What do you like best about the product?
Easy to integrate with drupal site for transactional emails. Marketing campaigns are very easy to set up and Sendgrid is improving tools for the marketer. Much better than CC or other charge by lists size ESP
What do you dislike about the product?
to get support sometimes feels like you have to jump through hoops if you issue is pressing and time critical.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping our servers free of sending the emails is key for us.

Great for Transactional and Marketing Email

  • September 29, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to integrate with multiple programming languages as well as SMTP addressing for existing applications and devices (such as office printers/scanners).
What do you dislike about the product?
We had been using a legacy version of the marketing campaign platform and when we switched to their new product (the legacy version is now end of life) there is some functionality that is changed in a way that doesn't fit our workflow as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Email marketing, transactional email (account creation, password resets) out of our applications, internal notification emails from various systems and applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is an easy to implement product. My only suggestion is to be sure to pay attention to the guidelines concerning warming up your IP address before introducing a production workload.

What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy the simple template and ability to customize our emails
What do you dislike about the product?
At times many of the emails go directly to people's spam folders, which is counter productive to our email campaign
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Outbound marketing in a one stop solution
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Again, it's a great one-stop solution to outbound marketing emails, but until they fix the issue with recipients having the emails go to spam, it needs work

So much better than traditional SES sending

  • September 05, 2017
  • Review verified by AWS Marketplace

I use Sendy (https://sendy.co) to send a newsletter (3x/week to 25,000 subscirbers) through SES. The problem was my SES IP address (which I of course have no control over) is consistently in a SPAM blacklist (frequently, this is SPAM cannibal).

I reached out to Amazon, and they said that it would cost me $75 a month, to get on my own IP address (of course on top of my sending costs). They said that with this, I could control my own IP addresses sending reputation, and that if I send good, non-spam emails (which I do), I wouldn't get blacklisted.

I was considering it, until I found SendGrid's integration. I pay $10 a month for everything, and have a great IP reputation + won't be in any SPAM blacklists. So glad I found this.

Disappointing support

  • August 20, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
When it works, it works just fine. Easy to use. I would recommend for marketing emails, just not transactional emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support leaves a lot to be desired. The company seems to not treat issues with any significant urgency. We got burned (and ultimately switched services) after they introduced a bug that caused emails not to be delivered, and I contacted support 3 separate times with no resolution on any of them. The emails ultimately ended up being dropped because they didn't figure out the problem before the 72 hour timer expired. On the up side, I've always gotten through to somebody on live chat over the years, and on easy issues, they were able to get them resolved fairly quickly. To me, though, I can't bank my business on an company that fails to follow up and resolve issues that they themselves caused.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SendGrid is a cheap and easy way to send emails from non mail servers but maintain visibility into the traffic and pass DKIM/SPF/DMARC checks. We've used it for Linux servers, phone/voicemail systems, copy machines, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a transactional email solution, I would strongly consider other options that provide better support and higher visibility into what is going on with individual emails.

Finally A Simple But Effective Email Marketing Program

  • August 02, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The newsletter Build feature has some neat features that allow you to visually build the newsletter to help spread your message.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that the program will not allow you to add attachments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to design an effective newsletter to help get our message out.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They offer a simple and free trial that allows you to test the program without any committments.

SendGrid is pretty awesome!

  • August 01, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use SendGrid for the purpose of sending out automated emails to customers. Welcome emails, weekly summary emails, etc. A great platform for both sales/marketing and developers to work together on.
What do you dislike about the product?
While I like the graphs and the basic data SendGrid provides for users to see how well emails are performing, there could be more customizable views available. That would help in really getting more granular with the data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SendGrid allowed us to finally launch automated emails, taking away lots of the laborious work we were doing in sending emails out one by one. For the purpose of sending out automated emails to customers, SendGrid is much more user friendly than other platforms we've tried.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need to launch automated emails, this is an excellent platform for this, and customer service has always been readily available.
