Awesome product + awesome support and documentation

I've used OpenShot desktop app quite a few times in the past years.
I started working on video project (soon to be lunched) and got very gladly surprised when I found out about OpenShot Cloud API.

First, I liked their powerful features, then the documentation. So after that, I decided to give it a try. It was a breezy to start developing using their AMI/API. But even with a good API and good documentation, sometimes we might need a helping hand, and every time I needed help, I got a fast and 100% effective response.

Besides all these good things about OpenShot Cloud API, it feels good to support OpenShot Project.

Keep up the excellent work!

OpenShot Video Editor is fantastic!

What do you like best about the product?
What I like the most is that OpenShot Video Editor is completely free and open source! For home users who are looking to make a video as a part of a presentation or for their own YouTube channel, OpenShot Video Editor fits the bill. OpenShot has a very user friendly interface and you can see all the available features within the main window, so you don't have to around looking through the menu to find one particular feature for editing the video or audio that you need. Every basic feature that one would need is presented in a simple manner to make video editing easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't come across anything I dislike. My use for OpenShot Video Editor does not go beyond adding audio clips to existing video clips, cutting audio and video clips, combining two audio clips, etc. So far, OpenShot has managed to allow me to do my work without any issues at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I personally use OpenShot Video Editor for my YouTube channel where I upload compilations of clips from my video game sessions. As someone who's used Windows Movie Maker and Sony Vegas Pro, I'm just astounded at how OpenShot has everything that I needed from Sony Vegas Pro for absolutely no cost of money!

It has now become incredibly easy and time-saving for me to make videos of my game-play with music added in the background on YouTube, which is all I can ask for.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd highly recommend using OpenShot Video Editor if you're looking for a video editing software for your basic needs such as compiling videos, adding audio or music files to existing video clips, etc or longer videos for YouTube purposes. OpenShot provides everything except graphic editing that suit most, if not all, your needs.

One amazing tool for All platforms

What do you like best about the product?
Title and Effects are the most amazing things in this tool. Since this is cross platform and very user friendly it is easy to use. Interface and the workflow are just too perfect for a video editing tool. Pretty fast and does not log unlike other video editing tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
This lags when some effects are applied. Few bugs are there in the software, other than that this is a pretty amazing tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Day to day processes in the company where i do presentations and demonstrations for my clients.

Creating stunning videos had never been easier

What do you like best about the product?
the best thing i like about openshot is the level of simplicity this software provides .Its just so wonderful to see how easy it is to navigate through the options .It was easy to learn more easy than adobe premier pro which was so much confusing. Now i have a good hand on openshot,my friends firsts thought i was an expert in movie making.I installed it and use the to convert , edit, crop , video, even though i have a low graphic card which is entry level it performs so well the software is well optimized. openshot support 70 plus languages as i have my friends overseases who struggle sometimes to navigate and get a effect done so i can easily let them know and help by whats going worng.the best thing is it is a free software which is available to every one on the internet to download and get their hands on.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its a Open-source software so we users have to be patience if we get any issues or find our own solutions for them. scrollling through the timeline lags sometime and it wiil be good if the theme options for the software would be more ,it also gets buggy sometimes they need to get the small updates to overcome thatso it wont crash
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it has been a benifit if i look back at my journey with it as i can just put in my drone footage and edit it quick without engaging in any other software and worry about the prices to pay as openshot is a free software and easy to use than many other software in the competition
Recommendations to others considering the product:
i will definitely recommend to my kids and my friends and teach them as it is pretty easy to use the software and be a professional video editor and create best movies

Fast Prototype Environment

I'm currently working with my company on a proposal for a video editing tool for a potential client. With OpenShot, I was able to build a small proof of concept to demonstrate the basic functionality in just about a day of work. I found the documentation to be clear and the one time I had a question, I got an almost immediate response via email.

If this project goes forward, OpenShot seems like a perfect platform to build out our production application on.

Solid video editing/processing API

There is a really lack of good products on the market that can accomplish programatic video creation. When our previous provider went belly up we were put in a tough spot, because there were no suitable replacement products on the market! ... Just in time, we found this newly launched Openshot API - and it was easy to setup and very powerful in what it can accomplish. In a matter of days we have been able to code most of the integration we need to create real estate tours. The developer is also very active and has a good plans for future development!

I just needed a quick way to carve up videos and this worked perfectly. The REST API made it very easy to integrate into our existing products.

We've used the OpenShot desktop application for quite a while, so it was great to hear about this AMI. I jumped at the chance to install and try it out and it was way easier than I expected. The AMI installed without a problem and the product worked perfectly in my tests.

The OpenShot Cloud API allows you to upload, edit, render and then retrieve the modified videos. From what I can tell, the typical features for a video editor are there: layers, effects, transitions between clips, multiple export formats, etc.

The AMI instructions are just a few lines and will have you up and working in very short order. There is a built-in browser-accessible REST interface as well, so you can actually do everything you want in your browser to just test it out. I was able to spin up the instance, create a project, upload a video, and have it rendered with a "negative" effect in just a few minutes, really. And the video was then available to view in the browser. This was on the smallest allowed instance type and using a very short test video.

A real-world use of this platform would be to integrate it into a video production pipeline, accessing the REST API through code, but the browser interface is a nice plus, for sure, and lets you jump in and test it out.

There are more detailed docs available, too. I would like see the docs expanded a bit, but I didn't have any issues and didn't really dig too deeply. The "Getting Started" section was really all I needed, and there are code examples there as well.
