maintain the Search Service yourself.

A fitting SaaS / cloud based solution to move your SOLR and search requirements into

  • March 20, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The platform helps you to become unburdened and provides the best approaches in place for their search solutions. No more updating, managing the infrastructure or checking for the correct settings.
What do you dislike about the product?
No specific downsides so far. We were wondering about performance, and maybe with enormous installations, that might be an issue. But at this moment SearchStax is providing good proactive support which implies that there are no issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The move into a composable architecture as well as handling Clustered SOLR setups
